Abstract

ABSTRACT Teacher work motivation is a key factor in determining the quality of teaching and learning processes in schools. However, teacher motivation is influenced not only by internal factors but also by relational and organizational contexts. This study aims to examine the effect of principals’ interpersonal communication and organizational climate on teachers’ work motivation at State Islamic Junior High Schools (MTsN) in North Aceh Regency, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of all MTsN teachers in North Aceh Regency, with a sample of 157 teachers selected through purposive sampling at the school level and saturated sampling at the respondent level. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment correlation, and simple and multiple linear regression analyses. The results indicate that principals’ interpersonal communication has a significant and positive effect on teachers’ work motivation (r = 0.748; p < 0.05), as does organizational climate (r = 0.739; p < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables show a very strong and significant relationship with teachers’ work motivation (r = 0.868; p < 0.05). These findings highlight that the synergy between effective leadership communication and a supportive organizational climate plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ work motivation. This study contributes theoretically to educational management literature and provides practical implications for non-material-based management strategies in madrasah institutions.

Abstract

In the competitive landscape of Islamic education, maintaining a positive reputation is crucial for Islamic schools to attract public trust and ensure sustainability. Effective educational public relations (PR) plays a central role in addressing modern communication challenges while upholding Islamic values. This study focuses on MA Atqia Bondowoso, exploring how a multidimensional PR approach can sustain its reputation amidst the dynamics of the digital era. The research aims to develop a holistic PR framework that integrates branding, image building, reputation maintenance, effective communication, and community engagement. Employing a qualitative case study approach at MA Atqia Bondowoso, the study examines the role of PR in sustaining the school’s reputation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed inductively following Miles and Huberman’s stages. Data validity was ensured through triangulation and member checking to provide a comprehensive overview of PR strategies in maintaining the school’s reputation. The findings reveal that a strategic PR approach, combining digital and traditional communication channels, enhances public trust, strengthens school competitiveness, and ensures long-term sustainability. Key strategies include consistent branding, transparent communication, and active community engagement, aligned with Islamic principles. The study proposes a comprehensive PR model that addresses contemporary communication challenges while preserving Islamic values.

Abstract

Student academic achievement is a key indicator of educational quality and is influenced by both instructional and organizational factors, including facility management and teacher performance. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of school facilities and infrastructure management and teacher performance on students’ academic achievement. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed. Data were collected from 226 students at MTsN 4 Aceh Utara using structured questionnaires and academic record documentation. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that facilities and infrastructure management has a positive and significant effect on students’ academic achievement and teacher performance. Teacher performance also shows a positive and significant effect on students’ academic achievement and serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between facilities management and academic achievement. These findings demonstrate that effective management of educational facilities supports a conducive learning environment and enhances teacher performance, which in turn contributes to improved student outcomes. This study contributes to the literature on educational management by providing empirical evidence from the context of Islamic secondary education and highlighting the integrated role of facilities management and teacher performance in improving students’ academic achievement.

Abstract

Islamic spiritual development plays an important role in shaping the character and work ethic of human resources in Islamic educational institutions. STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib strives to balance intellectual and spiritual aspects through various spiritual development programs. However, further investigation is needed to determine the extent to which these programs influence the work motivation of staff and lecturers on campus. This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic spiritual development for human resources and analyze the relationship between Islamic spiritual development and employee work motivation. The research method used is a correlational quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to determine the degree of relationship between the two variables. The results showed that: (1) Islamic spiritual development at STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib has been systematically implemented through various programs such as staff Islamic studies, Qur’an recitation and memorization, short lectures, and international seminars with Middle Eastern scholars. (2) The correlation test results show a value of r = 0.5246 > r_table = 0.2787 at the 5% significance level, indicating a positive and significant relationship between Islamic spiritual development and work motivation among human resources.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 era demand that university graduates possess mature career readiness to combat the rising unemployment rate among graduates in Indonesia. This study analyzes the influence of Career Self-Efficacy (CSE) and Organizational Experience on the Career Readiness of Islamic Education Management students. Using an explanatory quantitative design, the research surveyed 146 students at UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri. The findings reveal that both CSE and organizational experience, both individually and simultaneously, significantly enhance career readiness. The study uniquely highlights how organizational involvement serves as a real-world laboratory that translates theoretical managerial concepts into practical readiness. Furthermore, the results indicate that these two factors account for 57.2% of the variance in student preparedness. This study contributes empirical evidence to career development literature specifically within the context of Islamic higher education management programs, offering a specialized perspective on how religious-based academic environments shape professional competence. Ultimately, strong self-belief and active organizational participation are essential for strengthening managerial skills and ensuring graduates are competitive in the modern workforce.

Abstract

Curriculum upgrading is essential in higher education to remain responsive to contemporary developments, including the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. One innovative curriculum development initiative is the Madrasah Memanggil program at the Master’s Program in Islamic Education (PAI), Universitas Islam Negeri Madura, which has the potential to serve as a new model for MBKM implementation. This study aims to describe the form, implementation, and contribution of the Madrasah Memanggil program to the development of the MBKM curriculum within the Master’s Program in PAI at UIN Madura. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected from key informants, including the Head of the Master’s Program in PAI and the Chair of the East Java branch of the Indonesian National Madrasah Teachers Association (PGMNI), as well as relevant program documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Madrasah Memanggil program functions as a collaborative and applicative platform that enables students to contribute directly to improving the quality of madrasah diniyah as educators, facilitators, and social volunteers. The program integrates several MBKM activities, such as thematic community service, teaching assistance, and educational internships, into a single cohesive scheme. Furthermore, it enriches students’ practical experience, strengthens socio-religious values, and enhances professional competencies, while fostering a transformative and contextually relevant MBKM-based curriculum development model.

Abstract

Islamic education management possesses unique characteristics that distinguish it from national education management due to its roots in religious values. However, in practice, Islamic educational institutions face significant challenges in integrating the essence of Islamic teachings into policies, curriculum, and daily decision-making amidst changing times. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection was conducted through library research by exploring various primary and secondary literature sources, such as books, scientific journals, and other relevant publications related to axiology, Islamic philosophy, and educational management. The research findings indicate that the axiology of Islamic education management encompasses two value tendencies: theoretical values (the systematization of knowledge based on Islamic aesthetics and ethics) and practical values (the internalization of Islamic cultural values). The primary axiological values include: 1) I’tiqodiyah values (faith), 2) Khuluqiyah values (prophetic ethics: shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, fathanah), 3) Amaliyah values (mahdhah and ghairu mahdhah worship), and 4) Al-Dharuriyat al-Sittah values (the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, property, and environment). Axiology in Islamic education management serves as the foundation for shaping ethics and character. The application of prophetic values and the principle of public interest (al-Daruriyat al-Sittah) ensures that educational management pursues not only worldly (academic) success but also ukhrawi (moral) success, thereby creating education that is relevant, high-quality, and beneficial to human dignity.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic leadership values in educational organizations responds to the limitations of modern organizational paradigms that focus too much on efficiency and rationality while ignoring moral and spiritual aspects. The purpose of this study is to examine how the values of trustworthiness, justice, consultation, and good example can improve organizational effectiveness and support the character development of students. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing literature on organizational theory and Islamic leadership to build a clear conceptual understanding. The results show that these Islamic leadership values can strengthen managerial practices, create an ethical and participatory organizational culture, and support educational processes that aim for common good. The conclusion is that applying these values creates a more holistic organizational model that balances professionalism and spirituality. The implication is that educational organization theories should include moral and spiritual dimensions as important parts of modern institutional management.

Abstract

The development of Islamic educational management is confronted with increasingly complex conceptual challenges driven by globalization, digital transformation, and the growing demand for modern educational governance, thereby necessitating a strong and contextually grounded philosophical foundation. This article aims to reconstruct the philosophy of science underlying Islamic educational management as a theoretical framework capable of addressing contemporary challenges while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic values. The study employs a qualitative approach through a literature-based inquiry using narrative review and integrative review strategies, enriched by critical philosophical analysis of relevant scholarly publications in the fields of philosophy of science, educational management, and Islamic education. The findings reveal that existing theories and practices of Islamic educational management remain largely fragmented, with a dominant reliance on modern managerial paradigms that have not been fully integrated with Islamic ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. A philosophical reconstruction is therefore required to reaffirm an Islamic educational ontology centered on the concept of insan kamil, an integrative epistemology that synthesizes revelation, rational inquiry, and empirical experience, and an axiology that positions tauhid, justice, and maslahah as the core orientations of educational management. This article contributes to strengthening the theoretical foundation of Islamic educational management by offering a holistic and contextual conceptual framework, while also providing strategic implications for the development of more adaptive, ethical, and sustainable managerial policies and practices within Islamic educational institutions in the contemporary era.
