Abstract

The number of  chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing hemodialysis continues to increase. Fatigue is one of the complaints that often arise in patients undergoing hemodialysis (60-97%). This has a serious impact on the quality of life and daily activities. This study aims to provide an overview of the level of fatigue in CKD patients undergoing regular hemodialysis at Tabanan Hospital. This study used a quantitative descriptive design, involving 151 respondents through purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used was  the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F) questionnaire, with data analysis using descriptive and univariate statistics. The results of the study from a total of 151 respondents were obtained  with moderate fatigue levels of  78 respondents (51.6%),  severe fatigue as many as 41 (27.2%), and mild  fatigue as many as 32 (21.2%). Moderate levels of fatigue are thought to be related to biological factors, especially anemia, where low hemoglobin levels lead to reduced oxygen supply to tissues and cause sustained fatigue. In addition, the patient's psychological adaptation to chronic diseases and hemodialysis routines undergone for a long period of time can form a coping mechanism so that the level of fatigue tends to be in the moderate category. Thus, moderate fatigue is a dominant problem in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis and requires special attention in nursing care

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic health condition that requires long-term treatment and consistent medication adherence. Psychological factors, particularly stress, play a significant role in influencing patients ability to adhere to antihypertensive therapy. High stress levels may disrupt concentration, reduce motivation, and contribute to forgetfulness, ultimately lowering adherence. This study aimed to determine the relationship between stress levels and medication adherence among hypertensive patients at UPTD Puskesmas Kediri III. This study employed an quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 100 hypertensive patients were selected as respondents. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) was used to assess stress levels, while the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) measured medication adherence. The results showed that most respondents experienced mild stress (45.0%), followed by moderate (44.0%), and severe stress (11.0%). Medication adherence was predominantly in the moderate category (59.0%). Statistical analysis using the Spearman Rank test indicated a significant relationship between stress levels and medication adherence (p < 0.05) meaning that stress levels are have correlation with patient consistency in following therapy increasing stress may reduce adherence. These findings highlight the importance of stress management and continuous health education to improve medication adherence among hypertensive patients, thereby supporting better blood pressure control and reducing potential complications

Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 450 million people globally suffer from anxiety-related health issues. Young adults account for 150 million of these individuals, and 57% of the total population experiences work-related anxiety during their studies. The prevalence of anxiety in Asia is 65 million young adults with anxiety issues during their undergraduate studies, with final-year students being the most affected. A preliminary study conducted through interviews with eight final-year nursing students at STIKes X revealed that five of them experienced anxiety while facing their thesis. This research aimed to determine the effect of mindfulness therapy on the anxiety levels of final-year nursing students writing their thesis at STIKes X. The study used a This research aimed to determine the effect of mindfulness therapy on the anxiety levels of final-year nursing students writing their thesis at STIKes X. The study used a Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire and analyzed using a paired sample t-test.The study, conducted from July 10, 2025, at STIKes X, found a p-value of 0.001 (< 0.05). This indicates that there was a significant effect of mindfulness therapy in reducing anxiety levels among final-year nursing students. The conclusion is that mindfulness therapy can be an effective method to decrease anxiety for students, particularly those working on their thesis, and future researchers are encouraged to explore other non-pharmacological therapies to address anxiety

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea can interfere with adolescent girls' physical and emotional activities, but few seek medical help, so non-pharmacological management such as warm compresses, exercise, relaxation, massage and knee chest position is highly dependent on adolescents' level of knowledge about their effectiveness and how to apply them. This study aims to find out the overview of adolescents' knowledge level regarding the management of dysmenorrhea in a non-pharmacological manner at SMP Negeri 1 Ubud. This study uses a quantitative design with Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling with a sample of 222 people. Data were collected through a questionnaire on adolescent knowledge level regarding the management of dysmenorrhea in a non-pharmacological manner which has been tested for validity with a result of 0.382 and a reliability test with a result of 0.819. The results of respondent identification found that the most respondents were in class VIII with a total of 81 respondents (36.5%), most of the respondents were 13 years old, namely 80 respondents (36.0%), the most respondents experienced menstruation for 6-7 days with 77 respondents (34.7%), the most dysmenorrhea management was carried out by rest, namely 100 respondents (45.0%),  and as many as 8 respondents (3.6%) used pharmacological methods. The level of adolescent knowledge about the management of dysmenorrhea non-pharmacologically was in the sufficient category, namely 119 people (53.6%), 83 people (37.4%), and 20 people (9.0%) with poor knowledge. Education to adolescent girls about reproductive health, especially about the management of dysmenorrhea in a non-pharmacological manner, needs to be done to increase adolescent knowledge

Abstract

Adolescents often have limited knowledge about HIV/AIDS, lacking understanding about transmission, prevention, and the long-term effects of HIV/AIDS. The main objective of this study was to investigate whether a redesigned snakes and ladders game with an innovative approach could significantly improve adolescents' understanding of HIV/AIDS. This study used a pre-experimental design with a single group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 74 ninth-grade students from Budi Utama Junior High School, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data on HIV/AIDS were collected using questionnaires administered before and after the intervention using the snakes and ladders game. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of ? = 0.05. Most respondents (66.2%) had a low level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS. After the intervention with the snake and ladder game, most respondents (86.5%) demonstrated a good level of knowledge, as indicated by the Wilcoxon test results, which produced a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), showing a significant positive effect after education using the snake and ladder game medium. Therefore, the use of the snakes and ladders game as an educational method can be an innovative and attractive alternative in health education efforts for adolescents in HIV/AIDS prevention

Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants, defined as infants born weighing less than 2,500 grams, are at higher risk of physiological instability and growth problems. One non-pharmacological nursing intervention applied in the care of LBW infants is Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). This study aimed to describe the implementation of KMC and its association with changes in body weight and physiological responses in LBW infants within the nursing care process. This study employed a descriptive case study design using a nursing care approach conducted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The subject of the study was one clinically stable LBW infant. Data collection was carried out through nursing assessment, observation, physical examination, and medical record review. Observed parameters included body weight, body temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate, and oxygen saturation before and after the implementation of KMC. The results showed an increase in body weight from 1,945 grams to 2,118 grams following the application of Kangaroo Mother Care. The infant’s physiological responses remained within normal ranges, as indicated by stable body temperature, regular respiratory rate, stable heart rate, and adequate oxygen saturation. The application of Kangaroo Mother Care in nursing care may support physiological stability and weight gain in low birth weight infants. This intervention can be considered a supportive nursing approach that emphasizes family involvement in the care of LBW infants.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has become a global problem that threatens public health and socio-economics. One of the management options for diabetes mellitus sufferers is to regulate a healthy diet through diet management, but currently many diabetes sufferers still find it difficult to change their lifestyle. This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of diabetes mellitus and dietary compliance in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. This type of research is quantitative correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size were 186 respondents with type II diabetes mellitus. The instruments used were the DKQ-24 (Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire) questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge and the PDAQ-9 (Perceived Dietary Adherence Questionnaire) to measure dietary compliance. The results showed that the majority of respondents were in the moderate knowledge category (102 people (54.8%), and dietary compliance was in the compliant category (171 people (91.9%). The results of the analysis using the Pearson correlation test showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and dietary compliance (p < 0.05), with a correlation coefficient of 0.000 meaning that the level of knowledge is related to patient consistency in following the diet, thus increasing dietary compliance. The higher the patient's level of knowledge about their disease, the more likely they are to comply with the recommended diet

Abstract

Nurses are essential healthcare providers who work in shift systems that may lead to work stress and affect job satisfaction. Poorly managed shift work can have negative impacts on nurses’ physical and psychological well-being as well as their performance. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between shift work and work stress with nurses’ job satisfaction at Islamic Hospital Banjarmasin. This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 60 inpatient nurses selected using stratifed random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between shift work and nurses’ job satisfaction (p = 0.000; r = 0.661), and a significant relationship between work stress and job satisfaction (p = 0.000; r = 0.760). Nurses working evening and night shifts, as well as those with higher levels of work-related stress, tend to have lower job satisfaction. The study concludes that shift work and work stress are strongly related to nurses’ job satisfaction. It is recommended that hospital management implement fair shift scheduling, effective work stress management, and organizational support to improve nurses’ job satisfaction and enhance the quality of nursing care
