Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in improving the quality of human resources, particularly in geographically remote rural areas such as Teta Village Lambitu District Bima Regency. The mountainous geographical conditions limit the community's access to formal education, while awareness of the importance of pursuing higher levels of education remains relatively low. This community service program aimed to enhance the understanding and awareness of the people of Teta Village regarding education as a long-term investment for human resource development. The program employed a participatory socialization approach through lectures, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions involving parents, young people, community leaders, religious leaders, and village officials. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure changes in participants' understanding. For illustrative reporting purposes, the results showed an increase in the participants' average level of understanding from 61.8% in the pre-test to 88.6% in the post-test, representing an improvement of 26.8 percentage points. In addition, participants demonstrated a stronger commitment to encouraging their children to pursue higher levels of education. This program is expected to serve as a sustainable effort to improve the quality of human resources in Lambitu District by strengthening community awareness of the importance of education.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM/Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in Bojonegoro have experienced significant development over time, which requires entrepreneurs to continue to develop and innovate. This Community Service activity aims to better prepare UMKM for digital adoption, particularly Generative AI adoption. The primary objective is to identify issues that arise when using digital technology, such as the use of Generative AI for UMKM businesses. The implementation method used for this community service is direct assistance to 5 UMKM and mapping problems using Problem Tree Analysis. The findings of community service problems in UMKM are based on a problem tree analysis, such as constraints on technical, economic, and human resources aspects such as difficult to understand application language, paid applications, and UMKM unfamiliarity with digital technology. Action plans or solutions that can be implemented include ongoing mentoring for UMKM, free Generative AI optimization, and familiarization of UMKM to utilize digital technology.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a strategic competency for households in maintaining economic stability amidst the rapid digitalization of financial services. However, easy access to financial products carries potential risks, including excessive consumer debt, illegal online loans, digital fraud, and inadequate financial planning. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of housewives regarding financial protection, family financial management, emergency fund planning, responsible debt management, and awareness of illegal financial services. The activity was conducted in Beji District, Depok City, involving 22 participants through educational lectures, interactive discussions, and Q&A sessions. A post-activity questionnaire was used to evaluate participants' understanding and responses. The results demonstrated significant improvements in household budgeting, emergency fund preparedness, responsible debt management, and awareness of digital financial fraud risks. The program demonstrates that community-based financial literacy education is effective in strengthening household financial resilience.

Abstract

Bumi Pajo Village, Donggo Sub-district, Bima Regency, is the main producing area of canna (Canna edulis), locally known as kalo dana, yet most of the harvest is still sold as fresh tubers at low prices due to limited processing knowledge and business management skills. This community service program aimed to downstream canna tubers into a value-added food product, "Anyong Cookies," through the Integrated Local Agroindustry Empowerment Model (ILAEM). The program used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach comprising five stages: potential identification, product downstreaming, capacity building, business and digital marketing management, and sustainability development. Activities included flour-making training, cookies production, business feasibility analysis (HPP and BEP), brand and packaging development, and digital marketing assistance. Results showed substantial increases in participants' knowledge and skills, from an average of 8-32% before the program to 86-100% afterward, along with the establishment of a marketable product with its own brand and packaging. These findings indicate that integrating product innovation with entrepreneurship capacity building produces a more sustainable model for local food downstreaming and rural economic empowerment.

Abstract

Depressive disorders among high school students have become an urgent mental health issue, caused by various academic and social challenges, as well as the effects of bullying. Unfortunately, many students still struggle to recognize the early signs and are reluctant to seek help due to stigma. The “Bukancumasedih” initiative emerged as a promotive and preventive psychoeducational effort, utilizing interactive visual content via the Instagram account @bukancumasedih to efficiently reach adolescents. The program’s implementation approach included the creation of planned educational content, the administration of a pre-test and post-test, and the analysis of audience engagement. The results of this program show an increase in participants’ understanding, reflected in a rise in the acreage scores from 3.50 (pre-test) to 3.77 (post-test). All presented materials successfully exceeded interaction standards by receiving at least 10 likes per post. This initiative demonstrates that Instagram-based psychoeducation is effective in raising mental health awareness among adolescents through a casual and accessible approach.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 20 of 2025 on the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), effective January 2, 2026, marks a paradigm shift in Indonesia’s criminal justice system toward a due process of law approach emphasizing human rights protection. However, public legal literacy, particularly in peripheral areas such as Bima City, has not kept pace with these reforms. This community service initiative aimed to improve public understanding of new KUHAP while fostering dialogue among academics, law enforcement officials, and the community. Methods included participatory legal outreach, group discussions, case simulations, and pre-and post-test evaluations involving 112 participants. Findings showed improved understanding of expanded pretrial proceedings, suspect designation criteria, the right to legal counsel, and restorative justice, although procedural comprehension requires enhancement. Sustainable legal literacy programs through collaboration among universities, local governments, and law enforcement agencies, supported by context-specific educational modules, are recommended to promote effective implementation and strengthen human rights protection.

Abstract

Limited teacher digital skills meant that fine-motor learning media at Rabiatul Aulad Kindergarten largely relied on worksheets from books and the internet that were not always aligned with children's needs. This community service program aimed to improve teachers' ability to design fine-motor learning media using Canva. The program included needs identification, material delivery, demonstrations, guided practice, and evaluation through observation and a product rubric. Participants practiced developing coloring, line-tracing, picture-matching, pasting, cutting, and bead-pattern cards with difficulty levels adjusted to children's ages. After the training, participants could use basic Canva features, write instructions, arrange visual elements, and produce print-ready media. Several participants also applied their design skills to business promotional content. The findings indicate a descriptive change in participants' abilities, but no quantitative improvement can be claimed because structured pre- and post-tests were unavailable. Mentoring, a shared design library, quantitative evaluation, and classroom testing are recommended to sustain the program.

Abstract

This Community Service initiative aims to enhance the capacity of the coastal community in Gampong Punge Jurong through the downstream processing of fishery products and strengthening of agribusiness ventures. The challenges addressed include low value-added in fishery products, limited processing skills, weak business management, and suboptimal digital marketing. The program was implemented using a participatory approach involving outreach, training, demonstrations, and community mentoring. Activities focused on processing fishery products into value-added items—such as kemamah (traditional dried tuna) and fish meal—as well as training in packaging, business management, and digital marketing. The results indicate an improvement in the community's knowledge, skills, and motivation to develop fishery-based businesses. Collaboration between the Agribusiness Study Program at Jabal Ghafur University and the Agricultural Engineering Study Program at Syiah Kuala University facilitated technology transfer and community capacity building. The program fosters product diversification, increases the value-added of fishery products, and creates opportunities for income growth. Sustaining the program requires continued mentoring, institutional strengthening, product quality improvement, and the expansion of marketing networks.
