Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia has led to various financial product innovations, including hajj savings. Panin Dubai Syariah Bank KC HR. Muhammad Surabaya offers the Zam-Zam Hajj Savings as a solution for the community in preparing for the pilgrimage. This study aims to evaluate the product quality of Zam-Zam Hajj Savings, customer interest level, and the extent to which product quality influences saving interest. The research employed a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents, then analyzed using validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression. The results indicate that most respondents (63%–80%) rated the product quality as very good, while saving interest was also high (53%–70%). Regression analysis revealed a positive and significant influence of product quality on customer interest, with a contribution of 70.6%, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other external factors. Thus, the Zam-Zam Hajj Savings product proves to be effective in attracting public interest to save at Panin Dubai Syariah Bank.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic economy and finance has encouraged the widespread use of muamalah contract terminology in various Islamic financial products and contemporary Islamic accounting standards. Terms such as murābaḥah, muḍārabah, musyārakah, ijārah, and rahn, which originate from the corpus of classical Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), are now employed as technical terminology in modern financial practices. This shift in the context of their usage has the potential to generate semantic transformation, thereby necessitating semantic analysis to examine the conceptual continuity between classical fiqh literature and contemporary Islamic accounting. This study aims to analyze the meanings of muamalah contract terminology in Fath al-Qarib al-Mujib and to examine its relevance to the terminology employed in contemporary Islamic accounting. The study adopts a qualitative approach using semantic analysis as its primary method. The research data consist of muamalah contract terminology found in Fath al-Qarib al-Mujib, which is analyzed through the identification of lexical meaning, terminological meaning, semantic relations, and semantic development within the context of the modern Islamic economy. The findings reveal that the muamalah contract terminology in Fath al-Qarib al-Mujib demonstrates strong conceptual continuity with the terminology used in Islamic accounting. Nevertheless, several terms have undergone functional expansion and semantic specialization as a consequence of the development of modern financial systems. These findings indicate that a comprehensive understanding of terminology in classical Islamic scholarly texts (turāth) is essential for maintaining conceptual consistency between classical fiqh al-muamalah and contemporary Islamic accounting practices. This study contributes to the advancement of Arabic semantic studies while strengthening the integration of Arabic language studies, fiqh al-muamalah, and Islamic accounting.

Abstract

The low level of digital literacy among customers remains a major challenge, particularly for new customers who have limited understanding of using Islamic Financial Technology (Fintech) applications to support their financial transactions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Sharia-based Fintech at BMT Al-Ishlah Cooperative in Jambi, identify the challenges faced in optimizing Sharia-based Fintech services in the digital era, and examine the strategies implemented to overcome these challenges. This study employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head, treasurer, IT staff, and customers of BMT Al-Ishlah Jambi. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Sharia-based Fintech implementation emphasizes Sharia principles, digital financial services, member literacy and participation, as well as system security and transparency. The main challenges include limited technological infrastructure, human resource competencies, dynamic regulations, customer literacy, and Sharia compliance. To address these challenges, BMT improves digital infrastructure, develops human resources, provides Islamic financial literacy education, strengthens Sharia supervisory functions, and collaborates with application developers and external IT teams. These strategies contribute to optimizing Sharia-based Fintech services effectively in the digital era.
