Abstract

This research aims to examine the concept of Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) in adolescent education based on the perspectives of Ary Ginanjar Agustian and Muhammad Utsman Najati. This research is motivated by the reality of a character crisis experienced by many adolescents today, marked by weak self-control, a loss of life direction, and the degradation of spiritual values. The research was conducted using a library research method with a descriptive and comparative approach. The findings indicate that Ary Ginanjar Agustian, through the ESQ approach, emphasizes the importance of integrating intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence grounded in the Pillars of Faith (Rukun Iman), the Pillars of Islam (Rukun Islam), and the concept of Ihsan. Meanwhile, Muhammad Utsman Najati focuses the ESQ concept on emotional regulation and soul purification based on the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic psychology. The ESQ concept proves to be highly relevant in addressing contemporary challenges in adolescent education by instilling divine values, empathy, responsibility, and self-control. Therefore, implementing the ESQ concept within families, schools, and society is essential to shape adolescents who are faithful, virtuous, and resilient.

Abstract

Accountability in village financial management is a crucial element in realizing good village governance and clean governance. As the transfer of village funds from the central government increases, there is a growing need for financial management and reporting mechanisms that are effective, efficient, transparent, honest, participatory, and accountable. This article aims to analyze the level of accountability in village financial management, identify key challenges in its implementation, and formulate improvement strategies. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review as the basis of analysis. The findings indicate that weak capacity and capability of village officials, low community participation, and limited oversight from supervisory institutions are the main obstacles to achieving village financial accountability. Therefore, improving human resource competencies, implementing digital-based reporting systems, and strengthening the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) are strategic recommendations to enhance transparency and accountability in village financial management.

Abstract

The 68th Malaysian Independence Day celebration, carrying the theme “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni,” was held on August 28, 2025, at Sekolah Menengah Islam (SMI) Ad-Dimyati, Kuala Selangor, aiming to instill the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, and love for the homeland among the school community. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method through participatory observation, documentation, and thematic analysis. The findings revealed that a series of activities such as classroom decoration competitions, flag-raising ceremonies, poetry recitations, and patriotic song performances effectively strengthened national character values and enhanced the active participation of the entire school community, including teachers, staff, students, and KKN (Community Service Program) students. Beyond a ceremonial celebration, this event served as a means of character education integrated with real-life experiences, aligning with the concept of hidden curriculum in education. These findings emphasize the importance of national day commemorations in educational institutions as a medium for learning historical values, national identity, and social solidarity. Therefore, the Independence Day celebration at SMI Ad-Dimyati can serve as an ideal model for other schools in integrating character education with contextual and reflective national activities.

Abstract

This research is based on the background that shows that there are still some students who have problems in discipline, responsibility for their duties, lack of manners to teachers, and lack of reflection of Islamic values in dressing and speaking. This research was carried out at MTs Negeri Bogor City. The purpose of the study is to explain how learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) and character development of students, as well as to find out whether there is an influence of learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) on student character development, in MTsN Bogor City This research uses a quantitative method. The research instrument used questionnaires given to students, and the data obtained was analyzed with the help of the SPSS version 29 application with the product moment correlation analysis technique. The population in this study was 954 students and used 64 students as a research sample. The results of the analysis showed that r-count was 0.580 > r-table was 0.254, therefore H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means that there is an influence of learning Islamic cultural history on the development of students' character. Likewise, the significance test with the t-test with a t-test result of 5.611 > t table 1.669. Therefore, the influence of learning Islamic cultural history on the development of students' character is significant, while the contribution of Islamic cultural history learning to student character development is shown by KD (Coefficient of Determination) = 0.337 which means that learning Islamic cultural history contributes 33.7% to student character development.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of religious messaging in the digital realm, driven by the need to understand the impact of visualization on young audiences' perceptions of faith amidst increasingly crowded social networks. The research aims to dissect the formation of meaning in online da'wah activities by examining the complex blend of visual elements and storylines on the Instagram account @hanan_attaki from 2021 to 2025. The primary focus is on examining how religious intermediaries transform conventional teachings into emotionally charged personal experiences, presented specifically for Gen Z. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through virtual ethnography and Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis, this study meticulously breaks down digital codes down to the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth. This methodology allows for an in-depth exploration of how digital content creators manipulate symbols to align with contemporary sensibilities. The study reveals that the use of cinematic backdrops, soothing color gradations, and intimate appearances successfully constructs a significant new ideological myth: "Islam as Aesthetic Healing ." This semiotic transformation integrates religious rituals into the framework of modern life, effectively bridging the gap between noble values ​​and the fast-paced nature of digital culture. The study's conclusion emphasizes that while visual appeal is a key gateway for maintaining spiritual messages' relevance in the digital age, there is a real threat of watering down the essence of rich religious teachings into mere lifestyle symbols. This study offers a needed critical perspective on how faith is conveyed, emphasizing that efforts to achieve digital interaction and visual appeal should not override the depth of theological substance. Ultimately, this research suggests that transforming religious symbols into merchandise on Instagram creates a paradoxical situation: faith becomes more accessible but risks being diluted when consumed.
