Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) was motivated by the suboptimal organizational governance and tourism service management at Bahtera Beach. The main issues included limited managerial capacity among local tourism managers, the absence of clear service standards, and weak coordination among local tourism stakeholders. This program aimed to strengthen institutional capacity, improve the quality of visitor services, and promote more participatory and sustainable destination governance. The program applied a participatory approach consisting of problem identification, joint planning, training on tourism service management, development of basic service standards, and field mentoring. The beneficiaries were local tourism management groups and community members directly involved in tourism services at Bahtera Beach. The results indicate improved understanding among managers regarding structured organizational governance and service management. Clearer task distribution, the implementation of basic service standards for visitors, and increased awareness of cleanliness and visitor comfort were observed as tangible improvements. In addition, the emergence of local leaders who actively coordinate service activities and support program sustainability became an important outcome. Overall, this program contributed to strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing the quality of the tourism experience at Bahtera Beach.

Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional issue in Indonesia, particularly among children under five, affecting cognitive development, physical growth, and the productivity of the younger generation (Ministry of Health, 2023). This community service aims to enhance the role of public administration in promoting policies and programs to combat stunting through education, training, and direct assistance. Activities were conducted in coordination with government officials, health cadres, and local leaders, utilizing local media to raise awareness about nutrition. The results showed a significant increase in community knowledge about stunting and balanced nutrition, with active participation from both officials and residents in the reduction programs. This approach underscores the importance of public administration in fostering sustainable community health initiatives. In parallel, this program also focuses on enhancing community care for orphans through strategies like empathetic communication and social management. Using a participatory and qualitative approach, both the community and orphans were involved in every stage of the activity. The results indicated improved social interactions between the community and orphans, with the children showing positive emotional responses such as comfort and acceptance. The community demonstrated increased participation and responsibility. By integrating empathetic communication with social management, the program successfully enhanced the emotional well-being of orphans and strengthened community solidarity, suggesting a sustainable model for future social care initiatives.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) is designed to enhance students' knowledge and practical skills in public service, while also promoting local economic empowerment through the organization of a campus bazaar that highlights local wisdom. Held at the Lancang Kuning Dumai College of Administrative Sciences, the program involved collaboration between lecturers, students, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and the wider community. Using a participatory approach, students played an active role in planning, implementing, and evaluating the bazaar, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world context. The program provided valuable hands-on experience in public service delivery, business management, and marketing, focusing on products derived from local traditions and culture. For local MSMEs, the bazaar served as an opportunity to increase product sales and expand their marketing reach, strengthening their presence in the community. The program successfully demonstrated the power of collaboration between educational institutions and local businesses in fostering economic development. By aligning academic activities with community needs, this initiative contributes to creating a sustainable local economy, emphasizing the importance of local wisdom in modern business practices.

Abstract

Stunting is a persistent nutritional problem in Indonesia, especially among children under five, affecting the nation's human resource potential. The high prevalence of stunting leads to long-term issues in cognitive development, physical growth, and the overall productivity of the younger generation (Ministry of Health, 2023). This community service initiative seeks to enhance the role of public administration in promoting policies and programs aimed at reducing stunting. It involves education, training, and hands-on community support, coordinated with government officials, health cadres, and local leaders. The initiative utilizes local media to increase awareness about proper nutrition. The results show a noticeable improvement in community knowledge about stunting and balanced nutrition, with both officials and residents actively participating in stunting reduction efforts. This service emphasizes the importance of strengthening public administration through capacity-building, intersectoral coordination, and the use of information technology to meet program objectives. Recommendations are made for sustainable, participatory, and data-driven approaches to stunting reduction.

Abstract

Tegal Regency is a region in Central Java Province. Geographically, Tegal Regency is situated on a highly advantaged path. This regency, with its capital in Slawi, boasts a diverse range of economic centers spread across several regions. Dominated by small and medium-sized industries, the community can be empowered and participate in improving their well-being through job creation. Small and Medium Industry centers are highly diverse. One area we highlight in this article is the potential of metal and machinery SMEs, which are crucial commodities in the local economy. The metal industry is located around Talang District. The metal and machinery sector holds significant promise due to the potential for increased manufacturing demand, which can boost the local economy. In this study, we used field research and interviews to understand how the SME economy operates. By highlighting this, we hope that the government will focus on SMEs, particularly in the metal and machinery sector, by providing incentives for training and improving product quality and human resources. Based on the above description, local economic growth is highly possible with the support of adequate facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

THis community service activity aims to enhance the human resource capacity of Dasawisma members in effective administration management as a family development data base at the sub-district level. The assistance was conducted using a participatory approach and hands-on practice, including socialization, technical administrative training, and reflective discussion. The results indicated an increase in Dasawisma members' understanding of the importance of orderly, systematic, and integrated administration in supporting social activities. Members' technical skills in managing family data, filling administrative books, classifying information, and preparing simple reports improved significantly. Furthermore, the assistance strengthened communication and coordination between Dasawisma and sub-district officials, promoted group independence, and strengthened Dasawisma's role as a key data source for family development. These findings confirm that planned and participatory higher education assistance plays a strategic role in community empowerment, supports good governance at the local level, and can serve as a replicable model for other community development programs.
