Abstract

College is a complex environment with students facing a variety of academic, career, and mental well-being pressures. Therefore, guidance and counseling services in higher education have increased urgency in supporting students to face these challenges. This research aims to identify the urgency of guidance and counseling services in higher education in optimizing academic development, career development and mental well-being of students. This research involves a comprehensive literature perspective on the role and benefits of guidance and counseling services in higher education. Data were analyzed by considering findings from a number of relevant studies. The research results show that guidance and counseling services in higher education have a central role in helping students achieve academic success, plan appropriate careers, and maintain their mental and emotional well-being. The urgency of this service is increasingly strengthened by changes in social dynamics, technology and an increasingly complex world of work. Therefore, investment in the development and provision of guidance and counseling services in higher education is an urgent need to support student growth and development in the modern era.

Abstract

This research seeks to explore the phenomenological experiences of Islamic boarding school students when they become peer counselors. On the one hand, he carries out professional peer counseling, but on the other hand, he also experiences a crisis or exploration as a stage of his psychological development. This research will answer how he manages psychological turmoil as a person and peer counselor. Researchers use qualitative phenomenological research which makes it possible to explore in depth the phenomenon, the subject's experience of himself, his interactions with other people, and the subject's experience of other people's experiences. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis went through five stages, including; 1) Manage and prepare data; 2) Read all the data; 3) Coding; 4) Grouping/Creating themes; and 5) Conclusion and Discussion. The findings in this research are grouped into two themes as follows; 1) Problems experienced by peer counselors; and 2) Self Help method carried out by peer counselors. Self-help methods carried out by peer counselors are meditation, crying therapy, and journalizing/narrative therapies. Each self-help method also produces information about the reasons for choosing the method, how to do the self-help, time and place, and the effects caused after doing the self-help.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the efforts of PAI teachers in improving understanding of religious literacy and PAI teacher strategies in the implementation of religious activities as an effort to build students' religious character. The research method used is qualitative with the main data source of PAI teachers and students, while the supporting data source is the deputy curriculum and deputy student affairs. Data collection in this research was done by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. While the data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study at SMAN 5 Pariaman, PAI teachers' efforts in improving understanding of religious literacy include reading religious books, listening to studies, utilizing digital media to find information and joining groups that discuss religion as well as attending seminars, workshops and writing training. PAI teachers' strategies in implementing religious literacy activities as an effort to shape students' religious character by providing tadarus journals and weekly recapitulation. Accompanying students during cultum activities on the school field and youth groups at the mosque. Then provide motivation, advice and sanctions for students who do not participate in religious activities.

Abstract

Arabic requires four competencies in its mastery, maharatul istima', maharatul kalam, maharatul qira'ah and maharatul kitabah. In Maharatul Kalam which is a practical ability in speaking, STIT Diniyyah Puteri Rahmah El Yunusiyyah still does not show maximum mastery, this is evidenced by the lack of conversation used in Arabic and also the use of rules that are not appropriate when speaking. This can be seen from the initial observation value made by lecturers showing an achievement of 42%. This type of research is a class action research (PTK) and is carried out at STIT Diniyyah Puteri Rahmah el Yunusiyyah Padang Panjang. With the subject of research for 5th semester female students of the PAI Study Program for the academic year 2022-2023, consisting of 12 students. The instrument used is an observation sheet on the improvement of maharatul kalam carried out directly by the eye-supporting lecturer as well as the researcher. The results of this study show that the application of the Taqdimul Qissah method can improve speaking skills in semester 5 of PAI STIT Diniyyah Puteri Rahmah el Yunusiyyah. The increase can be seen from the average score of maharatul kalam through taqdimul qissah without props, which is 57.10%. Then by using the media props that have been prepared, both in the form of pictures displayed such as playing puppets, as well as props worn directly as clothes by the narrator can increase enthusiasm in learning so that there is a more significant increase in the second cycle, which is 82.21%.

Abstract

This study aims to review the challenges faced by Islamic Education teachers in madrasahs, with the hope of advancing and developing education in these institutions. Education plays a crucial role in shaping individuals with comprehensive competencies, encompassing both attitudes and knowledge. The descriptive method is employed to identify the issues and their solutions. The findings reveal that insufficient human resources are a significant obstacle in enhancing the competencies required by learners. Islamic Education teachers encounter challenges in lesson planning, creating teaching agendas, and effectively and patiently educating students. Proficiency in technology among teachers is also crucial for acquiring additional knowledge and accelerating the dissemination of information relevant to madrasah needs. Consequently, madrasahs can enhance the competencies of their students. This research provides recommendations for enhancing institutional support, providing ongoing training, and reducing the administrative burden on teachers to improve the professionalism and effectiveness of Islamic Education teachers in madrasahs.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model to learning outcomes and learning motivation for Islamic Religious Education in class VII SMPIT Dar El Iman. This research is experimental. The research design uses a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Posttest Only Control Design research design. The population in this study was class VII students at SMPIT Dar El Iman for the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 62 students. Sampling uses saturated samples. Two classes are research subjects, namely class VII Makkah as the experimental class and class VII Medina as the control class. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the manual t-test method, the data value = 5.8 > the value = 1.679. So it can be concluded that it was rejected and accepted. The number of test participants in the experimental class was 31 people with an average score of 89 and test participants from the control class were 31 with an average of 72. This means "The learning outcomes of students who use the SAVI learning model are better than the learning outcomes of students who apply the learning model. commonly used by teachers.” The magnitude of the influence of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model on the learning motivation of class VII students at Dar El Iman Middle School is 68.43% which is classified as good.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the development of students’ Islamic character through the implementation of the exemplary method at SDN Unggul Terpadu Padang Pariaman. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, referring to a modified Kemmis and McTaggart model, which included the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 students, with data collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ Islamic character. In the first cycle, only 30% of students demonstrated positive behavioral changes, though inconsistently. After refining the strategy in the second cycle, the proportion increased to 85%. Specific improvements were observed in worship discipline (from 35% to 75%), honesty (from 25% to 80%), responsibility in completing tasks (from 30% to 85%), and empathy (from 20% to 70%). These results indicate that teachers’ consistency in modeling positive behavior effectively motivated students to adopt such behavior, creating a more conducive classroom environment. Thus, this study highlights the exemplary method as an effective strategy in fostering student character, particularly in the aspects of religiosity, discipline, honesty, responsibility, and empathy. The success of this approach was further reinforced by the supportive school culture and parental involvement in strengthening character values at home.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana peran orang tua terhadap pembentukan karakter anak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui upaya dan kendala peranan orang terhadap pembentukan karakter anak. Metode penelitian yang dipilih oleh peneliti adalah metode kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu study pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara. Peneliti melakukan penelitian yang bertempat di Nagari Toboh Gadang Selatan, Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang. Subjek yang di wawancara oleh peneliti berjumlah sebanyak tiga orang narasumber. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan (reduksi, display, dan verifikasi) menghasilkan dua pengelompokkan yaitu upaya pembentukan karakter anak dan kendala yang dihadapi orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak. Dari hasil yang ditemukan oleh peneliti, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Upaya orang tua membentuk karakter anak di Nagari Toboh Gadang Selatan menanamkan nilai-nilai religius, kepemimpinan dan keteladanan sejak dini dan Kendala yang dihadapi orang tua dalam mengembangkan karakter anaknya di Nagari Toboh Gadang Selatan adalah pengaruh lingkungan (teman sebaya), kurangnya waktu bersama anak dan media sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of direct exposure of native speakers in overcoming barriers to speaking Arabic among students majoring in Islamic Religious Education at STIT Diniyyah Puteri Rahmah El Yunusiyyah Padang Panjang. The results of the study showed that female students who regularly listened to podcasts, movies, or cartoons in Arabic fusha with translated text tended to have better speaking skills and confidence. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, this study involves 30 female students who are selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis techniques. The validity of the data was tested by triangulation technique. This study suggests that higher education institutions integrate the use of Arabic-language media in the curriculum to improve students' language skills, helping to improve their pronunciation, intonation, and speaking fluency. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of Arabic language learning methods in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the concepts, models, strategies, and factors that influence the implementation of community da'wah from the perspective of Muhammadiyah. Community da'wah is seen as a strategic effort to integrate Islamic values into people's lives through a community-based approach. In Muhammadiyah's perspective, community da'wah is based on the principle of Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar and the spirit of Islam Berkemajuan, which prioritises combining religious values with scientific and technological advances. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data obtained through a search for previous studies using Google Scholar and Website Dimensions. Further analysis of relevant authors was carried out with the help of VOSViewer software. The research data was sourced from books and relevant online scientific articles. The results showed that the implementation of Muhammadiyah community da'wah uses cultural, structural, and digital technology approaches. Internal factors, such as ideology, human resources, infrastructure, and da'wah methods, provide a strong foundation for the organisation, while external factors, such as social dynamics, economic challenges, technological developments, and relationships with the government and other organisations, become both opportunities and challenges. A planned and adaptive approach makes Muhammadiyah community da'wah able to answer the needs of modern society and make a significant contribution to people's development.
