Abstract

The growth of financial technology (fintech) in Indonesia, particularly in the Industry 4.0 era, has accelerated significantly. This development is driven by digital transformation and high levels of technology adoption, especially among the younger generation. A survey by Kredivo and the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) indicates that domestic PayLater users are predominantly millennials and Gen Z. Although PayLater users are dominated by millennials and Gen Z, when compared in terms of financial literacy, the data shows that Gen Z has the lowest financial literacy. Furthermore, while the use of fintech services like Shopee PayLater provides easier access to shopping, its use also carries potential risks. Additionally, aside from being influenced by financial literacy and risk perception, interest in using Shopee PayLater can also be influenced by self-control. The objective of this study is to test and determine the influence of financial literacy, risk perception, and self-control on interest in using the Shopee PayLater fintech service. This study was conducted in the city of Denpasar. The population in this study consists of Generation Z in Denpasar, totaling 226,450 people in 2024. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula; based on the calculation using the Slovin formula, the sample size for this study was set at 100 respondents. Furthermore, the technique used for sample selection was purposive sampling. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on interest in using Shopee Paylater fintech among Generation Z in Denpasar; risk perception has a positive and significant effect on interest in using Shopee Paylater fintech among Generation Z in Denpasar; and self-control has a positive and significant effect on interest in using Shopee Paylater fintech among Generation Z in Denpasar.

Abstract

Every organization naturally wants to have high-quality human resources (HR). The role of HR extends beyond administrative tasks such as recruitment and employee administration; it also encompasses the development, retention, and management of human potential within the organization. The large number of employees in an organization undoubtedly requires effective management to ensure they remain a cohesive unit. However, it cannot be denied that in today’s era, human nature—which is inherently self-centered, seeks personal security, and strives for the best for oneself—leads to the phenomenon of turnover intention. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of work-life balance and work engagement on turnover intention, as well as the influence of work engagement on work-life balance. The sample in this study consisted of 56 non-permanent employees at the Regional Public Water Supply Company (PDAM) Tirta Sanjiwani in Gianyar Regency. The research sample was selected using a saturated sampling method. The data analysis technique employed was regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that work-life balance has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention, work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on work engagement, and work engagement has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention.

Abstract

In order to create innovations that can improve the competitiveness and quality of a company, the development and improvement of employee performance must be a top priority for the company. One factor that can affect employee performance in a company is emotional intelligence. The ability to manage emotions enables employees to continue to carry out their responsibilities professionally even under pressure. Another factor that can affect employee performance is workload. The workload assigned to employees must be balanced with their competencies and abilities; otherwise, sooner or later, it will cause problems that can disrupt employee performance. Another factor that affects employee performance in a company is work stress. Employees who experience stress will generally experience a decline in performance due to mental tension. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the influence of emotional intelligence, workload, and work stress on employee performance. This research was conducted at PT Berlimpah Anugerah Sejati, located at Jl. Cargo Permai No.9X, Ubung, Kec. Denpasar Utara, Kota Denpasar. The population in this study was all 36 employees of PT Berlimpah Anugerah Sejati Denpasar. Considering that the population in this study was less than 100, the sampling technique used was saturated sampling. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that emotional intelligence had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, workload had a negative and significant effect on employee performance, and work stress had a negative and significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

Philippine private higher education institutions (HEIs) operate in a constrained environment where the delivery of a public-good service is closely tied to tuition dependence, enrollment uncertainty, and cost pressures that are difficult to pass on to families. In this context, this study examined how corporate social responsibility (CSR) was integrated into the governance and operating practices of private HEIs facing financial and competitive pressure. Using a multiple- case, mixed-method design, the research analyzed how CSR priorities were embedded in board oversight, budgeting, monitoring routines, student support systems, and institutional reporting. The findings showed that while most institutions articulated CSR commitments clearly, meaningful differences emerged in governance discipline rather than in values language. CSR initiatives were more stable in HEIs where responsibilities were supported by formal policies, protected budget lines, and routine review processes, particularly under tuition dependence and enrollment volatility. The study also found uneven credibility in CSR reporting, with recruitment pressures sometimes blurring reporting and promotion. Institutions with clearer indicators, assigned data ownership, and basic review controls produced more credible disclosures, even when reporting fewer items. Stakeholder trust was most strongly associated with education- specific responsibilities directly experienced by students and staff, including scholarship transparency, student welfare systems, fair academic procedures, and accessible learning support.
