Abstract

The word "companionship" feels very strange when globalization, with its various effects, has gradually eroded the human aspects of every individual. Some people no longer respect one another. Indonesia—as a highly plural and multicultural nation—on one hand, can become a great power when every social aspect is respected and given the opportunity to develop, thereby enriching the social atmosphere and national culture. On the other hand, plurality and multiculturalism can become a destructive force when the state favors one group based on ethnicity, culture, or religion over others, depriving each aspect of equal opportunities to grow. Therefore, we must learn from the traditions once practiced by our ancestors, so that conflicts—especially those with SARA (Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Intergroup) undertones—can be truly eliminated. Furthermore, these traditions can serve as a potential foundation for the nation's future development. Kata "persaudaraan" terasa sangat asing ketika globalisasi dengan berbagai dampaknya telah secara bertahap menghancurkan aspek kemanusiaan setiap individu. Beberapa orang tidak lagi saling menghargai. Indonesia—sebagai bangsa yang sangat plural dan multikultural—di satu sisi akan menjadi kekuatan besar ketika setiap aspek sosial dihargai dan diberi kesempatan untuk berkembang, sehingga setiap aspek dapat memperkaya suasana sosial dan budaya bangsa. Di sisi lain, pluralitas dan multikultural akan menjadi kekuatan destruktif ketika negara mendukung satu kelompok berdasarkan etnis, budaya, atau agama di atas kelompok lain, sehingga setiap aspek tidak memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk berkembang. Oleh karena itu, kita perlu belajar dari tradisi yang pernah hidup dan dikembangkan oleh nenek moyang kita, agar konflik—terutama yang bernuansa SARA (Suku, Agama, Ras, dan Antar golongan)—dapat benar-benar dihilangkan. Lebih jauh, tradisi tersebut dapat menjadi potensi untuk pembangunan bangsa di masa depan.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is currently spreading more widely in society. The government and society have responded to this issue by establishing the National Commission for AIDS Prevention (KPAN). Malang Regency issued Local Regulation Number 14 of 2008 on AIDS Prevention, forming KPAN facilitated by the local government budget and building international cooperation. Ironically, the number of infected individuals continues to rise. This research aims to describe the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention based on Local Regulation Number 14 of 2008. The results highlight supporting factors and obstacles in the implementation through institutional networks in Malang. By applying qualitative methods through interviews, observation, and documentation, this research reveals that the AIDS prevention process through networking is relatively effective. As a result, through this program, services have improved, qualified facilities are provided, KPA's network performance has enhanced, and society's understanding of HIV/AIDS issues has gradually grown, supported by social capital and stakeholder solidarity, although challenges remain. HIV/AIDS saat ini semakin meluas penyebarannya di masyarakat. Pemerintah dan masyarakat telah merespons isu ini dengan membentuk Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Nasional (KPAN). Kabupaten Malang menerbitkan Peraturan Daerah Nomor 14 Tahun 2008 tentang Penanggulangan AIDS, mendirikan KPAN yang difasilitasi oleh anggaran pemerintah daerah dan membangun kerja sama internasional. Namun ironisnya, jumlah orang yang terinfeksi terus meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi penanggulangan HIV/AIDS berdasarkan Perda Nomor 14 Tahun 2008. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor pendukung dan hambatan dalam implementasi melalui jejaring kelembagaan di Malang. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa proses penanggulangan AIDS melalui jejaring cukup efektif. Hasilnya, melalui program ini, layanan semakin baik, fasilitas yang memadai tersedia, kinerja jejaring KPA meningkat, serta pemahaman masyarakat tentang isu HIV/AIDS berkembang secara bertahap dengan dukungan modal sosial dan solidaritas stakeholder, meskipun masih ditemui hambatan.

Abstract

This study describes the intellectual and spiritual journey of transvestites organized by a boarding institution located in the village of Notoyudan, Yogyakarta. This boarding school was founded by Mother Mariyani with the aim of bridging and facilitating transvestites who wish to explore religious knowledge and worship quietly and reverently. From this objective reality, academic interests emerged, including: first, the use of the term "pesantren" (Islamic boarding school) labeled on transgender individuals as a practice of social legitimacy. Second, the religious activities of the students, which emphasize strengthening the mental-spiritual aspect. The research question to be answered is: what body image negotiation is displayed and popularized by the students at the Monday-Thursday Transvestite Islamic Boarding School in Notoyudan Village, Yogyakarta? To answer this question conceptually, two theories are used: first, body image based on Stuart Hall's representation theory, which emphasizes the political representation of the body. Second, the concept of social identity, which emphasizes society's recognition of actions taken by an individual or community. As a foundation for reading and analyzing field data, ethnomethodology is used to understand the basis of social consciousness through negotiation or social interaction by the transvestite students. The findings of this study reveal that the students wish to escape from the captivity of transsexual life, which involves both theological alienation (between the servant and God) and sociological alienation (between the individual and the surrounding community). To escape this alienation, transgender students pursue liberation by filling the knowledge gap about religion through frequent prayers and performing various religious rituals. Behind these efforts, the students also aim to build and create a new image of the transgender community—no longer seen as apostate servants of God but as individuals who also need and are devoted to religion. Studi ini menggambarkan perjalanan intelektual dan spiritual para waria yang terorganisir dalam sebuah lembaga pesantren yang terletak di kampung Notoyudan, Yogyakarta. Pesantren ini didirikan oleh Ibu Mariyani dengan tujuan menjembatani dan memfasilitasi para waria yang ingin mendalami ilmu agama serta beribadah dengan tenang dan khusyuk. Dari realitas objektif ini, muncul ketertarikan akademis, antara lain: pertama, penggunaan istilah pesantren yang dilabelkan pada kaum transgender sebagai praktik legitimasi sosial. Kedua, kegiatan keagamaan para santri yang lebih menekankan pada penguatan aspek mental-spiritual. Pertanyaan penelitian yang ingin dijawab adalah negosiasi citra tubuh apa yang ditampilkan dan dipopulerkan oleh para santri di Pesantren Waria Senin-Kamis di Kampung Notoyudan, Yogyakarta? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, digunakan dua teori: pertama, citra tubuh yang berlandaskan pada teori representasi Stuart Hall, yang menekankan representasi politik tubuh. Kedua, konsep identitas sosial yang menekankan pengakuan masyarakat terhadap tindakan yang dilakukan oleh seseorang atau komunitas. Sebagai dasar untuk membaca dan menganalisis data di lapangan, digunakan pendekatan etnometodologi untuk memahami landasan kesadaran sosial melalui negosiasi atau interaksi sosial yang dilakukan oleh para santri waria. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para santri ingin keluar dari kehidupan transgender yang teralienasi, baik secara teologis (alienasi antara hamba dan Tuhannya) maupun sosiologis (alienasi antara individu dan masyarakat sekitar). Untuk keluar dari alienasi ini, para santri transgender melakukan pembebasan melalui pengisian kesenjangan pengetahuan agama dengan banyak berzikir dan melakukan berbagai ritual keagamaan. Di balik upaya tersebut, para santri juga ingin membangun citra baru komunitas transgender, yaitu sebagai hamba yang tidak lagi dianggap murtad tetapi juga membutuhkan dan taat beragama.

Abstract

The preparation of religious court judges in carrying out their new competencies to handle sharia economic conflicts is a top priority following the amendment of Law No. 7 of 1989 to Law No. 3 of 2006 concerning religious courts. This research was conducted to determine the readiness of religious court judges in Jember to resolve sharia economic issues as mandated by Law No. 3 of 2006. The results indicate that the judges at the Jember Religious Court are always prepared to handle sharia economic conflicts. However, the methods of examining, adjudicating, and resolving sharia economic cases have not yet been tested or measured, as no such cases have been reported to the Jember Religious Court since the enactment of Law No. 3 of 2006. Kesiapan hakim pengadilan agama dalam menjalankan kompetensi barunya untuk menangani konflik ekonomi syariah menjadi prioritas utama setelah perubahan Undang-Undang No. 7 Tahun 1989 menjadi Undang-Undang No. 3 Tahun 2006 tentang peradilan agama. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kesiapan hakim pengadilan agama di Jember dalam menyelesaikan masalah ekonomi syariah sebagaimana diamanatkan dalam Undang-Undang No. 3 Tahun 2006. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hakim pengadilan agama di Jember selalu siap dalam menangani konflik ekonomi syariah. Namun, cara memeriksa, memutus, dan menyelesaikan masalah ekonomi syariah belum teruji dan terukur, karena sejak diundangkannya Undang-Undang No. 3 Tahun 2006, belum ada satu pun perkara yang dilaporkan di pengadilan agama Jember.

Abstract

The discussion about Sunni and Shia seems never-ending. These two major schools of thought in Islam have different concepts in many aspects. One of the main issues in their historical journeys is the problem of the existence of the Ahl al-Bait of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Both schools agree that the Ahl al-Bait of the Prophet holds a special position in the hearts of Muslims based on authentic hadiths. However, regarding who constitutes the Ahl al-Bait of the Prophet, the two schools differ in their opinions. This research aims to explore more comprehensive information about who the Ahl al-Bait of the Prophet is, based on hadiths from Sunni and Shia traditions. Diskusi tentang Sunni dan Syiah seolah tidak pernah berakhir. Kedua mazhab besar dalam Islam memiliki konsep yang berbeda dalam banyak hal. Salah satu isu utama dalam perjalanan sejarah keduanya adalah masalah eksistensi Ahl al-Bait Rasulullah saw. Kedua mazhab sepakat bahwa Ahl al-Bait Rasulullah saw memiliki posisi khusus di hati umat Islam berdasarkan hadis-hadis yang sahih. Namun, mengenai siapa yang dimaksud dengan Ahl al-Bait Rasulullah saw, kedua mazhab memiliki pendapat yang berbeda dalam menentukannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali informasi lebih komprehensif tentang siapa Ahl al-Bait Rasulullah saw berdasarkan hadis-hadis dari kalangan Sunni dan Syiah.

Abstract

Improving speaking ability is a crucial part of language learning. A slower learning process can affect learners' speaking skills. This research was conducted based on the low speaking ability of most tenth-grade students at MA Negeri 2 Jember. Most students were reluctant to speak English in class. They struggled to ask questions, answer questions, present materials, and even express their thoughts or ideas. This was analyzed through a speaking test conducted before students were treated using the Four Steps Interview, Role Play, and Chasing Game (FRC) methods. Only 12 students (31.57%) out of 38 achieved scores above the minimum mastery level (65), while the other 26 failed to meet the standard. The average speaking test score was 59.54, indicating unsatisfactory results. After identifying the students' lack of English speaking ability, the researcher developed an engaging, enjoyable, and challenging teaching strategy: the FRC method (Four Steps Interview, Role Play, and Chasing Game). The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in cycles with stages including Action Planning, Action Implementation, Observation, and Reflection. Data collection methods included (a) an English speaking test to determine whether students met the first success indicator, and (b) questionnaires to assess whether students met the second success indicator. Peningkatan kemampuan berbicara merupakan bagian yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Proses belajar yang lebih lambat akan mempengaruhi kemampuan berbicara pembelajar bahasa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mengacu pada rendahnya kemampuan berbicara yang dimiliki oleh sebagian besar siswa kelas X di MA Negeri 2 Jember. Sebagian besar siswa malas untuk berbicara dengan menggunakan Bahasa Inggris di kelas. Mereka kesulitan dalam mengajukan pertanyaan, menjawab pertanyaan, mempresentasikan materi, dan bahkan mengekspresikan pemikiran atau ide mereka. Hal ini bisa dianalisis melalui tes berbicara yang diselenggarakan sebelum siswa diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan metode Four Steps Interview, Role Play, dan Chasing Game (FRC). Jumlah siswa yang nilainya di atas nilai minimum ketuntasan materi (65) hanyalah 12 siswa (31,57%) dari 38 siswa. Sedangkan 26 siswa yang lain gagal mencapai SKM. Nilai rata-rata dari tes berbicara siswa adalah 59,54. Akan tetapi, hasil dari kemampuan berbicara siswa tetapiah kurang memuaskan. Setelah mengetahui bahwa kurangnya kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa, maka peneliti mengembangkan strategi pengajaran berbicara bahasa Inggris yang menarik, menyenangkan, dan menantang yaitu metode FRC (Four Steps Interview, Role Play, dan Chasing Game). Desain penelitiannya adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK); yang dilaksanakan melalui siklus-siklus dengan tahap-tahap, yaitu Perencanaan Aksi, Pelaksanaan Aksi, Observasi, dan Refleksi. Untuk tahap pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan (a) tes kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris, yang dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui apakah siswa bisa mencapai indikator implementasi kesuksesan yang pertama, (b) angket, yang dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui apakah siswa bisa mencapai indikator implementasi kesuksesan yang kedua.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research has three research focuses, including: (1) the school's background in managing the school website at SMAN 4 Jember, (2) the steps in using the school website as a public relations tool at SMAN 4 Jember, and (3) the management of the MIS (Management Information System) administrator in supporting the school's public relations function at SMAN 4 Jember. This study yields three main findings. The research employs a multi-case study analysis, where the researcher first analyzes individual cases and then conducts a cross-case analysis. The analysis technique uses an interactive model. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini memiliki tiga fokus penelitian, yaitu: (1) latar belakang sekolah dalam mengelola website di SMAN 4 Jember, (2) langkah-langkah pemanfaatan website sekolah sebagai sarana hubungan masyarakat di SMAN 4 Jember, dan (3) manajemen administrator SIM dalam mendukung fungsi hubungan masyarakat sekolah di SMAN 4 Jember. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan tiga temuan utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis studi multikasus, di mana peneliti menganalisis kasus individu terlebih dahulu, kemudian melakukan analisis lintas kasus. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif.

Abstract

Speaking skill is one of the language skills aimed to be achieved in Arabic language teaching. Speaking serves as the primary means to foster mutual understanding and reciprocal communication using language as the medium. Speaking activities should be engaging in language classes, but often the opposite occurs—these activities become uninteresting, fail to stimulate the situation, and the atmosphere becomes stagnant. This happens due to students' limited mastery of vocabulary and sentence patterns. However, the key to the success of such activities lies with the instructor. If the instructor can stimulate the learning environment, provide topics suitable for students' proficiency levels, and creatively develop learning models and methods, these obstacles can be overcome. One of the learning methods employed is the Teams Games Tournament (TGT), a cooperative learning model that is easy to implement by involving all students' activities without status differences. This method includes students' roles as tutors and incorporates game elements and reinforcement. The TGT learning model allows students to learn more relaxedly and fosters responsibility, cooperation, healthy competition, and learning engagement. The strategy used in teaching speaking skills includes the use of picture and word cards.

Abstract

Education is the only effort to build human beings as whole persons. The development of a country depends on the development of education for its society. Schools, as formal educational institutions, systematically plan various educational environments that provide numerous opportunities for students to engage in diverse learning activities. A good educational concept to implement is Ki Hadjar Dewantara's humanistic concept, which focuses on human freedom in expressing their potential and abilities, and Imam Al-Ghazali's religious humanistic education concept to attain the pleasure of Allah SWT. Pendidikan merupakan upaya untuk membangun manusia sebagai pribadi yang utuh. Perkembangan suatu negara bergantung pada perkembangan pendidikan bagi masyarakatnya. Sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal secara sistematis merencanakan berbagai lingkungan pendidikan yang menyediakan banyak kesempatan bagi peserta didik untuk melakukan berbagai kegiatan pembelajaran. Konsep pendidikan yang baik untuk diterapkan adalah konsep humanis Ki Hadjar Dewantara, yang berfokus pada kebebasan manusia dalam mengekspresikan potensi dan kemampuan mereka, serta konsep pendidikan humanis religius Imam Al-Ghazali untuk mendapatkan ridho dari Allah SWT.

Abstract

Different perspectives among the Islamic boarding schools studied revealed similarities in the ideological context they develop, including an Islamic understanding based on Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah. The differing responses occur not only within the boarding schools but also in society, which sometimes provides direct feedback and teaches students knowledge rooted in Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Some boarding schools are less reactive to issues of religious radicalism. Nurul Islam and As Sumiyah Islamic Boarding Schools share nearly identical views on the problem of religious radicalism in Jember, both completely intolerant of radicalism. Meanwhile, Riyadhus Sholihin and Al Fatah Islamic Boarding Schools attempt to implement dialogic models. Perbedaan pandangan di antara pesantren yang diteliti ternyata memiliki kesamaan dalam konteks ideologi yang dikembangkan, termasuk pemahaman Islam yang berlandaskan Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Perbedaan respons tidak hanya terjadi di dalam pesantren, tetapi juga di masyarakat yang terkadang memberikan tanggapan langsung dan mengajarkan santrinya pengetahuan berdasarkan Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Ada pula pesantren yang tidak terlalu reaktif terhadap isu radikalisme agama. Pesantren Nurul Islam dan As Sumiyah memiliki pandangan yang hampir sama dalam menyikapi masalah radikalisme agama di Jember. Keduanya sama sekali tidak mentolerir radikalisme. Sementara itu, Pesantren Riyadhus Sholihin dan Al Fatah mencoba menerapkan model dialog.
