Abstract

This study aims to describe the construction of religious institutions in West Sumatra, especially Muhammadiyah and the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Council (LDII) West Sumatra regarding the meaning of jihad, as well as to explain the attitude of these religious institutions towards acts of terror in the name of jihad. Qualitative methods were used in this study with data obtained through interviews, documentation, and literature studies, both from books, scientific articles, books, and news. Social construction theory of Peter L Berger to explain the construction of Muhammadiyah and LDII West Sumatra religious institutions about the meaning of jihad. The results showed that Muhammadiyah West Sumatra interpreted jihad in the form of Jihad Amaliyah. The concept of jihad was revealed in various forms of movement, namely Muhammadiyah as an Islamic Movement, Muhammadiyah as the Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar Islamic Da'wah Movement, Muhammadiyah as the Tajdid Movement. The understanding of jihad is then internalized into various forms of programs ranging from da'wah, education, health, social services and humanity. The LDII defines jihad in the sense of struggle. This understanding of jihad can be seen in the internalization of the five West Sumatra LDII cluster programs. Both institutions both reject the meaning of jihad in the sense of war in the Indonesian context. The jihad that is carried out is moderate.

Abstract

Hamzah Fansuri was a Sufi figure, writer and Mufti in the Sultanate of Aceh Darussalam during the time of Sultan Alaudin Riayat Syah (1596-1604). The controversy about his thoughts is one of the reasons for the interest in this article. The interesting thing about his thoughts is about wahdatul wujud. At first glance, this thought is normal, but the interesting thing is the understanding that was developed in the process of Islamization in the archipelago when the two schools of Sufism, Sunni and Shia, met. Therefore, this article will discover this side of the controversy and of course its influence on the development of Sufism in Indonesia. Data obtained from library research. The data analysis technique was carried out using qualitative analysis techniques in a deductive manner. The results of this study show that the controversy over Hamzah Fansuri's thoughts about Wahdatul wujud is a Sufi concept that was influenced by the thoughts of previous Sufi figures such as Ibn Arabi and Al-Qunawi. Its influence on the development of Sufism in Indonesia lies in the understanding of Wahdatul Wujud, understood as a single form which is the ultimate reality. Being other than Allah are shadows or manifestations of a single being. Hamzah Fansuri understands that the essence of existence is only one, namely Allah SWT and everything is explained in metaphorical language.

Abstract

Land conversion often causes friction between the government and the community, which leads to conflict. West Pasaman is one of the districts in West Sumatra Province with the highest cases of agrarian conflict in West Sumatra. Data from the Padang City Legal Aid Institute shows that there are 25 cases of agrarian conflict in West Pasaman Regency, one of which occurred in Jorog Pigogah Patibubur. This research focuses on government crisis communication in dealing with conflict. Using the Two Ways Symmetrical Communication model, this research will analyze how the government-society narratives differ regarding the PSN Air Bangis proposal, the process of forming the narrative, and the communication strategy of the Governor of West Sumatra in managing the crisis. This research uses qualitative methods to analyze the management of narratives and conflicts between the Governor of West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah and the Air Bangis community regarding the change in the status of forest areas that were originally cultivated by the community, to become production forest areas managed by the state. To obtain data, this research used interview and document study methods. Research shows that the crisis cannot be handled optimally because the crisis communication strategies used by the government have not been successful in managing the conflict.

Abstract

Various promotional media are intensified to support the company profile (company image) in order to build reputation and trust in the target market/consumers. The company profile plays an important role in showing identity, by displaying the vision and mission and the products/services offered (Kris Nathan, 2016). The planned strategy must also be considered as well as possible so that it is effective and efficient. According to Henning (2004), E-WoM is a positive or negative review made based on potential, actual and trial results from consumers about a product/service via the internet. In this digital era, E-WoM is one of many marketing communication strategy options and greatly influences consumers' purchasing decisions. In its application some special ethics are required. Furthermore, this journal aims to examine the level of success of the e-WoM strategy and its impact on the company's image using observation methods with qualitative standards resulting from tagging social media platforms and e-commerce. It is hoped that professional communication practitioners within the company and the other will use this strategy as much as possible.

Abstract

The high number of Tuberculosis (TB) cases in Indonesia causes social paralysis in the community. Therefore, the TOSS-TB program is designed to alleviate and break the chain of spread of Tuberculosis (TB) throughout Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the TOSS-TB program, especially at the Sungai Durian Community Health Center. The Working Area of the Sungai Durian Community Health Center, which is a tropical area, is the main factor that has quite potential in the development of several disease germs, so researchers are interested in making the Sungai Durian Community Health Center a research subject in the implementation of the TOSS-TB program. Implementation analysis based on Edward III's implementation theory assesses the success of the program through four aspects, namely resources, communication, bureaucracy, and disposition. The method in this study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of purposive sampling. The results showed that the implementation of the TOSS-TB program at the Sungai Durian Community Health Center in the aspects of communication, disposition, and bureaucracy had met the criteria. However, the resource aspect is still constrained in terms of facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in abundant natural resources. There are various natural products, biological and non-biological, from various fields and livelihoods. However, the existing resources have not fully made Indonesian people prosperous. The data shows that unemployment and crime in Indonesia are very high. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the real concept of prosperity in Indonesia. This type of research is a literature study sourced from books, journals, and scientific articles. The results of the study show that the Islamic welfare state from Gus Dur's perspective is a state that creates prosperity for the Indonesian state both for Islam and as a whole. To overcome existing social problems, it is necessary to apply the values of the characteristics of a prosperous state as Gus Dur has conveyed, namely a law-based prosperous state, a democratic prosperous state, a prosperous country for civil society movements, and a socio-cultural prosperous state by applying these values and characteristics, the Indonesian state can become a Baldatun Thoyibatun Warobbun Ghofur state.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the Lalmai Hill range in Cumilla, Bangladesh, which was the capital center of ancient Samatata, to uncover new archaeological sites. Over the years a total of 50 archaeological sites have been identified on the hills' flat tops and slopes through multiple phases of exploration conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India's Eastern Circle, the Department of Archaeology and Museums of Pakistan, and the Department of Archaeology under the cultural ministry of the Bangladesh Government. The archaeological sites discovered provide a captivating glimpse into the 7th to 8th century AD. This era is characterized by significant cultural and societal transformations, making it a compelling and pivotal period to explore. While most of these sites were discovered in the northern and middle parts of the Hill range, this study specifically focused on the southern part. Through several field surveys, a new archaeological site was discovered in the south zone of the Hill range. The findings revealed ancient bricks, wall structures, and potshards, indicating the presence of past human activities at the site. These findings provide insights into the historical and cultural significance of the region. Further exploration and excavation of this site and other potential areas within the Lalmai Hill range are warranted to enrich our understanding of the past culture and unearth other hidden treasures
