BATIK: Jurnal Pengembangan dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Multikultural adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Institut Riset dan Publikasi Indonesia (IRPI). Fokus utama dari Jurnal BATIK adalah hasil Penelitian, Pengabdian Masyarakat, Pengabdian Masyarakat Berbasis Riset dan Pengembangan Masyarakat secara Nasional. Jurnal BATIK terbit 3 (tiga) kali dalam satu tahun (April, Agustus dan Desember). Jurnal BATIK ditulis dengan menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia terdiri dari 6 sampai dengan 10 halaman A4, menggunakan manajemen referensi mendeley dan similarity/ plagaiarisme dibawah 20%. Penyerahan naskah pada Jurnal BATIK menggunakan sistem Open Journal System (OJS) dengan menggunakan format Microsoft Word (.doc atau .docx).

Abstract

The challenges of learning evaluation in the digital era demand efficiency and personalization. Google Forms (GF), although popular, has limited functionality when it comes to advanced automation, such as certificate creation, access restrictions, and complex notifications. This training aims to improve teachers' competency in utilizing Google Apps Script (GAS) to automate and develop GF-based learning evaluation instruments. The method used is Participatory Action Learning (PAL), which includes pre-tests, material delivery (lectures, demonstrations), independent practice, and post-tests. The results of the community service show significant improvements in teachers' understanding and skills in writing simple scripts, integrating GAS with GF and Google Sheets, and successfully creating automation solutions such as a system for sending quiz feedback and issuing digital certificates in real time. This increased competency has a direct impact on work efficiency and the quality of evaluation services to students.

Abstract

The urgency of this community service activity is based on the increasing threats to data security in the digital era, which demand the preparedness of human resources who are not only skilled in application and information system development, but also possess a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of data protection. Students of the Information Systems Study Program, Universitas Jambi, as future professionals in the field of information technology, need to be equipped not only with technical programming skills but also with a fundamental understanding of cryptographic concepts. One of the main foundations of modern cryptography is number theory, which includes topics such as prime factorization, congruence, and the use of large prime numbers. However, at the undergraduate level, mastery of these concepts is still relatively low and has not been widely applied in contextual settings. This community service activity aims to improve the literacy and competence of Information Systems students in understanding and applying number theory in data security systems. Through training and mentoring, students will be introduced to basic concepts of number theory and their implementation in simple cryptographic algorithms such as RSA, Diffie–Hellman, and encryption systems based on modular operations.

Abstract

Low literacy regarding Halal Product Assurance regulations and the perception that obtaining a certificate requires expensive fees are the main obstacles for the community and micro-business actors in the MIS Menjangan environment, Bojong District. In fact, halal certification is a crucial regulatory obligation to ensure product quality. This community service aims to provide education regarding the urgency and procedures for halal certification registration, specifically through the self-declare scheme. The method of implementation is carried out through socialization, interactive discussions, and simulation of using the SIHALAL application. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the difference between halal and haram ingredients and the easy and free registration flow through the SEHATI program. This activity succeeded in changing the participants' mindset, building legal awareness, and motivating business actors to immediately register their products to increase economic value and implement a halal lifestyle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan peralatan tradisional dalam proses pembuatan batik cap di Rumah Batik R, Sokaraja, Banyumas. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan metode studi kasus, data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi visual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peralatan tradisional seperti kompor tanah liat, wajan logam, canting cap tembaga, dan meja kayu masih digunakan secara konsisten. Peralatan tersebut memiliki nilai historis dan simbolik dalam kebudayaan lokal dan memenuhi standar teknis. Hasil penelitian tambahan menunjukkan bahwa Rumah Batik R mendukung pelestarian melalui pelatihan dan kelas untuk generasi muda, serta adaptasi pemasaran digital. Studi ini menekankan bahwa pelindungan dan pengembangan budaya lokal sangat penting untuk mengatasi tantangan modernisasi dalam industri kreatif.

Abstract

Students of the Informatics Department at Jambi University continue to face difficulties in understanding discrete mathematics and integer arithmetic, despite both being fundamental components of algorithmic logic and programming. These challenges negatively affect their ability to construct and analyze algorithms. This community service activity aims to provide focused training to strengthen students’ understanding of discrete structure concepts and integer arithmetic, as well as their applications in digital system development. The training was delivered through an applied approach using project-based learning and relevant case studies. The activity was attended by 73 students of the Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Jambi University. Based on the evaluation, 83.56% of participants reported being very satisfied with the training and stated that it was highly beneficial in reinforcing their understanding of discrete structures and integer arithmetic. Furthermore, post-activity test results showed that 54.80% of participants answered all questions correctly.

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik 63 Ekoteologi dan Pertanahan di Kelurahan Kedungwuni Barat merupakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berfokus pada penguatan administrasi pertanahan, literasi lingkungan, dan kapasitas sosial warga. Permasalahan utama meliputi rendahnya pemahaman tentang sertifikasi tanah wakaf, pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga yang belum optimal, serta keterbatasan edukasi karakter dan kesehatan sosial bagi anak dan remaja. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, studi literatur, dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat tentang sertifikasi tanah wakaf, meningkatnya kesadaran lingkungan melalui pemilahan sampah, pembuatan kompos, biopori, serta pemanfaatan sampah plastik menjadi paving block. Selain itu, wawasan sosial siswa juga meningkat melalui sosialisasi antibullying dan pencegahan kekerasan. Program ini mengintegrasikan pendekatan ekoteologi dengan edukasi pertanahan dan praktik lingkungan, serta berpotensi direplikasi meskipun membutuhkan keberlanjutan program.

Abstract

Learning nonlinear equation systems requires the integration of conceptual understanding and computational skills, which in practice remains a challenge for students due to the abstract nature of the material. This community service activity aims to improve students' understanding of nonlinear equation systems through the use of MATLAB Numeric GUI as an interactive learning medium. There were 23 students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Mataram participating in this activity. The implementation methods included concept socialization, GUI usage demonstrations, case-based independent practice, and direct mentoring. The evaluation system used three essay questions to measure mastery of concepts, numerical procedures, and MATLAB GUI usage skills. The evaluation results show that the average achievement of students is 70, with a maximum score of 80 and a minimum score of 60. The average score for the first question reached 68.67, increased to 69.33 for the second question, and increased again to 72.67 for the third question, showing a trend of increasing understanding by 4 points from the initial question to the final question. These findings indicate that the use of the MATLAB Numeric GUI can strengthen conceptual understanding, improve computational skills, and help visualize numerical processes more concretely in learning nonlinear equation systems.

Abstract

In this era of sophisticated technology, there is indeed a demand for any educational institution to present learning that is easy to understand and quickly absorbed by students. Likewise, Islamic boarding schools are also required to use technological facilities such as laptops and projectors to provide learning to students in their environment. Without following the development of existing technology, the learning that is carried out will be far behind. This article discusses the instillation of multicultural Islamic education at the Miftahul Huda Sekardangan Blitar Islamic Boarding School. The methods used in this community service include: the lecture method, question and answer method, simulation method, and assignment method. This community service activity aims to strengthen multicultural Islamic education for students (students) through classical books that have been taught to them every day traditionally. Strengthening multicultural Islamic education through modern technology learning such as laptops, power points, and projectors is very important so that books that are taught traditionally for months or even years can be easily absorbed through these media in a short time.
