Abstract

Cahaya Ganda Gindi is a nickel company engaged in nickel mining. PT. Cahaya Ganda Gindi's nickel ore mining is currently in the operational stage with topsoil stripping and overburden excavation activities, laterite nickel mining, and laterite nickel transportation. There are community activities around the mining site so the environmental conditions need to be maintained and maintained so that the activities of residents in the area are not disturbed. Topsoil stripping and overburden excavation activities, as well as laterite nickel mining activities have an impact on decreasing the quality of surface water and seawater quality. This decrease in water quality is due to increased surface water flow/erosion from the mine front. The implementation of this seawater quality test is carried out by taking seawater samples at several points and then conducting laboratory tests to determine the quality of the seawater in the hope that the community will know the quality of the seawater around them so that mitigation steps can be determined if pollution exceeds the specified quality standards

Abstract

A settlement is a residential environment where humans live and carry out activities that support their livelihoods. A house is a part of the place where people live. A house with healthy physical conditions is an indicator of the achievement of community welfare. The settlement is located in the coastal area of Tambakrejo Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency. This study aims to analyze the health level of residents' houses using qualitative methods through observation and interviews. Healthy criteria in the arrangement of space utilization for personal and communal spaces are based on the Healthy House Principles set by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR). The results show that the houses in the Coastal Settlement of Sendang Biru are categorized as healthy, in accordance with PUPR regulations.

Abstract

This research examines natural ventilation strategies in traditional houses of the Bajo tribe in Lemo Bajo Village, Lembo District, North Konawe Regency. The study aims to identify and analyze natural ventilation patterns applied to traditional Bajo tribal houses and their impact on occupants’ thermal comfort. The research method uses qualitative and quantitative approaches with direct measurements of temperature, humidity, and wind speed at several points inside and outside the building. The results show that the natural ventilation design of Bajo tribal houses has unique characteristics formed from adaptation to the coastal climate. Proper opening applications, building orientation according to wind direction, and local materials contribute to creating a comfortable thermal environment. This research provides recommendations for developing more optimal natural ventilation designs in traditional Bajo tribal houses.

Abstract

PT. Cahaya Ganda Gindi is a nickel company engaged in lateritic nickel mining. The company's nickel ore mining activities have now entered the operational phase, including topsoil stripping, overburden removal, lateritic nickel mining, and lateritic nickel transportation. The mining area, which is located close to residential settlements, has some impact on community activities. Therefore, these impacts need to be managed to prevent disturbances to the daily activities of local residents. The production activities, which involve overburden stripping and lateritic nickel ore extraction using heavy machinery, inevitably generate high levels of noise that may affect the hearing of nearby residents. Noise level testing is conducted in the mining area, jetty, and residential areas by measuring noise levels at specific points. The collected data is then analyzed to determine whether the noise levels remain within the permissible limits. The goal is to ensure that the noise does not exceed the established threshold, allowing the community to carry out their activities normally.
