Abstract

Contextual learning is an approach that links subject matter to real world situations experienced by students. This approach aims to improve students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This article discusses the implementation of contextual learning strategies in elementary schools and their impact on students' conceptual understanding. Through this method, students are invited to connect the knowledge gained with everyday life thereby increasing their learning motivation and understanding.

Abstract

Language disorders mean obstacles, obstacles, and something that causes a person's inability to pronounce articulation sounds, or words to express, say, and convey thoughts, ideas, and feelings. This study aims to describe language disorders in mild autistic children aged 13 years. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study are the results of a 13-year-old conversation with a subject with mild autistic disorder with the initials "Y" and currently occupying a 5th grade school at the Special School in Lebak Bulus. The data in the study were collected using the engaged listening technique, recording technique, and note taking technique. Based on the results of the study, the subject has many language disorders which cause difficulty communicating, so that other people do not understand the language used, and the subject alternates phonemes so that the meaning of the words spoken are different from what should be said so that other people cannot understand.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the directive speech acts contained in the movie “Generasi Micin vs Kevin” directed by Fajar Nugros. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data collection techniques used in this research are listening technique, recording technique, and note-taking technique. The data in this study are sentences in the dialog spoken by the characters in the film “Generasi Micin vs Kevin” which contains directive speech acts. The data source in this research is the movie “Generasi Micin vs Kevin”. Based on the results of research and discussion of directive speech acts in the movie “Generasi Micin vs Kevin”, 8 types of directive speech acts were found, namely: requesting, allowing, commanding, prohibiting, asking, pleading, advising, and recommending. Of the 8 types of directive speech acts, the most data is asking and the least data is pleading. The movie “Generasi Micin vs Kevin” belongs to the teen comedy drama genre. This is reason why the most asking data is found in this study.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the symbols in the novel Charlotte's Web. The author choses this topic because wanted to understand the symbols contained in the novel and study them.the writing uses the semiotic method by Roland Barthes, and the kualitatif analysis datathis study shows symbols in the novel are depicted in words, actions and characters. A very important symbol in the novel is the spider's web. The main character is closely related to this symbol.the writer hopes this study can help students to understand symbols at charlotte's web

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the types of language errors and the factors that cause them in the use of the verbs jùyǒu and yōngyǒu in Mandarin essays in the seventh semester of STBA-PIA T.A. 2020/2021. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research design to achieve the research objectives. The subjects of this research were 40 students. The data collection techniques used are documentation techniques to determine the types of language errors and interview techniques to determine the factors that cause these language errors. This research obtained results showing that there were four types of errors made by students of the fourth year Chinese literature study program STBA-PIA Medan semester VII, namely subtraction errors of 1 sentence (1.2%), addition errors of 7 sentences (8 .2%), replacement errors were 74 sentences (87.1%) and sequencing errors were 3 sentences (3.5%), where replacement errors were the highest type of error among the four types of errors. Apart from that, the factors causing errors in using the verbs jùyǒu and yōngyǒu can be divided into two, namely interlingual factors as many as 3 people (30%) and intralingual factors as many as 7 people (70%).

Abstract

This development research aims to find out: (1) the process of developing flashcard media to improve students' poetry writing skills. (2) the feasibility of flashcard media in improving students' poetry writing skills. (3) The effectiveness of flashcard media in improving students' poetry writing skills.This research was conducted using the research and development model (R&D) (Research and Development) This research uses the ADDIE development model with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study are MTs Islamiyah Medan students totaling 28 students. The instrument of this study is to use a questionnaire to see the development, feasibility and effectiveness of the media developed. Data analysis techniques use product data analysis, preliminary data analysis, hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that flashcard media for writing poetry is very feasible to use with an average percentage of media experts 81.25% and material experts 97.5%. There was an increase in the average student score of 80.17%, so it was concluded that the average pretest and pottest scores experienced significant changes. Research conclusion: flashcard media for writing student poetry is suitable for use in poetry material learning activities by grade VIII students of MTS Islamiyah Medan. Further research suggestion: more thorough in planning the development of flashcard media, it should be developed according to the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of PowToon media in learning to conclude the discussion text of Junior High School Class IX. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method to describe the use of PowToon media in the classroom based on observations and interviews conducted. The results obtained from this study are that PowToon media is effectively used for learning to conclude discussion texts because the media can attract students' interest so that students are not bored during learning. In addition, PowToon media can make it easier for teachers to convey various materials that cannot be conveyed only by the lecture method. Based on this, it can be said that PowToon's learning media can be used as a learning medium to conclude discussion texts as a support for the learning process.

Abstract

Along with the times, the use of interactive learning media technology is needed to increase learning motivation. Students will be more interested in the new learning process. This is shown through the active involvement of students in the learning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of Canva media in learning Indonesian personal and official letter texts to Students of SMPN 34 Semarang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. Qualitative descriptive method is a method whose research data is in the form of descriptive notes. The data collection technique in this study is through a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by means of data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of Canva media in learning Indonesian personal and official letter texts to SMPN 34 Semarang students could be concluded that students' learning motivation increased after using Canva learning media. There were 26 students with a percentage of 85% who said Canva's learning media was very useful and 4 students with a percentage of 15% said it was useful. So it can be concluded that the use of Canva media is very useful in increasing learning motivation in achieving the learning objectives of Indonesian personal and official letter texts. This is shown through students being actively involved and cooperative in the learning process. In addition, students are able to produce written products in the form of personal and official letters through Canva media.

Abstract

All knowledge, feelings and thoughts of Malay people are internalized through pantun. This classical art of speech contains Malay life experience, wisdom, thoughts, language, arts and culture. Pantun is a forum for expressing thoughts and feelings about the meaning of life, education, human behavior and its relationship with the natural environment. As an effort to maintain the existence of pantun, schools have the responsibility to introduce pantun to the younger generation. The inheritance of culture from one generation to the next can be carried out in interesting and memorable learning. In this digital era, teachers must be able to adapt and synergize with technological advances. So learning rhymes must be varied and technologically literate. Teachers can maximize the use of digital applications to introduce and familiarize themselves with pantun. In this way, learning can keep up with the times and the interests of the younger generation who are very responsive to the rapid development of technology.

Abstract

This research analyzes the types of illocutionary acts. Therefore, the problem of this research is "What types of illocutionary acts are found in the Nightbooks movie?. The aim of this research is to describe the types of illocutionary acts found in the Nightbooks movie. Data is analyzed through several steps including identification, analysis, classification, description and drawing conclusions. The author uses descriptive qualitative research to collect data, through several steps including watching movie, listening to speech in movie, identifying and classifying data. After investigating the types in the movie, the author found several findings. The illocutionary acts in the movie can be analyzed into several types, namely 5 commissive acts, 4 representative acts, 6 directive acts, 4 expressive acts and declarative acts. In summary, the illocutionary acts used in the movie aim to analyze the types of illocutionary acts used in the Nightbooks movie.
