Abstract

Mathematics requires a strong conceptual understanding, especially in ratios, which often challenge seventh-grade students. This study examines the impact of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model combined with KELMAT (Marble Mathematics) media on students' problem-solving skills. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design is employed. This study involves all seventh-grade students at SMP Ma'arif 1 Metro in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample is selected using cluster random sampling to ensure accurate representation. Research instruments include a problem-solving ability test and a student activity observation sheet. Data was collected through student activity observations and concept understanding tests. The analysis results indicate that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, as sig = 0.000 < α = 0.05. This indicates that the TGT model with KELMAT media significantly improves seventh-grade students' understanding of ratio concepts at SMP Ma'arif 1 Metro.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and strategies of school committees in improving educational quality at SMAN 1 Punduh Pedada. School committees hold a strategic position as key stakeholders in participatory and accountable educational management; however, their role is often still administrative rather than strategic. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving principals, teachers, committee members, and parents. The findings show that the school committee has performed its roles as an advisory, supporting, controlling, and mediating agency, but these roles have not been fully optimized. Committee involvement in decision-making remains limited and tends to occur only at the final stage. Supporting factors include institutional support and community participation, while inhibiting factors include limited human resource capacity, weak coordination and communication, and the absence of structured strategic planning. The strategies implemented are still adaptive and not yet systematic, although they reflect collaborative efforts with the school. Therefore, optimizing the role of school committees requires strengthening strategic planning, improving stakeholder capacity, and enhancing communication systems to support sustainable educational quality improvement

Abstract

This study is grounded in the challenges posed by globalization and the rapid acceleration of digital transformation, which necessitate the reconstruction of the Islamic Religious Education. curriculum to become more adaptive, contextual, and globally competitive. The existing Islamic Religious Education curriculum, which remains predominantly normative in orientation, has not yet fully succeeded in integrating 21st-century competencies with Islamic values in a comprehensive manner. Accordingly, this study aims to formulate a model for reconstructing a globally oriented Islamic Religious Education curriculum based on an integrative-transformative approach. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, conducted through a critical review of relevant and up-to-date scholarly literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis techniques to identify key concepts, patterns, and directions for curriculum development. The findings indicate that the reconstruction of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum should be carried out through the integration of Islamic values with global competencies, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy. The proposed model comprises four main dimensions: value, global competence, pedagogical, and evaluative dimensions, all of which are implemented through an integrative-transformative approach. Therefore, the reconstructed Islamic Religious Education curriculum is expected to produce graduates who are not only religiously grounded but also adaptive and globally competitive

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education in madrasahs faces increasingly complex global challenges, such as cultural globalization, the rapid development of digital technology, a crisis of humanitarian values, and shifts in students’ characteristics. These challenges demand a curricular approach that goes beyond a sole focus on the cognitive and normative aspects of Islamic teachings, placing greater emphasis on character development and the reinforcement of humanitarian values. This article aims to analyze the global challenges faced by contemporary Islamic education and to examine the implementation of a love-based curriculum in madrasahs as an alternative, humanistic, and transformative educational approach. The study employs a qualitative method through library research by analyzing various scholarly literature, Islamic educational concepts, and curriculum policy documents. The findings indicate that a love-based curriculum is relevant in addressing the global challenges of Islamic education by instilling values of compassion, empathy, tolerance, religious moderation, and social concern within the learning process. The implementation of a love-based curriculum in madrasahs is expected to shape learners who possess strong faith, noble character, and a balanced sense of social and spiritual awareness. Thus, a love-based curriculum becomes a vital strategy in strengthening the role of madrasahs as Islamic educational institutions that are adaptive to global developments without losing their Islamic identity.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology has significantly transformed family dynamics, necessitating a socio-pedagogical shift in Islamic character building (akhlaq) for early adolescents. This study investigates the parental practices, strategies, and socio-pedagogical challenges in digital mediation among parents of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Kuningan, Indonesia, aiming to construct a value-based Ethical-Digital Companion model. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with 19 parents. The findings reveal that parents perform five vital socio-pedagogical roles: technology regulators, information filters, educational rule enforcers, digital companions, and role models for digital ethics. The strategies employed include dialogic assistance, proactive regulation, and school-home partnerships, despite persistent challenges such as peer social pressure and parental digital literacy gaps in navigating intelligent technologies. The study concludes that cultivating Islamic character requires a paradigm shift from restrictive technical control to the Ethical-Digital Companion model. This framework contributes to Islamic interdisciplinary studies by synergizing socio-pedagogical strategies with transcendental ethical integrity, ultimately fostering akhlaq resilience in the AI era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by academic challenges such as low ecological awareness among students and the continued dominance of normative Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) learning that lacks contextualization of environmental and local cultural issues. On the other hand, the Reog culture of Ponorogo possesses ecological symbolic value that has the potential to be used as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education based on environmental conservation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of ecological fiqh learning through Reog, the internalization of ecological values in Reog cultural symbols and practices, and the enhancement of students' environmental awareness in the Ponorogo peacock conservation area. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study approach using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with source and technique triangulation to test data validity. The results indicate that ecological fiqh learning through Reog is implemented contextually through field observations, environmental conservation practices, and ecological cultural reflection, making learning more meaningful and applicable. The ecological values of the peacock symbol have been successfully internalized as a representation of ecosystem balance, wildlife conservation, and human responsibility as khalifah fil ardh (vicegerents on earth) in preserving the environment. Furthermore, learning based on local culture and environmental conservation has been proven to enhance students' environmental stewardship, demonstrated by increased concern for cleanliness, reforestation, wildlife conservation, and active involvement in community-based conservation activities. This research confirms that the integration of Islamic education, local culture, and environmental conservation can be a transformative learning model in shaping students' ecological character in a reflective, participatory, and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Learning the jurisprudence of prayer occupies a fundamental position in Islamic education at the elementary level because prayer is the main worship that serves as a pillar of religion and a means of forming the spiritual and moral character of students from an early age. The problem of teacher-centered fiqh learning is evident in the dominant role of the teacher in delivering the material, while students tend to be passive listeners without active involvement in the learning process. This condition causes fiqh learning to be more oriented towards memorizing concepts and conveying theories rather than understanding the meaning and practice of worship in depth. This study aims to analyze the application of the Deep Learning approach in learning the jurisprudence of prayer and its implications for improving the religious character of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 3 Ponorogo. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Deep Learning approach was able to create more meaningful, active, reflective, and contextual learning about the jurisprudence of prayer through direct practice, reflective discussions, and the habituation of daily worship. This learning has an impact on improving students' religious character as demonstrated through discipline in worship, prayer habits, polite attitudes, and increased spiritual awareness in everyday life. Successful implementation of learning is supported by the madrasa's religious culture, teacher competence, adequate worship facilities, and active student involvement. While inhibiting factors include limited learning time, differences in student characteristics, and lack of family support. Thus, the Deep Learning approach to teaching Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) prayer can be positioned as an effective Islamic education model for holistically shaping students' religious character.
