Abstract

This study explores the use of TikTok to enhance English speaking skills among high school students. TikTok's interactive platform offers opportunities for practicing pronunciation, acquiring vocabulary, and building confidence in speaking English. A literature review method was employed to analyze existing research, highlighting TikTok's effectiveness in language learning despite challenges such as content quality and screen time management. Best practices include curated content selection and promoting digital citizenship. Case studies demonstrate positive outcomes in student engagement and language proficiency. The findings underscore TikTok's potential as a supplementary tool in modern language education, aligning with communicative language teaching principles. Further research should investigate long-term impacts and comparative effectiveness to refine educational strategies.

The triangulation used to test the validity of the data is technique and source triangulation. The results of the research show that (1) Scout extracurricular management planning in increasing student discipline at Madrasah Ibtida'iyah TWT Bedengsatu is quite good because in the planning there are several areas of disciplinary activities, including holding Proker (work programs) for routine training every week, which followed by scout participants. (2) Implementation of scout extracurricular management in increasing student discipline at Madrasah Ibtida'iyah TWT Bedengsatu, namely that this implementation is a follow-up to the results of planning that has been implemented by Madrasah Ibtida'iyah TWT Bedengsatu. The standby members carry out the training that has been scheduled once a week properly and in an orderly manner, by carrying out the standby material taught by the scout leaders and trainers. (3) Evaluation of scout extracurricular management in increasing student discipline at Madrasah Ibtida'iyah TWT Bedengsatu. This evaluation activity is usually carried out in an activity usually called Fiska Mahmuka with an activity schedule once a year with the focus of the evaluation being the assessment of scout extracurricular activities in one year.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of semantic integration on the reading proficiency of 6th-semester students at Muhammadiyah Tangerang University, focusing on the novel "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Employing a quantitative research design with pre-test and post-test assessments, the study engaged 10 students majoring in English Literature. Results indicated a significant improvement in reading proficiency, with an average increase of 15 points in test scores. Questionnaire feedback highlighted the effectiveness of semantic techniques in enhancing vocabulary understanding, text comprehension, and critical thinking. Despite limitations such as the small sample size and focus on a single text, the findings underscore the potential of semantic integration strategies to boost academic reading skills. Future research should aim to expand the sample and explore a wider range of literary works to validate and extend these findings

Abstract

Finding the problem-based learning (PBL) learning strategy with the use of a visual media tool is the primary goal of the written research. Canva has an impact on primary school kids' science learning outcomes. because science and related subjects continue to have low learning outcomes for elementary school students. According to research that has been published in a number of journals, social studies pupils in elementary schools have not yet attained 75 KKM (Minimum Competency Criteria). To solve this issue, the visual media tool Canva was utilized in conjunction with the learning methodology known as Problem-Based Learning (PBL). With this approach, students are motivated to solve issues, collaborate with others, work actively, and apply what they have learned. They also have the chance to learn, apply what they have learned, and overcome obstacles in groups. The written research uses the visual media application Canva to make sure that the learning model, Problem Based Learning (PBL), has an impact on elementary school students' scientific learning results. Examining the study, it was found that posttest research design was combined with quantitative research methods. The study population comprised all fourth-grade pupils of SDN Sedati Gede II. Twenty-five pupils from class IV-A were selected to serve as the experimental group, and the remaining twenty-five students from class IV-C served as the control group. A multiple-choice test consisting of twenty questions and a teacher activity observation sheet were used as the data gathering tools. The T-test, the homogeneity test, and the normalcy test were the three techniques employed for data analysis. The study's findings, which were analyzed using SPSS 25, indicated that the T-test results with H0 rejected, indicating that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model supported by the visual media of the Canva application had an impact on the science and natural science learning outcomes of elementary school students.

Abstract

Thinking at a higher level requires decision making based on a thorough examination of the origins of the problem through the application of logic and reasoning. Higher-order thinking in students can be influenced by the application of the problem-based learning model. This study aims to examine how the problem-based learning model affects students' capacity for higher-order thinking in elementary school science subjects. It is a quantitative study using a True Experimental Design, specifically a Posttest-Only Control Design, involving 46 fourth-grade students 23 from Class IV A as the experimental group and 23 from Class IV B as the control group. The treatment involved using a problem-based learning model, and the data collection instrument was a higher-order thinking test with questions about the anatomical structure of plants. The Independent Samples Test t-test was used for data analysis. The study shows that elementary school students' ability to think critically increases when they use the problem-based learning approach in science learning. The results indicate that the problem-based learning model can improve students' understanding of the learning content and their capacity for higher-order thinking.

Abstract

This journal explores the vocabulary development of a two-year-old child named Salma, using Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory as the analytical framework. This research adopts a qualitative case study design to explore vocabulary development. By observing Salma's interactions within her natural environment and through parental interviews, this research identifies significant milestones in her language acquisition. Key findings include Salma's mastery of object permanence, engagement in symbolic play, and the formation of two-word phrases, all of which align with Piaget's sensorimotor stage. The role of responsive parenting and the quality of maternal speech are highlighted as crucial factors in Salma's rapid vocabulary growth. This case study underscores the importance of providing language-rich environments and encourages the integration of Piaget’s theoretical insights into early childhood education practices to foster cognitive and linguistic development.
