Abstract

The advancement of Islamic science, which once dominated world civilization, was the culmination of the integration of the values of the spirit of Islamic teachings with science and technology, although the journey faced significant challenges. According to al-Attas, the greatest challenge facing Muslims in the Islamization of Islamic Science was the knowledge disseminated throughout the Islamic world by Western civilization. The Islamization of knowledge means the Islamization or purification of Western scientific products that have been developed and used as a reference in the discourse on the development of the Islamic education system in order to obtain a science that is "specifically Islamic." Al-Attas defines knowledge as a meaning that comes into the soul along with the soul's arrival at meaning and produces desires and self-will. Al-Attas defines the meaning of education as a process of instilling something into the human being and then emphasizes that something instilled is knowledge, and the purpose of seeking this knowledge is contained in the concept of ta’dib. Meanwhile, the goal of Islamic education is to instill virtue in the "human self" as an individual and as part of society. Ideally, Naquib wants Islamic education to be able to produce universally good people (al-insan al-kamil).

Abstract

In today's era of digital disruption, mastery of financial literacy and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a crucial competency for students to face complex global economic challenges. The integration of religious values into social science disciplines is seen as an effective, creative pedagogical strategy for building both character and analytical intelligence in students. This research is motivated by the lack of economics teaching materials in Madrasah Aliyah (MA) that can bridge modern economic theory with Islamic ethical foundations, as previous studies tended to separate the national curriculum and spiritual values. This study focuses on evaluating how integrated modules can impact the development of students' cognitive and affective aspects in understanding contemporary economic phenomena. The main objective of the research is to develop and test the feasibility and practicality of an economics module based on the integration of the Qur'an and Hadith at MA Sirojul Hikmah. Using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) Research and Development (R&D) model, this research involved validation by material and media experts, as well as a pilot test on 10th-grade students. The results showed that the module was deemed highly feasible by experts and received positive feedback from both teachers and students. Key findings identified that the use of sacred narratives as scaffolding in solving economic problems significantly increased learning enthusiasm and understanding of market ethics. The implications of this research confirm that reconstructing the economics syllabus through an integrative approach not only meets curriculum needs but also provides a pragmatic solution for developing students' moral resilience amidst the digital economy.

Abstract

The rapid shifts in the modern educational landscape have sparked growing concern about integrating moral values and academic success in Islamic elementary schools. This study aims to investigate the extent to which religious character and self-discipline serve as significant predictors of academic excellence among students in Islamic primary education. Employing a quantitative research design with a correlational approach, data were collected from a sample of students using Likert-scale questionnaires to measure character traits and standardized academic records to evaluate performance. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the relationships among variables. The findings reveal that both religious character and self-discipline have a positive and significant impact on students' academic achievement, with self-discipline emerging as the stronger predictor. These results suggest that high levels of spiritual adherence and personal consistency foster a conducive environment for cognitive development. In conclusion, fostering moral and behavioral discipline is essential for holistic student development. Schools are encouraged to integrate character-building programs into the core curriculum to sustain long-term academic excellence.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the constraints in collecting data on madrasah teachers and education personnel and to formulate improvement efforts in the context of data system transition within the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with operators at the central Ministry of Religious Affairs, operators at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and madrasah operators, supported by a review of relevant documentation. The data were analyzed thematically through the stages of condensation, categorization, theme identification, and interpretation. The findings show that the unpreparedness of data on teachers and education personnel is not caused by a single factor, but by a combination of system readiness, organizational readiness, and actor readiness. At the system level, problems emerged in the form of the transition from SIMPATIKA to EMIS GTK IMP that was not yet fully mature, incomplete data migration, incomplete features, slow servers, and suboptimal data integration across ministries or institutions. At the organizational level, the problems were reflected in the high workload of operators and the limited number of personnel. At the actor level, the constraints appeared in the varying competencies of operators and the low awareness of teachers and education personnel as data owners. This study recommends a gradual application transition, case-based technical assistance, strengthened helpdesk support, restructuring of operator workloads, periodic data verification by teachers and education personnel, data integration, and the development of processed data dashboards to support data-based policy-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of democratic leadership style and organizational culture on high school teachers' work motivation in Sumberejo District, both partially and simultaneously. The research is motivated by the decline in teachers' work motivation due to high workload, the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation, and the suboptimal application of leadership and organizational culture in schools. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of all high school teachers in Sumberejo District, with a sample of 57 teachers selected using cluster sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5) that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²) using SPSS. The results showed that: (1) democratic leadership style has a positive but not significant effect on teachers' work motivation (t-count = 1.730, sig. = 0.089 > 0.05); (2) organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on teachers' work motivation (t-count = 8.192, sig. = 0.000 < 0.05); (3) simultaneously, democratic leadership style and organizational culture have a significant effect on teachers' work motivation (F-count = 65.744, sig. = 0.000) with a contribution of 70.9% (R² = 0.709). This study concludes that organizational culture is the dominant factor in improving teachers' work motivation, while democratic leadership style alone is not sufficient. Therefore, strengthening organizational culture should be a priority in efforts to enhance teacher motivation and educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of learning management in improving the quality of education at MTs Al-Anshor Ketapang, South Lampung Regency. The research focuses on three main functions of learning management: planning (planning), implementation (actuating), and evaluation (controlling). This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The informants included the madrasah principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and students. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: (1) learning management has been implemented through planning, implementation, and evaluation, but is not yet fully optimal. Planning is still administrative and less contextual; implementation is still teacher-centered with limited methods; evaluation focuses on cognitive aspects without adequate follow-up. (2) Learning management contributes to improving the quality of education in terms of process order, learning outcomes, and discipline, but its effectiveness is not yet optimal due to gaps between planning and implementation. (3) Supporting factors include the availability of learning tools, principal support, teacher commitment, and student enthusiasm; inhibiting factors include limited variation in teaching methods, inadequate facilities, heterogeneity of student abilities, time constraints, and lack of evaluation follow-up. This study concludes that strengthening the integration of planning, implementation, and evaluation is essential for optimizing learning management and improving educational quality.
