Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of social support and self-adjustment on stress in psychology students at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The type of research used in this study is correlational with a quantitative method approach. The regression model of the effect of social support and self-adjustment on academic stress produced a coefficient of 0.012 determination (adjusted R square), indicating that social support contributed 1.2% in explaining variations in psychology student stress. With a t value of 2.61 and sign 0.012 indicates that the relationship between social support and psychology student stress is statistically significant. While self-adjustment produces a coefficient of 0.001 determination (adjusted R square), which shows that self-adjustment contributes very little (only 0.1%) in explaining variations in psychology student stress. Researchers concluded from the results of hypothesis testing that there is a relationship between each independent variable (social support and self-adjustment) and the dependent variable (academic stress). Social Support has a significant influence on academic stress. While self-adjustment provides an insignificant influence on academic stress

Abstract

This research is based on the family as the smallest social unit and is the first and main educational institution for children before children receive formal education at school. However, the desire to have a complete family, sometimes does not always come true due to various factors, for example a breakdown in the household (broken home). Every day children will see the attitudes and behavior shown by their parents so that this will indirectly be absorbed and become a habit for their children. Talking about parenting patterns is very important in a family. With parental parenting patterns, social interactions can occur which are useful for introducing children to the rules, norms and values that apply in society. Therefore, single parents are required to work extra in carrying out activities and have a function at the same time in the family, namely acting as father, backbone of the family and as housewife. The subject used in the research was 1 student. The data collection method used was observation, interviews and documentation. By collecting qualitative data using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the parenting style applied by a mother is democratic.

Abstract

Fish is a high-quality protein animal food source. Unfortunately, fish is perishable that it requires certain preservation and processing methods to prevent spoilage in both fresh fish and processed fishery products. Coastal food resources, particularly seafood, can become culinary specialties that become the icon of their place of origin. This research presents an overview of smoked fish as a typical culinary specialty in the coastal area of North Buton Regency. In this descriptive research, survey was performed to gain data to be narratively presented. The results of this research show that local smoked fish products called "katapai," are a unique culinary delight of North Buton. Katapai is smoked tuna and skipjack sold immediately after the smoking process. People usually enjoy the food with tomato sauce and processed rice called buras. Innovation in smoking techniques, presentation, and packaging are necessary for the development of katapai production in order to extend its shelf life.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Bulo Village, Bungin Sub-district, Enrekang Regency, in January 2024, to evaluate the prevalence of hypertension, hyperuricemia, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and hypercholesterolemia among women of reproductive age. A total of 50 women aged 15-49 years participated in this study. The age distribution of the respondents showed that the majority were in the 40-44 age range (26%), followed by the 35-39 age range (20%) and the 45-49 age range (20%). The results showed that 10 women (20%) had hypertension (blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mmHg), 18 women (36%) had hyperuricemia (serum uric acid levels ≥ 6 mg/dL), and 20 women (40%) had hypercholesterolemia (total cholesterol levels ≥ 200 mg/dL). No cases of hyperglycemia (blood glucose levels ≥ 200 mg/dL) or hypoglycemia (blood glucose levels < 70 mg/dL) were found in the sample studied. Hypercholesterolemia was the most common condition, followed by hyperuricemia and hypertension. These findings indicate the need for more intensive health interventions in the community. Education on healthy eating habits, physical activity, and regular health check-ups are essential to manage and prevent further complications from these conditions. This study provides valuable insights into the health status of women of reproductive age in Bulo Village and underscores the importance of appropriate preventive measures.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a complex biological process, involving significant physiological and psychological changes in a woman's body. In addition to biological aspects, pregnancy is also influenced by socio-cultural factors that shape the experiences of pregnant women. In South Sulawesi, traditional cultural beliefs and practices are still very much present, including rituals, dietary restrictions, and the use of traditional birth attendants. This literature review examines how cultural practices in Sulawesi influence pregnancy care. The research used the PRISMA method to identify relevant literature from various academic databases. Results show that certain dietary restrictions and rituals can have both good and bad effects on maternal and foetal health. Cultural beliefs, such as the use of mantras and the important role of traditional birth attendants, provide spiritual and psychological support, but can also hinder adequate nutrition. These findings emphasise the need for integration between modern health practices and traditional beliefs to improve maternal health. This study will help health providers design more effective and culturally sensitive programmes to improve maternal and infant health in Sulawesi.

Abstract

Crackers are food liked by children and adults that can be produced in various shapes. Crackers are primarily made from starch and additional ingredients that can enhance the flavor and nutritional value. This research was performed to analyze panelists' preference for stick crackers added with spinach (Amaranthus spp) and sea urchin gonads (Diadema setosum). In this experimental research, the preferences of 15 panelists were assessed through an organoleptic test, specifically a hedonic test based on several parameters; color, aroma, taste, and crispiness of the stick crackers. Data from the preference test were collected and categorized based on a hedonic scale: 1 = dislike very much, 2 = dislike, 3 = neither like nor dislike, 4 = like, and 5 = like extremely. The results indicated that the average preference scores were 4.2 for color (like), 4.1 for aroma (like), 4.3 for taste (like), and 4.6 for crispiness (like extremely). Overall, panelists expressed a favorable opinion regarding the color, aroma, taste, and crispiness of the stick crackers. These findings suggest a positive reception of the enhanced product. It is advisable to conduct further nutritional analysis of the stick crackers incorporating spinach and sea urchin gonads to assess their nutritional benefits.

Abstract

Examining how the Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) paradigm impacts elementary school children' civic skill development is the primary goal of this research. Fifty fourth graders from two different State Elementary School classes participated in this study. One group, IV B, used the GQGA technique for instruction, while the other group, IV A, stuck with the tried-and-true method. A posttest comprehension tool was utilized for data collecting. Using a posttest-only control group design, this study employs a quantitative research strategy reminiscent of quasi-experimental research. The t-test, which had before checked for normality and homogeneity, is utilized as the data analysis approach. According to the findings of the SPSS 20 Independent Sample t-test, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted; this indicates that the GQGA learning model has an effect on elementary school students' civic skills.
