<![CDATA[This research aims to describe students’ ability in writing persuasive text before and after using group discussion method in class VIII students of SMPN 37 Medan. The research method used was experimental with one group pretest postest design. The instruments used were pretest and postest written tests. The results showed that before using the group discussion method, students’ ability in writing persuasive texts was still lacking with an average score 59,37. However, after using the group discussion method, students’ abilities improved to good with an average score of 77,73. Data analysis showed a significant effect of group discussion method on students’ persuasive text writing ability. This is evidenced by the result of statistical calculations that show the normality test of pretest and postest data is normally distributed, the homogeneity test states that the sample is homogeneous, and the hypothesis test rejects H0 and accepts Ha. This research implies that the group discussion method is effective in improving students’ persuasive text writing ability in class VIII of SMPN 37 Medan.]]>

<![CDATA[The use of regional languages in educational environments has a significant impact on the use of Indonesian. The findings show that the use of regional languages can influence Indonesian language skills, especially in academic contexts. In addition, the use of regional languages can also create communication gaps between individuals from different linguistic backgrounds. The implication of this research is the need for an approach strategy that combines the use of regional languages with strengthening the use of Indonesian as an official language in the educational environment. This research aims to determine the use of regional languages towards Indonesian, especially in the educational environment, as well as to determine and analyze measures to prevent the occurrence of mixed languages (regional languages and Indonesian). This research was conducted in an educational environment, especially at Medan State University. Through a quantitative research approach, data is collected through questionnaires that are direct comparisons between teenagers who often use regional languages and Indonesian simultaneously.]]>

<![CDATA[The research approach used is Classroom Action Research which is carried out in 2 cycles where each cycle is as many as 4 meetings, as for the learning steps given in the classroom action research approach, namely paying attention to teacher explanations, asking questions during discussions, collaborating with groups, presenting results and concluding material.The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes seen from the test results obtained by students each cycle increased, besides that student activity in the classroom also increased. This can be seen from the number of percentages in the first cycle of the first meeting only got a percentage of 57.6% and 84.61% in the second meeting in the second cycle of the previous one, this is because students do not understand the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. It was concluded that by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. In learning Civics class IV UPT SPF SD Inpres Bontomanai is able to improve student learning outcomes.]]>

<![CDATA[In the current era, digital learning media began to be developed along with the rapid development of information technology. Educators are indirectly required to make adjustments to the development of information technology-based learning media. Gudang Teks is a Indonesian learning media program designed through the world wide web precisely on google-sites which is a place for storage of negotiation text materials. With this, this study was conducted to analyze information technology-based learning media on the use of LMS in the form of google-sites under the name "Text Warehouse" in the negotiation text learning process at the Class X high school level. The research methods used in this study are qualitative descriptive methods based on data analysis and literature studies. The development model used in research uses the type of research and development or Research and Development (R &D) with the 4-D development method developed by S. Thiagarajan and consists of 4 main stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The Text Warehouse is also analyzed using SWOT analysis in the form of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats so that they can be further evaluated and considered in their use. The results of the analysis show that the Text Warehouse is quite feasible to be used in the negotiation text learning process, especially in grade X high school students.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesian is the official language of the Indonesian nation which is used by all Indonesian people. The increasingly rapid development of technology can influence society, one of which is the correct use of Indonesian, especially among students who often use slang. This research discusses the bad use of Indonesian language etiquette on social media, especially Tiktok. In this research, researchers used descriptive methods to identify language errors that occur on social media, especially on Tiktok. The aim of this research is to describe the use of toxic language in comments by content creators. The research results show that the use of Indonesian on social media, especially on TikTok, often experiences errors in spelling, diction and grammatical structure. These mistakes can lead to misunderstandings and ineffective use of language. The conclusion of this research shows that the unethical use of Indonesian on social media can have a negative impact on individuals. Therefore, more awareness and attention is needed in using Indonesian on social media in order to communicate effectively and not cause misunderstandings.]]>

<![CDATA[Students encounter difficulties in learning to understand fable texts. This is evident from their lack of attention during instructional sessions, as most students tend to engage in distractions within the classroom, display difficulty in being managed, and struggle to comprehend the texts when given assignments. The aim of this research is to determine (1) the ability of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan in identifying fable texts using the talking stick method; (2) the ability of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan in identifying fable texts using the talking stick method aided by crossword puzzle media; (3) the influence of the talking stick method aided by crossword puzzle media on the ability to identify fable texts in seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan.. This research employs an experimental method with a two-group only post-test control design. The findings of the study reveal that 1) The ability of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan in identifying fable texts using the talking stick method falls within the good category, with an average score of 78. 2) The ability of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan in identifying fable texts using the talking stick method aided by crossword puzzle media has improved and falls within the excellent category, with an average score of 88.16. Based on the t-test, with a significant level value of α = 0.05 and n = 30, the t-table value obtained is 2.04. Therefore, it can be concluded that the t-value > t-table, which is 3.35 > 2.04. This proves that there is a significant influence of using the talking stick method aided by crossword puzzle media on the ability to identify fable texts in eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan.]]>

<![CDATA[Factors causing low reading knowledge among students at SD Yayasan Duta Harapan Bukit Sion Medan include the social, economic and educational conditions of the school environment. Factors such as limited access to various reading materials, lack of family support for reading habits, and uninteresting learning methods may be the main causes. In addition, students' intrinsic factors such as lack of interest in reading and undeveloped reading skills also need to be considered. This research is important in identifying the problems and developing appropriate strategies to improve reading skills in the school. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause low reading knowledge at SD Yayasan Duta Harapan Bukit Sion. This method uses a qualitative approach, where data is collected through interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that some of the factors causing students' low reading skills are laziness, physical or psychological disorders, lack of interest and the use of technology. Teachers play an important role in preparing interesting lesson plans, providing special support and using technology. Literacy in schools helps improve students' interest and reading skills through habituation, development and gradual learning. The implications of the findings highlight the need for collaborative efforts between schools and parents to improve reading skills in schools.]]>

<![CDATA[In the progress of the times, the use of the Indonesian language has gradually changed, there are several words in the Indonesian language whose reading has been changed, which has had a significant impact on the position of the Indonesian language as a national language and the nation's cultural identity. In this millennial era, many generations have grown up in an environment filled with technology which has made big changes in terms of communicating formally and informally. The influence of globalization and the popularity of English has also caused a shift communication preferences, where Indonesian may be less attractive to the Millennial Generation. Through literature review, data search was carried out to identify the language styles of the millennial generation and analyze it to find out the impact of using this language style. Search results shows the impact of the millennial generation's language style on the integrity of the Indonesian language in this era of globalization.]]>

<![CDATA[This research analyzes the novel "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck" by Hamka using a literary psychology approach, specifically using the personality structure according to Sigmund Freud, namely Id, Ego and Superego. The research method used is an explanatory qualitative approach using data from the novel. Data collection techniques were carried out through skimming and notation to quote quotes that were relevant to the characters and conflicts in the novel. Content and discourse analysis is used to identify the main themes, conflicts and character development in the novel. The results of the analysis show the psychological conflict experienced by the main character, Zainuddin, in his interactions with his environment, as well as a deep inner conflict due to love that does not reach Hayati. This research provides a comprehensive understanding of the characters and dynamics in the novel. Thus, this research can contribute to further understanding of literary and psychological works, as well as their relevance in understanding the human condition in everyday life.]]>

<![CDATA[This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects in this research were in class VIII-6 with a total of 20 students. The aim of this research is to improve the learning quality of students in class VIII-6 of National Hero Middle School in writing poetry using the Nature Learning method. The Nature Learning method is a learning method that uses the natural environment as a medium. Based on research, the application of the Nature Learning method is very effective because students' poetry writing results have increased from cycle I to cycle II.]]>
