Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peluang serta tantangan dalam ekspor ikan patin (Pangasius sp.) dari Provinsi Jawa Timur ke Arab Saudi pada periode 2019–2023. Permintaan produk perikanan di Arab Saudi, khususnya produk halal, terus meningkat seiring pertumbuhan populasi, pendapatan, dan kesadaran konsumen terhadap pangan sehat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus, serta mengadopsi analisis SWOT sebagai kerangka analisis. Data diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi dari sumber sekunder resmi dan wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan staff Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat tiga peluang utama dan tiga tantangan besar dalam kegiatan ekspor. Peluang meliputi meningkatnya permintaan ikan halal, dukungan kebijakan bilateral, dan keunggulan produk patin Jawa Timur yang telah memenuhi standar sertifikasi internasional. Tantangan yang dihadapi antara lain regulasi mutu dan halal yang ketat, infrastruktur logistik yang belum merata, serta kompetisi ekspor dari Vietnam dan Thailand.

Abstract

Artikel ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana tantangan yang dihadapi oleh BP3MI Provinsi Kepulauan Riau dalam menangani proses pemulangan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI), terutama PMI berstatus non-prosedural dan ilegal. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap pejabat BP3MI, mantan PMI, serta pihak terkait lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa BP3MI menghadapi kendala berupa maraknya PMI ilegal tanpa dokumen dan pelatihan, perbedaan sistem hukum antara Indonesia dan negara tujuan PMI, serta keterbatasan aksesibilitas dan koordinasi antarlembaga. Meskipun regulasi telah tersedia, implementasinya masih lemah karena kurangnya sosialisasi dan pengawasan. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya pendekatan terpadu dari berbagai pihak untuk memperkuat perlindungan dan pemberdayaan bagi PMI.

Abstract

This final project is based on the author's project during a social campaign titled "Social Campaign to Change the Behavior of Dharma Andalas University Students Towards Plastic Bottle Waste on Instagram." The issue of plastic bottle waste is an urgent environmental concern. Universities, as centers of education, play a vital role in shaping environmentally conscious student behavior. This social campaign aims to raise awareness among Dharma Andalas University students about the negative impacts of plastic bottle waste and encourage behavioral change towards using tumblers as a more environmentally friendly alternative. This campaign utilizes a visual communication approach through the TikTok and Instagram platforms. The author served as the creator of 1-minute advertising videos, encompassing the processes of filming and editing, designing banners and brochures, and actively participating in campaign activities for 60 days, from December 15th to February 15th. The campaign successfully increased student understanding of the plastic bottle waste issue and shifted their attitudes towards single-use plastic bottles, transitioning them to using tumblers. Challenges the author faced during the project included aligning creative ideas with the campaign's objectives and target audience. Production obstacles included limited resources, inadequate equipment, and tight schedules. Additionally, the editing process was time-consuming with repeated revisions. The process of synchronizing the voices of Mutiara and Rani in the conversation at 0:27-0:40 was particularly challenging to ensure accurate lip-sync. Once the video was completed, the next challenge was gaining viewership, especially among Dharma Andalas University students who may not all be connected through social media across different departments. After uploading, the advertisement video had to compete with thousands of other content pieces on the social media platforms.

Abstract

This scientific paper aims to discuss the handling of refugees and asylum seekers at the Tanjungpinang Central Immigration Detention Center (RUDENIM) in 2023-2024. The approach of this research is qualitative by collecting data through in-depth interviews and observations at RUDENIM. The results of the study show that RUDENIM strives to provide the best protection and service despite experiencing various obstacles. Some of the main obstacles include limited facilities, insufficient human resources, and limited capacity. In addition, long-term detention and lack of psychological facilities are also major challenges for refugees. RUDENIM works closely with international organizations such as UNHCR and IOM to ensure basic needs, such as food, shelter, and health services, are met. However, there is still a need for improved coordination between related agencies and improvements in terms of facilities and management so that refugee rights can be protected.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of technological innovation on public satisfaction in public service delivery through a literature review approach. In the digital era, the use of technologies such as e-government and e-services has become a key strategy to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service quality. Based on the analysis of five relevant journal articles, three showed effective implementation of digital technology, resulting in improved public satisfaction. However, two journals revealed suboptimal outcomes due to obstacles such as limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and insufficient socialization. These findings suggest that the success of technological innovation in public services highly depends on technical readiness, policy support, and the public’s ability to utilize digital services.

Abstract

Plastic waste, especially single use plastic beverage bottles, poses a significant challenge in environmental conservation efforts. This study aims to design and implement a social campaign to change the attitudes od Dharma Andalas University students towards the use single use plastic bottles through the circular economy concept. The methods used in this campaign include distributing brochures, installing banners, interpersonal communication, focus discussion group (FGD), and creating educational content on social medi instagram. Tthe evaluation results show that the campaign successfully increased students awareness of the negative environmental impacts of plastic bottle waste. As many as 85,7% of students stated that this campaign had a significant influence on their behavior change in reducing the use of single use plastic bottles and switching to reusable water bottles (tumbler). This social campaign demonstrates that effective communication strategies can drive environmental friendly attitude and behavior changes among university students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the director’s involvement across pre-production, production, and post-production stages in the promotional video for the Communication Science Study Program at Dharma Andalas University. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the data were collected through observation and documentation. The results show that a successful promotional video relies heavily on directing strategies that harmonize narrative, visuals, and emotional resonance. The director plays a critical role in concept development, talent direction, visual aesthetics, and production coordination to deliver a communicative and engaging video. This study emphasizes the director’s position not only as a technical guide but also as a creative leader translating institutional messages into visual form. Challenges such as equipment limitations, scheduling, and adapting to social media trends can be overcome through innovative directing. The resulting video is expected to enhance the program’s competitiveness among higher education institutions..

Abstract

This article discusses the strategy of empowering Indonesian migrant workers through the role of BP3MI in improving the welfare of Indonesian migrant workers. This research uses a qualitative method with an interview approach and literature study to obtain data and a comprehensive picture of efforts to protect, empower, and improve the quality of life of migrant workers. In addition, the article also discusses the challenges faced, such as the high number of illegal migrant workers and the need for legal protection and adequate access to information for migrant workers. It is hoped that, through the role of BP3MI and the enforcement of official procedures, the welfare of migrant workers can be optimally improved and their rights thoroughly protected.

Abstract

Citizen journalism in the 2024 Regional Head Election in Wakatobi Regency is an interesting phenomenon as a form of public participation in the democratic process. With the development of digital technology, people no longer only act as consumers of information, but also as producers of political information through social media and digital platforms. This research aims to identify the role of citizen journalism in increasing public participation in the implementation of Regional Head Elections in Wakatobi Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and content analysis of citizen journalism circulating during the 2024 Regional Head Election campaign period. The research subjects involved citizen journalism actors, active voters, and stakeholders. Data analysis techniques were carried out through data reduction. The results showed that citizen journalism contributed significantly to increasing transparency, political education and social control during the Wakatobi Regional Head Election. People were more active in voicing issues of violations, political discrimination, and mass mobilization through videos and social media posts. However, the main challenge remains low digital literacy and the risk of spreading disinformation. Synergy between professional journalists and citizen journalism is needed to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of information. With citizen journalism, the people of Wakatobi have shown a role transformation from passive voters to active actors in maintaining the integrity of the democratic process. This research recommends the need for increased media literacy capacity and multi-stakeholder synergy so that citizen journalism can become a tool for strengthening inclusive and responsible local democracy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Indonesia's immigration policy in addressing human trafficking as a form of transnational crime. Using a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, this study explores immigration policy strategies and their implementation in the field. Data was obtained through a literature review of legal documents and official publications from relevant institutions. The results of the study show that although the government has adopted legal and non-legal policies to combat human trafficking, their implementation still faces various obstacles, such as limited human resources, lack of inter-agency integration, weaknesses in the information technology system, and legal loopholes related to human trafficking. In addition, Indonesia's geographical location as an archipelagic country further exacerbates the effectiveness of surveillance in border areas. This study recommends the need to strengthen specific regulations related to human trafficking, improve human resource and information technology capacity, optimize inter-agency coordination, and enhance the quality and security of travel documents. A comprehensive and integrated approach is necessary to ensure that immigration policies can be implemented effectively and sustainably in addressing the crime of human trafficking.
