Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of the imitation method to improve solo vocal singing skills for class VIII students at SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang. This research is qualitative research that uses the imitation method. The instrument for this research was the researcher himself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing instruments, piano instruments. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, literature study. Data analysis techniques are collecting data, classifying data, clarifying data, analyzing data, describing and concluding. The problem formulated in this research is whether using the imitation method can improve students' singing skills in solo vocal singing. This type of Classroom Action Research (PTK) consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, evaluation, reflection. The research results showed that the use of the imitation method showed positive results from the first cycle and the second cycle was carried out optimally. The results of the research and discussion can be concluded that there is an increase in solo vocal singing skills through the imitation method, which was obtained from a total of 27 students who obtained an average score in the pre-cycle of 56% in the poor category because there were still many students who did not understand how to apply solo vocal singing using Correct. In cycle I, the students' average score was 64% compared to the average score in the pre-cycle, there was no significant increase because many did not understand how to apply solo vocal singing techniques. In the cycle where the students' average score was 81% in this cycle, it was seen that they had improved significantly, in the solo vocal singing technique the students also applied it correctly and improved the students' singing abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the extracurricular activities of the drum band at SMA N 1 Batusangkar. The type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through literature studies, interviews, observations, and documentation, data analysis techniques are collecting data, clarifying data and concluding data. The results of this study show that the results of drumand extracurricular activities at SMA N 1 Batusangkar are running well. Drumband extracurricular activities at SMA N 1 Batusangkar were carried out 17 times. Drumband extracurricular activities at SMA N 1 Batusangkar have several important stages, ranging from planning to evaluation. This study examines the implementation of Drumband extracurricular activities, with a focus on the selection, training, and evaluation of members as well as the management of musical instruments. The results of the research concluded that the activity ran smoothly thanks to the support of coaches and coaches. Various training methods, such as the observation method, demonstration method, individual training method, group training method and combined training method are important factors in maintaining the smooth running of the activity. Despite facing several obstacles, such as student discipline and the accuracy of notes in playing music, the efforts made by coaches and coaches were able to overcome them. The implication of this study is the importance of paying attention to these activities to ensure the smooth running and for students involved in Drumband activities.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the song structure used in the song Bendera. This research method is a qualitative method with a systematic content analysis approach, objectivity and generalization. Data collection techniques through literature study and laboratory work. Data analysis techniques are carried out from the stages of listening to recordings, playing melodies, transcribing songs, analyzing song structures, describing and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the song Bendera shows that the structure of the song is a song with a three-part form (A-B-C) which is a development in the form of a period (A-B-B'-Bridge-C-C1). There are four basic rhythmic motifs and melodic motifs that make up the song Bendera, there are 9 types, namely m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t and u which are then developed by processing the motifs so that 10 types of motifs emerge, namely n1, o1, o2 , o3, r1, s1, t1, u1, u2, and u3. There are 11 phrases in the Bendera song, including five antecedent phrases and six consequent phrases. Cadences found in the Bendera song include perfect cadences, half cadences, half plagal cadences and deviant cadences. The lyrics and melody in the song Bendera are filled in a neumatic form where each word is filled with several notes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the guitar techniques and melody in Garoto's *"Tristezas de um Violão"* (Choro Triste No. 1), arranged by Paulo Bellinati. The focus is on identifying classical guitar techniques such as barre, arpeggio, and glissando, and exploring the uniqueness of the melody. Using a descriptive approach and literature study method, data were collected through observation, documentation, and processing of primary and secondary sources. The results reveal that Garoto applied innovative and expressive guitar techniques, emphasizing technical and aesthetic elements that enhance the choro genre. Techniques like smooth glissando and dynamic arpeggios reflect a distinct and emotional playing style. Additionally, the melody structure demonstrates Garoto's creativity in blending traditional and modern elements. In conclusion, this study provides a deep understanding of Garoto's playing style, its relevance to classical guitarists, and its contribution to the choro music genre. The interpretation of the techniques and melodies offers valuable insights for music enthusiasts and inspiration for further development of guitar techniques.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the drill method in learning the Main Instrument Practice (PIP) of electric guitar for class XI students at SMKN 7 Padang. The research method used is a descriptive research method that focuses on the drill method in learning PIP electric guitar at SMKN 7 Padang. The results of this study make students focus, actively practice, and get the opportunity to correct mistakes with direct guidance from the teacher using the drill method. This method allows teachers to monitor student development directly, so that the learning process becomes more focused. During learning, students showed a high enthusiasm for learning, which not only improved their guitar playing skills but also created an active and dynamic classroom atmosphere. Teaching and learning activities ran smoothly, triggering student enthusiasm in following the lesson. The use of fingering, picking, and pentatonic scale technique materials is very appropriate, because this material is the basis for playing electric guitar well and correctly. By learning these basic techniques, students will understand the basic techniques of playing electric guitar and can improve their individual abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tantangan dan strategi yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan inklusi di kelas VIII SMP N 30 Padang. Tujuan penelitian kualitatif yaitu untuk menjelaskan dan menggambarkan bagaimana proses pembelajaran yang dihadapi guru seni budaya terhadap siswa inklusif. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama, dibantu dengan intrumen pendukung seperti alat tulis, kamera dan perekam suara. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pendidikan inklusif adalah layanan pendidikan yang tidak membedakan latar belakang dan memenuhi kebutuhan semua siswa tanpa membedakan siswa reguler atau berkebutuhan khusus.  Implementasi pendidikan inklusif memerlukan adanya keterlibatan dan dukungan seluruh komponen dari berbagai pihak terutama guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyaknya tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru seni budaya dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan inklusif pada pembelajaran musik tradisional Talempong Pacik di antaranya, tantangan yang berkaitan dengan siswa, tantangan yang berkaitan dengan guru dan tantangan yang berkaitan dengan instrumen serta teknik penilaian pembelajaran dan strategi yang diterapkan oleh guru seni budaya terlihat belum memenuhi kriteria untuk mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran musik Saluang di SMP Sahara Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan dibantu dengan instrumen pendukung seperti alat tulis dan kamera. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Langkah-langkah menganalisis data adalah mengumpulan data, mendeskripsikan data dan menyimpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran musik Saluang di SMP Sahara Padang sudah sesuai dengan perencanaan yang ada dalam modul ajar, hanya pelaksanaan pembelajaran belum berjalan dengan baik dan optimal. Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru kurang pandai dalam mengelola kelas seperti tidak memberikan umpan balik pertanyaan dan penguatan positif. sehingga berdampak pada capaian hasil belajar siswa yang sedikit menurun. Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru hanya menggunakan metode ceramah dan membaca buku paket tanpa menjabarkan dan menjelaskan materi dalam penyampaian pembelajaran. Kurangnya keseriusan siswa dalam proses belajar dan masih banyak peserta didik yang belum bisa memainkan alat musik tradisional Bansi tersebut. Berdasarkan evaluasi masih banyak peserta didik yang belum belum bisa memainkan alat musik Bansi tersebut. Implementation of Traditional Music Learning (Saluang) at Sahara Padang Junior High School This research aims to describe the implementation process of Saluang music learning at Sahara Junior High School Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive method. The instrument of this research is the researcher himself and assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and camera. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation studies and literature studies. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, describing data and concluding data. The results showed that the process of implementing Saluang music learning at SMP Sahara Padang was in accordance with the planning in the teaching module, only the implementation of learning had not gone well and optimally. In the implementation of learning, the teacher is not good at managing the class, such as not providing question feedback and positive reinforcement, which has an impact on the achievement of student learning outcomes which have decreased slightly. In the implementation of learning, the teacher only uses the lecture method and reads the package book without describing and explaining the material in the delivery of learning. The lack of seriousness of students in the learning process and there are still many students who cannot play the traditional Bansi musical instrument. Based on the evaluation, there are still many students who have not been able to play the Bansi musical instrument.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band di SMAN 1 Lebong. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan dibantu dengan instrumen pendukung seperti alat tulis dan kamera. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Langkah-langkah menganalisis data adalah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah program ekstrakurikuler drum band di SMAN 1 Lebong masih berjalan dengan baik hingga saat ini. Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band dilaksanakan secara bertahap, dimulai dengan mengumpulkan dan menyeleksi siswa yang berminat mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band, membuat jadwal, agenda latihan serta penyediaan materi. Kegiatan esktrakurikuler drum band di SMAN 1 Lebong tahun ajaran 2023/2024 semester 2 dilaksanakan sebanyak 7 pertemuan. Hasil yang telah dicapai dalam pelaksanaan eksktrakurikuler drum band di SMAN 1 Lebong dimana siswa secara bersama dapat memainkan materi latihan yang diberikan oleh pelatih dan pembina. Instrumen trumpet di SMAN 1 Lebong tidak digunakan karena adanya persepsi bahwa bermain trumpet itu sulit serta tidak adanya pelatih yang kompeten untuk instrumen trumpet. The result of this research is that the drum band extracurricular program at SMAN 1 Lebong is still running well until now. Drum band extracurricular activities are carried out in stages, starting with collecting and selecting students who are interested in participating in drum band extracurricular activities, making schedules, training agendas and providing materials. Drum band extracurricular activities at SMAN 1 Lebong in the academic year 2023/2024 semester 2 were carried out as many as 7 meetings. The results that have been achieved in the implementation of extracurricular drum band at SMAN 1 Lebong where students together can play the training material provided by the coach and coach. The trumpet instrument at SMAN 1 Lebong is not used because of the perception that playing the trumpet is difficult and there is no competent trainer for the trumpet instrument. Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa, terutama dalam bidang Pendidikan Musik, di mana kemampuan untuk menyusun karya tulis ilmiah yang baik sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan akademik dan profesional. Namun, banyak mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan dalam penulisan, termasuk kesulitan dalam merumuskan ide, memahami struktur penulisan, dan mengelola waktu yang terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karya tulis ilmiah mahasiswa Pendidikan Musik melalui pendekatan penelitian tindakan yang terstruktur. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan tiga tahap: pra-tindakan, tindakan, dan pasca-tindakan, dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei, workshop, dan sesi umpan balik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat peningkatan dalam penguasaan materi dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa, keterampilan menulis dan proses penulisan masih berada pada kategori yang kurang memuaskan. Hal ini menandakan perlunya lebih banyak sesi praktik dan dukungan berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting tentang kondisi keterampilan menulis mahasiswa Pendidikan Musik dan menawarkan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih efektif. Dengan demikian, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tuntutan akademik dan profesional di masa depan. Improving Academic Writing Skills of Music Education Students: An Action Research in Bandung City Writing skills are an essential competency that students must possess, especially in the field of Music Education, where the ability to compose a well-structured scientific paper significantly impacts academic and professional success. However, many students face challenges in writing, including difficulties in formulating ideas, understanding writing structure, and managing limited time. This study aims to enhance the writing skills of Music Education students through a structured action research approach. The research method involves three stages: pre-action, action, and post-action, with data collection through surveys, workshops, and feedback sessions. The results indicate that although there is an improvement in students' mastery of the material and their confidence, writing skills and the writing process still remain in the unsatisfactory category. This suggests the need for more practice sessions and ongoing support to address the challenges faced by students. This research provides important insights into the writing skill conditions of Music Education students and offers recommendations for more effective curriculum development. Thus, it is hoped that this study can contribute to improving the quality of education and the readiness of students to meet academic and professional demands in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran seni musik pada materi musik tradisional berbasis seruling bambu Kerinci di SMP 48 Satu Atap Kerinci. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan dalam empat pertemuan, dengan tujuan utama: (1) mengenalkan karakteristik musik tradisional Kerinci, khususnya seruling bambu; (2) mengidentifikasi struktur fisik serta teknik dasar memainkannya; (3) memainkan pola nada sederhana; dan (4) menciptakan serta menampilkan aransemen sederhana dalam format pertunjukan kelompok. Hasil pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan musikal, tetapi juga membangun apresiasi serta sikap positif terhadap kebudayaan lokal. Temuan penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa pembelajaran seni berbasis budaya lokal dapat menjadi sarana yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa sekaligus melestarikan warisan budaya daerah. Metode pembelajaran ini direkomendasikan untuk diadopsi secara lebih luas, dengan dukungan kebijakan pendidikan yang responsif terhadap kearifan lokal. The Implementation of the Discovery Learning Method in Music Learning at Atap Kerinci 48 Junior High School This study aims to describe the process of music education focused on traditional music using the Kerinci bamboo flute at SMP Negeri 48 Satu Atap Kerinci. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The learning process was carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The instruction was conducted over four sessions, with the main objectives being to: (1) introduce the characteristics of Kerinci traditional music, particularly the bamboo flute; (2) identify its physical structure and basic playing techniques; (3) play simple melodic patterns; and (4) create and perform simple arrangements in group performance formats. The results show that students not only gained conceptual understanding and musical skills but also developed appreciation and a positive attitude toward local culture. The findings indicate that culturally-based arts education can serve as an effective means to enhance student competencies while simultaneously preserving regional cultural heritage. This teaching method is recommended for broader adoption, supported by educational policies that are responsive to local wisdom. Keywords: Discovery Learning, Music Learning, Traditional Music.
