Abstract

This addresses the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, which presents both opportunities and challenges for character building, particularly regarding work ethic, responsibility, and academic integrity. The use of AI without ethical awareness has the potential to reduce the quality of the thinking process and the meaning of learning. Therefore, a value framework is needed that can guide the responsible use of technology. This research aims to examine the concept of itqān in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the foundation of work ethics and analyze its relevance in education in the AI era. The formulation of the concept of itqān in this research is not only an individual work ethic, but as an operational pedagogical ethical principle in guiding the use of AI in the learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of library research, through content analysis of the hadith of the Prophet and literature related to character education and artificial intelligence. The results show that itqān is an ethical principle rooted in the values of iḥsān, amanah, ikhlāṣ, and mas’ūliyyah which emphasizes sincerity, thoroughness, and responsibility in every deed. In the context of AI, itqān serves as a normative framework that guides the critical and verifiable use of technology, without replacing human thought processes. Therefore, integrating itqān values into education can strengthen students' character, ensuring they remain oriented toward process quality and integrity amidst technological advancements. This research contributes conceptually to formulating an Islamic-based pedagogical ethic that is adaptive to the development of AI.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the actualization of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers' exemplary behavior and collaboration with parents in shaping the religious character of students in the digital era at SMPN 3 Colomadu. The development of digital technology presents new challenges in the character formation process, particularly related to exposure to negative content, social media distractions, and low supervision of device use in the family environment. This study uses a phenomenological approach to deeply understand the experiences and perspectives of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in carrying out their roles. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using triangulation techniques to maintain data validity. The results show that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers have a strategic role as comprehensive educators who not only transfer knowledge but also instill moral values through concrete role models in everyday life. Exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah) has proven to be an effective method in shaping students' religious character because it provides concrete examples to emulate. Furthermore, challenges of the digital era, such as social media distractions and exposure to negative content, require strengthened supervision and ongoing character development. Therefore, collaboration between teachers, schools, and parents is a key factor in creating consistent character development, so that religious values can be more optimally internalized in students' lives.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine how employing the tafsir methodology affects the proficiency in Qur'anic recitation demonstrated by attendees at the Pondok Pesantren Medan Reciting Center. Adopting a quantitative framework utilizing a descriptive-correlational design, this investigation will quantify the association and effect stemming from the implementation of the tafsir method on the pupils' level of Qur'an reading competence. Participants in this investigation comprise currently enrolled students at the facility who possess foundational skills in reading the Qur'an but encounter difficulties regarding reading speed, accurate articulation of sounds (makhraj), and correct execution of the rules of recitation tajweed. Data was collected through a Likert scale closed questionnaire that captured students' learning experiences with their interpretation methods and Qur'an reading skills. The data were analyzed using SPSS software, which included validity, reliability, normality, linearity, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and partial t-test. The results of the study show that the tafsir method makes a positive contribution in improving students' Qur'an reading ability. Integrating the explanation of verse meaning into the learning process supports smoother reading, more precise pronunciation of letters, and better application of tajweed. Thus, the tafsir method serves as an effective teaching strategy to improve the quality of students' Qur'an reading ability.

Abstract

Islamic mortgage financing (KPR iB) is one of the flagship products of Islamic banking in Indonesia, designed to facilitate home ownership in accordance with Sharia principles. However, customer participation in KPR iB remains suboptimal compared to conventional mortgage products. This study aims to examine the factors influencing customer decisions in choosing KPR iB, particularly from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law. The study specifically analyzes: (1) the influence of Sharia compliance, product innovation diffusion, promotion, and product quality on customer decisions to choose KPR iB in Bogor; and (2) the mediating role of customer decisions in the relationship between those variables and the increase of Islamic bank market share. This research employs a Mixed Methods approach, with an Explanatory Sequential Design combining quantitative and qualitative analyses. The theoretical framework includes Rational Choice Theory (Gary Becker) as the Grand Theory, Islamic Consumer Behavior Theory (Umer Chapra) as the Middle Theory, and Sharia Compliance Theory (Monzer Kahf) as the Application Theory. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The findings indicate that: (1) Sharia compliance does not significantly influence customer decisions; (2) product innovation, promotion, and product quality have a significant positive effect on customer decisions; and (3) customer decision does not mediate the relationship between Sharia compliance and market share, but effectively mediates the impact of product innovation, promotion, and product quality on increasing Islamic bank market share.

Abstract

The coordinating role of the Medan City Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Community Empowerment, Population Control, and Family Planning Office (DP3APMP2KB) is crucial in efforts to address violence against children. Cross-sector coordination involving the police, hospitals, UPTD PPA, P2TP2A, and psychological and legal assistance institutions is key to ensuring that case handling is swift, integrated, and responsive to the victims' needs. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, literature studies, and document analysis. The study was conducted at the Medan City DP3APMP2KB office with informants consisting of the Head of UPTD PPA, the Women's and Children's Rights Protection Division, the Banit PPA Polrestabes, the PPA Task Force, and the community. The results of the study indicate that coordination between DP3APMP2KB and the police has been running quite well, especially in aspects of unity of action, division of labor, and discipline. However, the communication aspect is still not optimal due to obstacles in the delivery of information and the absence of a regular communication forum between agencies. This situation has resulted in less than optimal integration of case handling in the field. Therefore, strengthening communication mechanisms and ongoing coordination forums is necessary to improve the effectiveness of child protection in Medan City.

Abstract

The paradigm shift of power in International Relations positions cultural heritage diplomacy as a strategic soft power instrument. Through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Türkiye funds the restoration of Ottoman-era buildings in the Balkans to strengthen its geopolitical influence. This study aims to analyze how Türkiye's cultural diplomacy strategy contributes to the tourism economy in Albania. Employing a qualitative approach with a document analysis method, this research evaluates academic literature, institutional reports, statistical data, and public discourse in mass media using reflexive thematic analysis. The findings reveal a pragmatic symbiosis between Türkiye's ambitions and Albania's economy. Although Albania's tourism is predominantly driven by nature and coastal attractions, the restoration of historical buildings by Türkiye is utilized by Albania to diversify its cultural tourism sector. A geopolitical paradox emerges: Eastern-nuanced assets funded by Türkiye paradoxically become tourist commodities whose primary market consists of European citizens (accounting for 95% of the 11.7 million tourists in 2024). Conversely, new construction projects such as the Namazgâh Mosque trigger domestic ambivalence, as the "Turco-centric" image is perceived as a potential hindrance to Albania's "Eurocentric" integration narrative. In conclusion, Türkiye's cultural diplomacy serves as a catalyst for tourism diversification, generating an economic multiplier effect for Albania, while simultaneously compelling the country to navigate the tension between an Eastern heritage identity and a Western political orientation.

Abstract

The topic of Muslim women’s attire is always an intriguing subject of study, particularly within the discourse of contemporary Islam, where its relevance remains a subject of ongoing debate. Differences in methodology and contextual perspectives often fuel these debates across various circles, including discussions regarding the transformation of the definition of “aurat” from classical fiqh to a contextual approach. This paper aims to examine the similarities and differences in the interpretations of M. Quraish Shihab and Wahbah az-Zuhaili in their works, Tafsir al-Misbah and Tafsir al-Munir, as well as al-Fiqh al-Islami wa Adillatuhu, regarding the boundaries of women’s aurat. This paper is based on qualitative research using a literature review (library research) methodology. The research data was analyzed using the comparative exegesis (tafsir muqaran) method through the steps of data display, identifying characteristics, and critical evaluation. The research focuses on two main verses: Surah al-Ahzab [33]:59 and Surah an-Nur [24]:31. The results of this study indicate that M. Quraish Shihab and Wahbah az-Zuhaili share the view that the face and palms are not considered aurat in principle. However, they differ in their methodologies and the nature of the legal ruling regarding the hijab; Shihab places greater emphasis on cultural standards of modesty ('urf), while Az-Zuhaili adheres to classical legal standards that are fixed in nature as a form of worship and moral protection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of strategic management in improving the quality of Qur'an memorization in tahfidz programs at Islamic junior high schools (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) in Purbalingga from the perspective of the sociology of educational institutions. The research employs a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design at MTs Muhammadiyah 01 Purbalingga and MTs Ma’arif NU 05 Majasari. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and archival records, and analyzed using pattern matching, explanation building, and cross-case synthesis techniques. The findings reveal that the implementation of strategic management—covering strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation—plays a significant role in enhancing the effectiveness of tahfidz programs. Strategy formulation through SWOT and PESTLE analysis helps schools comprehensively understand internal and external conditions. Strategy implementation supported by resource management and supervision using the Balanced Scorecard improves program execution. Meanwhile, periodic evaluation through monitoring systems and feedback loops enables continuous improvement in students’ memorization achievements. Overall, comprehensive strategic management enhances the quality of Qur'an memorization and fosters competitive advantage in Islamic education institutions.
