Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of brand image as a moderating variable in the relationship between influencer credibility and electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) on purchase decisions in online marketplaces. The increasing influence of social media and digital marketplaces highlights the importance of understanding how source credibility and brand perception affect consumer purchasing behavior. This research employs an explanatory quantitative approach by distributing online questionnaires to 40 active users of online marketplaces. The data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test both the direct and moderating effects. The results reveal that influencer credibility and E-WOM have a positive and significant impact on purchase decisions. Furthermore, brand image significantly moderates the relationship between these variables and purchase decisions. These findings indicate that a strong brand image enhances the effectiveness of digital promotional messages in shaping consumer purchasing decisions. This study contributes to the development of digital marketing theory by positioning brand image as a moderating variable that plays a crucial role in the interaction between source credibility and consumer behavior. Practically, the results provide strategic implications for companies to build a consistent brand image, select credible influencers, and manage authentic E-WOM to increase purchase decisions in online marketplaces.

Abstract

Influencers are an important element in digital marketing because they are able to introduce products while shaping perceptions that influence purchasing decisions. However, previous studies have focused on industries such as fashion and have not yet linked influencer credibility with parasocial interaction. This study analyzes the influence of YouTube and Instagram influencers on consumer purchase intentions for Eiger products, using Fiersa Besari as the object. Specifically, this study examines the role of parasocial interaction (PSI) between the audience and Fiersa Besari, and perceived influencer credibility in increasing purchase intention. Physical attractiveness, social attractiveness, attitude homophily, and expertise are also examined as elements that strengthen credibility and parasocial interaction. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey of 200 active followers of Fiersa Besari on YouTube and Instagram. The data is analyzed using SmartPLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that all hypotheses are significant. This means that the higher the credibility and emotional bond of the audience with the influencer, the greater the likelihood of purchasing the promoted product. These findings enrich the influencer marketing literature and provide practical insights for companies in selecting the right influencers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital technology on the operational performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on e-commerce platforms with supply chain integration mediation. The digital technologies referred to include the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which play a role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 198 MSME players in Indonesia who run their businesses through e-commerce platforms. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through SmartPLS software. The results show that digital technology has a positive impact on supply chain integration, both internally, with suppliers, and with customers. Supply chain integration has also been proven to have a significant impact on improving the operational performance of MSMEs. In addition, the supply chain integration variable acts as a mediator between digital technology and operational performance. These findings confirm that the application of digital technology supported by strong supply chain integration can drive increased efficiency, responsiveness, and competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamic interactions between Bitcoin (BTC), the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (DJIMI), and the FTSE SGX Shariah 100 Index (FTSGS100) from 2015 to 2025, employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to analyze both short- and long-term relationships. The Johansen cointegration test indicates a long-term equilibrium among the three variables, with DJIMI showing a stronger connection to Bitcoin compared to FTSGS100. In the short run, Bitcoin exhibits a strong response to its own shocks, whereas the Sharia indices are more stable and less responsive to short-term fluctuations in Bitcoin’s volatility. The findings underscore the weak integration between global Sharia equity markets and digital assets, positioning Bitcoin as a speculative asset largely independent of Sharia-compliant markets. These results suggest the importance of enhanced risk management and portfolio diversification strategies for investors navigating the rapidly changing financial landscape. Additionally, this research enhances our understanding of the interactions between cryptocurrency markets and traditional financial markets, particularly Sharia-compliant indices, during times of global financial uncertainty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of salary satisfaction and career development on turnover intention among Gen Z in Indonesia. The phenomenon of high turnover intention, especially among Gen Z employees, has a significant impact on the sustainability of company human resource systems. This study examines the relationship between salary satisfaction, career development, and the intention to leave the job among young employees. Turnover intention can be minimized by paying close attention to optimal salary satisfaction and employee career development. The purpose of this research is to empirically understand the influence of salary satisfaction and career development in explaining the turnover intention of Gen Z employees in Indonesia. The research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative approach through a survey of 202 respondents. The variables examined include salary satisfaction, career development, and turnover intention. Data analysis was performed using the SEM-PLS method to test the relationships among the variables. The results show that salary satisfaction and career development have a significant effect on turnover intention. In conclusion, salary satisfaction and career development significantly influence turnover intention: the higher the level of salary satisfaction and the stronger the respondents’ perception of career development opportunities provided by the company, the lower their desire to leave the job. Conversely, when salary satisfaction and career development are low, employees’ intention to leave the company tends to increase.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of strategic supplier partnerships and customer relationships on supply chain responsiveness and their subsequent impact on operational performance within Indonesia’s petrochemical and plastic sectors. A quantitative approach using structural equation modeling was applied to data collected from 170 supply chain professionals. The results indicate that both strategic supplier partnerships and customer relationships significantly improve supply chain responsiveness, which positively drives operational performance. However, demand uncertainty weakens these relationships, reducing the effectiveness of collaborative practices under volatile market conditions. The findings extend the literature by demonstrating how demand uncertainty shapes the effectiveness of relational strategies in volatile emerging markets. The unique contribution of this study lies in empirically validating a moderated mediation model that integrates relational, capability based, and environmental perspectives, offering practical insights for enhancing supply chain resilience.

Abstract

Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects place a single contractor in charge of design, materials and construction under tight time and cost targets. In Indonesia many projects also rely on subcontractor labor and owner supplied materials, which increases coordination risk. PT GTU experienced a failure on a piping project for a paper mill in Riau, known as BM4. This thesis examines why the project moved away from its plan and what kind of project management system could have reduced the likelihood of failure. BM4 is analysed as a single case. The study assumes that complex projects usually fail because of an accumulation of management choices rather than one event. It aims to identify the key factors behind the failure using the six project constraints as a frame, to explain how they affected schedule, site readiness, subcontractors and cash flow, and to develop a project management system tailored to GTU. A qualitative design is used. Data comes from semi structured interviews with seven internal stakeholders and from supporting project documents. The material is coded by project constraints, analyzed using Current Reality Trees to link visible symptoms to root causes, and compared with selected PMBOK Guide Sixth Edition processes as a benchmark for expected practice. The results indicate three main root causes: lack of project leadership and discipline, absence of formal change control and unrealistic schedule and resource baselines. Together they explain the difficulties in BM4, including unstable subcontractor manpower, coordination problems and repeated quality issues. The thesis concludes by proposing a practical project management system for GTU that clarifies governance routines, introduces an integrated change control procedure and strengthens rules for setting and updating baselines to support future EPC projects.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of trends, collaborations, and research frameworks on tax compliance in developed and developing countries from 2014 to 2024. The research sample comprises 109 articles on tax compliance from developed countries and 758 from developing countries, identified in the Scopus database using the PRISMA approach. This study uses bibliometric analysis with the RStudio tool to identify the evolution of themes, author and institutional networks, and keyword visualisation and citation patterns. The results show that developed countries publish more articles on tax administration systems, governance stability, and economic structure analysis. In contrast, developing countries focus more on governance issues, corruption challenges, the information sector, and institutional capacity. In addition, there are disparities in the participation of developing countries in global research networks, including differences in topic emphasis and international collaboration. This study emphasises the importance of integrating qualitative and quantitative analysis to improve understanding of structural issues related to tax compliance and to inform future tax policy strategies.

Abstract

Taxpayer compliance is a crucial factor in optimizing state revenue and sustaining fiscal policy. This study aims to analyze the influence of Non-Taxable Income (PTKP), tax rates, and regulatory literacy on individual taxpayer compliance, and to examine the role of regulatory literacy as a moderating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with regression analysis on individual taxpayer respondent data in selected regions. The results indicate that PTKP, tax rates, and regulatory literacy have a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance. Furthermore, regulatory literacy has been shown to strengthen the relationship between PTKP policy and taxpayer compliance, but does not moderate the effect of tax rates on compliance. These findings indicate that proportional fiscal policy, reasonable rates, and a sound understanding of regulations play a crucial role in fostering tax compliance. From an Islamic economic perspective, a fair, transparent, and maslahah-oriented fiscal policy aligns with the principles of al-'adl and amanah (trustworthiness), ensuring that tax compliance is not merely administrative but also a moral responsibility. This study recommends improving regulatory literacy as a strategic effort to strengthen taxpayer compliance sustainably.

Abstract

Industrial and educational growth in Batam City has increased energy consumption, carbon emissions, and waste, including at private universities (PTS) that have not yet fully implemented environmentally friendly practices. The gap between green policies and campus environmental performance still exists due to the low contribution of human resources in supporting sustainability, particularly through green organizational culture (GOC) and green work engagement (GWE). This study aims to analyze the influence of green human resource management (GHRM) on environmental performance (EP) at PTS in Batam and to examine the mediating role of GOC and GWE. A total of 260 respondents from UIB, UPB, and UIS were involved through an online questionnaire in December 2024–March 2025, with 26 measurement items on the variables of GHRM, GWE, GOC, and EP using a five-point Likert scale. The analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM through SmartPLS 4.0. The results showed that all indicators were valid and reliable, with outer loading values above 0.7, AVE exceeding 0.5, and reliability above 0.9. The main findings show that GHRM has a positive effect on GWE, GOC, and EP, while GWE and GOC also have a significant effect on EP. This confirms that green work culture and engagement are important mechanisms that bridge the implementation of GHRM in improving campus environmental performance. Overall, this study shows that effective GHRM integration can strengthen environmentally oriented organizational behavior and culture, thereby promoting improved environmental performance at private universities in Batam City.
