Abstract

Geosite is one of the Ijen Geopark geosites in the Bondowoso region which has an initial design as a tourist destination which in its management only implements elements of tourism. Then after the Ijen Geopark was designated as a National Geopark and proposed to become part of the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG), the status of the Wurung Crater, which was originally a destination, changed to a Geological Heritage Site (Geosite). This status change in its adjustment in the field with the concept of educational tourism is still not maximized. Geosite management needs to implement elements of tourism, science and education. The management concept is considered in accordance with the concept of educational tourism which includes tourism and educational activities. So the purpose of this research is to find out what potential the Wurung Crater geosite has so that it can meet the educational tourism indicators which consist of tutorial learning and field exploration. This research use descriptive quantitative research design and using survey/questionnaire methods and documentation studies in collecting data. The results of data analysis using descriptive percentages obtained a tutorial learning indicator value of 67.5% which was included in the "moderate" category and the field exploration indicator obtained a value of 75.8% in the "high" category. This shows that the Wurung Crater Geosite is superior in the preparation and provision of techniques, facilities, and learning media to support field exploration activities than in the provision of guide/interpreter facilities as well as the quality and quantity of guides/interpreters. But overall it can be concluded that the Wurung Crater Geosite has the potential for educational tourism which is included in the "high" category with the acquisition of an accumulated value of two indicators of 72.3%.

Abstract

Tourism is like a “treasure” and needs to be developed in order to attract visitors to an area. The advantage of those who have a destination with the presence of various attractions, events, and local culture considered a bonus. The case study of the tourism sector in Samarinda City has not yet developed and is in line with expectations, therefore we have started aspects of the festival economic which are expanded into three dimensions (event management, sustainable tourism, and destination branding). Evaluation to find out how big its role is, filtered by multiple regression analysis. We collected the data based on surveys, in which it conducted direct interviews with respondents who had a good understanding of the local demographic, social and cultural conditions. The survey coverage has determined based on time and place considerations, so they aimed specifically it at the two-day “The 354th Anniversary of Samarinda City” in 2022. The outcome of this study concludes that event management has a significant effect on sustainable tourism and destination branding. In line with that, we also found that sustainable tourism has a significant effect on destination branding and sustainable tourism can play a significant role in both the relationship between event management and destination branding, because the results are significant. Further, our need to study to enrich our findings so that the novelty will continue. The novelty of the theoretical or practical landscape teaches about market segmentation in the middle of a transition, especially boosting tourism commodities towards new trends.

Abstract

This paper examines the current state and potential future applications of robots, artificial intelligence, and service automation (RAISA) in the hospitality, travel, and tourism industry, with a focus on Indonesia. The study utilizes a comprehensive review of literature and empirical data, including case studies, industry reports, and scholarly articles, to gather relevant information. The findings reveal that while the implementation of RAISA in the Indonesian tourism industry is still in its introductory stage, advancements in RAISA technology and decreasing costs make it increasingly viable for substituting human labor in repetitive and high-risk tasks. However, it is important to consider that not all service processes are suitable for automation or delegation to robots. The decision to automate or retain human labor depends on factors such as economic efficiency, customer satisfaction, company competitiveness, and other internal and external considerations. This research contributes to the existing literature by addressing the specific context of Indonesia and providing insights into the current state and potential future applications of RAISA in the hospitality, travel, and tourism industry. It highlights the scarcity of research in this area and emphasizes the need for further investigation, particularly in areas such as the economic rationale of service automation, the readiness of businesses to adopt RAISA, stakeholder attitudes towards service robots, the impact of RAISA on service quality and company competitiveness, and the ethical considerations associated with its implementation. The findings of this study offer valuable insights for industry practitioners, policymakers, and researchers aiming to understand the benefits, challenges, and implications of integrating RAISA in the Indonesian tourism industry.

Abstract

The tourism trend that is currently developing is the halal tourism trend. The trend towards halal tourism appears because the world's Muslim population currently reaches 1.9 billion and represents a relatively large religious population. One country that has also discussed offering halal tourism is Indonesia. With a Muslim population of around 231 million, Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population. The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is currently focusing on developing halal tourism, emphasising improving services, especially services that serve the great potential of halal tourism (Muslim-friendly). This study focuses on organizing halal tourism in Lombok, a tourist destination in Indonesia that is internationally recognized for organizing halal tourism. In particular, this study discusses the practices of each activity, such as honeymoon packages or trips to certain locations, as well as the provision of prayer rooms, separate toilets for men and women, and halal certification of halal tourism products in Lombok. Then it analyzes the impact of identity and development—multicultural people towards justice. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method using library materials. The study results show that halal tourism plays an important role in the justice process in representing identity in Lombok. Diversity also creates multicultural understanding for tourists, tour operators and the community. This cross-cultural, reflexive and contextual understanding can be used to advance human development, especially by increasing the standard of living and proper education.

Abstract

The presence of materials and human resources in the Lebak Regency supports the creation of creative products in this district. However, this potential has not been maximized due to the undeveloped industrial system to support the development of the creative economy. Various causes of the underdeveloped potential and resources of tourism and the creative economy in Lebak Regency are due to the undeveloped industrial structure that supports the development of the creative economy, the unavailability of financing schemes for the creative economy industry players, limited access to marketing for the creative economy and not yet optimal institutional support for the creative economy as well as the large area of Lebak Regency. Creating strategic development is crucial for the future. One form of regional development is through the development of economic clusters. Creative economic cluster is necessary to formulate a development concept and strategy for Lebak Tourism Development.   This study uses a SWOT analysis to help formulate a plan or strategy for an organization or a particular practice in a systematic way. The data used in this study are primary data through interviews, questionnaires, field observations, and documentation. Secondary data were obtained through literature studies, government policy documents, government agencies reports, and other media, also both mass media and the Internet. The result formulated 4 strategies for creative economic cluster development, namely (1) Creating creative economy clusters, divided into the north, middle, and south clusters; (2) Creating a tourism village in each cluster based on its creative economy potential; (3) Creating an institutional scheme for developing the creative economy; and (4) Creating project bundling in each cluster.
