Abstract

Juvenile delinquency and drug abuse are two closely related social problems that seriously threaten the moral development and future of the nation's young generation. This community service program, carried out by KKN (Community Service) students of Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya in 2026 at SMPN 1 Tambun Selatan, aims to provide education and awareness regarding juvenile delinquency and the dangers of narcotics to students. The implementation method involved preparatory coordination with the school, counseling sessions through interactive presentations, and the distribution of educational materials. The program involved 120 students from grades VII and VIII. The results show a significant increase in participants' understanding of the legal consequences of juvenile delinquency under Law No. 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Justice System (SPPA), the types and dangers of narcotics under Law No. 35 of 2009, as well as motivational encouragement to maintain healthy lifestyles. This program demonstrates that structured counseling activities conducted as part of a KKN work program can serve as an effective and impactful means of community empowerment within the educational environment.

Abstract

Indonesia is highly vulnerable to earthquakes due to its geological setting, making disaster preparedness an essential priority, particularly for children as one of the most vulnerable groups. This Community Service Program (CSP) aimed to improve the knowledge and earthquake preparedness of children at the Nurul Hasanah Orphanage through an interactive educational medium, the Earthquake Preparedness Snakes and Ladders Game (Ular Tangga Siaga Gempa/UTSG). The program employed a participatory learning approach combined with experiential learning. The activities consisted of a pretest, educational sessions, implementation of the UTSG game, an evacuation simulation, and a post test. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge of earthquake self-protection measures, evacuation procedures, and the identification of safe assembly points. In addition, participants were able to correctly perform evacuation procedures during the simulation, indicating enhanced practical skills in responding to emergency situations. The UTSG learning media also increased participants’ enthusiasm and active engagement by providing an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. In conclusion, game-based learning integrated with evacuation simulations is an effective approach to improving earthquake preparedness among children and has the potential to serve as an alternative disaster education medium for orphanages and other educational institutions.
