Background: The foot is a very important part of the limb for walking, and functions as a lever so that the foot is the part that receives the deformity force, so the shape of the sole of the foot has a very important role in carrying out every physical activity. The description above provides an illustration that someone with a flat foot shape has a physical activity ability, namely agility, which is less good compared to someone who has a normal foot shape. Methods and Subjects: The method used in this study is quantitative experimental using a Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT) research design. This study uses a single blinding method where the research subjects do not know what type of insole they are using. The randomized technique in this study uses simple randomization, namely by drawing lots. The sample of this study was 38 respondents, where the control group and the intervention group received the same treatment by being given standard treatment in the form of custom insoles but for the control group they were given regular insoles without medial arch support (MAS). And the intervention group was given insoles with medial arch support (MAS) features. Therefore, in this study, a pre-treatment test was conducted as a basis for determining the level of sample homogeneity, as well as a post-treatment test which was used as data to compare the effectiveness of the intervention between the two groups tested. The measuring instrument used in this study was the Edgren Side Step Test (ESST). Results: The results of the Mann Whitney test showed that there was a difference in the average agility between the intervention group (16.52) and the control group (17.73) with a p value = 0.042 where the p value <0.05.Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a statistically significant difference in agility in the intervention group and the control group. Where the intervention group has better agility than the control group

Background: One of the student activities related to physical activity and sports is mountain climbing. Mountain climbing is a sport related to physical activity and nature. Physical activity carried out in the open air has more benefits for physical and psychological health because mountain climbing is a medium to find a calm and quiet atmosphere because the mountain is far from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, mountain climbing can cause various health problems if done without good preparation. One of the physical problems that arises is knee pain. Efforts to reduce the level of pain can be done by using an assistive device (orthosis), namely knee support or elastic knee decker. Elastic knee decker is an orthosis that covers the knee area where the function of the elastic knee decker itself is to provide compression, knee stability, minimize muscle work and can reduce the degree of pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knee decker on knee pain that occurs when climbing mountains. Methods and subjects: This study is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pre-test post-test design. Sampling using purposive sampling of 16 people. Results: The Mann-Whitney test results showed a sig. value of 0.001, meaning p<0.05, which indicates the effect of using elastic knee decker on knee pain in mountain climbers.

Background: The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a hematological test used to detect inflammatory processes and blood disorders. ESR values can be influenced by the type of anticoagulant used. Objective: To compare ESR values in venous blood samples using EDTA and 3.8% sodium citrate anticoagulants with the Westergren method modified by the addition of 0.86% NaCl. Methods: This study employed an observational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design, conducted at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Politeknik Indonusa Surakarta. A total of 32 venous blood samples were examined using both anticoagulants. Data were analyzed statistically using the Mann–Whitney test. Results: The mean ESR value in samples with EDTA anticoagulant was 18.3 mm/h, while that in samples with 3.8% sodium citrate was 13.1 mm/h. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.014 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. This difference may be attributed to the chemical properties and osmolarity of each anticoagulant, which affect erythrocyte rouleaux formation. Conclusions: The type of anticoagulant significantly affects ESR results. 3.8% sodium citrate remains the preferred anticoagulant for the Westergren method according to standard protocols, without the addition of 0.86% NaCl dilution

The skin is exposed to free radicals from the environment every day which can cause premature aging. The aging process is characterized by decreased sweat gland production, followed by decreased skin moisture due to reduced skin elasticity and the skin's ability to retain water, so the skin needs moisturizer. Snail slime (Achatina fulica) contains active substances glycosaminoglycan and allantoin with a concentration of 3% functioning as a tightener, softener and moisturizer for facial skin and contains achasin protein which has antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes with an inhibitory power of 16.0 mm ± 2.6 at a concentration of 11%. This study aims to determine the effect of achasin protein on Propionibacterium acnes on skin elasticity.to know the variation of stearic acid concentration and stability of facial moisturizing cream from snail slime. This study used an experimental method with 3% snail slime as the active ingredient and stability testing was carried out using 2 methods, namely cycling test and centrifugation. Snail slime was formulated into a cream preparation with varying stearic acid concentrations of 5%, 7%, 9% and 11%. Based on the results of the stability test using the cycling test method, it was found that all cream formulas were physically stable because they did not experience phase separation, while based on the results of the stability test using the centrifugation method, it was found that the cream in formula 4 was more physically stable when compared to formulas 1, 2 and 3 because it experienced phase separation at the 150th minute. Conclusion: The resulting facial moisturizer cream was stable in the cycling test method but not stable in the centrifugation method.

Background: Secondhand smoke exposure contains various toxic compounds that may affect liver function even in young, apparently healthy individuals. Evidence regarding the impact of exposure intensity on liver enzyme activity remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association between secondhand smoke exposure intensity and serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT/SGPT) levels among university students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 99 university students selected using purposive sampling. Exposure intensity was quantified using a structured questionnaire based on frequency and duration of exposure. Serum ALT levels were measured using an enzymatic method with an automated chemistry analyzer. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test. Results: A significant positive correlation was observed between secondhand smoke exposure intensity and serum ALT levels (r = 0.293, p = 0.003). Although most ALT values remained within normal reference ranges, higher exposure intensity was associated with a gradual increase in ALT levels. Conclusion: Increased intensity of secondhand smoke exposure is associated with subclinical elevation of serum ALT levels in healthy young adults. These findings highlight the importance of minimizing passive smoke exposure even in non-smoking populations.
