Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini, adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimanal kemampuan penalaran matematis pada ditinjau dari gaya kognitif siswa. Data yang diolah dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa berdasarkan dari gaya kognitif visualizer dan verbalizer. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, tes dan wawancara. Angket yang digunakan merupakan angket gaya koginitif yang diadopsi oleh Mandelson dan soal yang digunakan dalam bentuk tes untuk mengukur kemampuan penalaran matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis subjek yang memiliki gaya kognitif verbalizer menunjukkan dalam mengumpulkan informasi membaca berulang kali soal menuliskan informasi sesuai urutan dan menuliskan dengan lengkap yang diketahui dan yang ditanyakan dari permasalahan, dalam menntukan model matematika subjek yang bergaya kognitif verbalizer menyatukan informasi yang telah dia tulis kedalam bentuk pertidaksamaan. Sedangkan, kemampuan penalaran matematis subjek penelitian yang memiliki gaya kognitif visualizer menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengolah informasi hanya menyebutkan beberapa hal saja,tidak menuliskan secara lengkap, memisalkan informasi yang diatemukan untuk mempermudah subjek untuk mengelola informasinya, cara pengerjaan yang singkat namun tepat, dalam melaksanakan rencana sesuai dengan prosedur yang dibuat, dalam menarik kesimpulan subjek mengaitkan dengan kehidupan sehari untuk mendukung kebenaran jawabannya selain memeriksa kembali uraian jawabannya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the living environment and students' attitudes towards mathematics learning outcomes of SMA Sungguminasa Gowa students. The type of research "Ex-Post Facto" is correlational with a sample of 30 students from class X IPA 2 SMA Sungguminasa Gowa who were selected using simple random sampling. The problem being investigated is the effect of the environment where students live and attitudes towards mathematics learning outcomes of SMA Sungguminasa Gowa students. Data collection techniques using instruments: (1) Questionnaire of the environment where students live and attitudes, (2) Mathematics learning outcomes test. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis show (1) The average score of the mathematics learning outcomes of class X IPA 2 SMA Sungguminasa Gowa for the academic year 2022/2023 is 82.800 from an ideal score of 100 with a standard deviation of 12.505. (2) The average score of the neighborhood is 46.767 out of an ideal score of 65 with a standard deviation of 7.601. (3) The average score of student attitudes is 50.933 from the ideal score of 70 with a standard deviation of 8.718. The results of inferential statistical analysis show (1) the living environment has a positive and significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of class X IPA 2 SMA Sungguminasa Gowa with tcount=2.201>ttable=2.052. (2) Student attitudes have a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes (Y) of class X IPA 2 SMA Sungguminasa Gowa with tcount=3.208> ttable=2.052. (3) The living environment and students' attitudes together have a positive and significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of class X IPA 2 SMA Sungguminasa Gowa with Fcount=63.710>Ftable=3.340 with an R2 contribution of 82.5%.

Abstract

This is qualitative research. The purpose of the research was to describe students’ conceptual understanding according to their own cognitive styles. The mathematical concept tested on the student was a system of linear equations of two variables. The subject of this research was two students from Grade XI of SMAN 4 Bantaeng. One of the subjects is field independent and the other student is field dependent. The instruments of this research were Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), a conceptual understanding written test, and a task-based interview. The analysis technic of this research was a qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research data, it was found that students of the field independently satisfy all indicators of conceptual understanding, namely define a concept in verbal and writing; use models, diagrams, or symbols to present a concept; change a representative form to another form; recognize various meaning of a concept; identify properties of a concept and recognize conditions that define it; compare various concepts; estimate; and provide examples and non-examples of a concept. Students of field dependentweres only satisfy seven indicators of conceptual understanding. The only one that was not satisfied by a student of dependent was recognizing various meanings of a concept.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the basic sciences that is very important to be taught to students. Mathematics subjects need to be given to all students starting from the elementary school level to equip students with the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, as well as the ability to work together. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the interaction of the Group Investigation (GI) learning method and independent learning on mathematics learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SMPN 17 Makassar. The affordable population in this study were class VII students of SMPN 17 Makassar. While the research sample was randomly selected from two classes from all class VII SMPN 17 Makassar assuming all classes were homogeneous. The research method used was quasi-experimental with the research hypothesis testing technique used was a two-way ANOVA with a 2 x 2 factorial. The data analysis requirements test used was the normality test and homogeneity test. The test results show that all data groups are normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of hypothesis testing showed that there was no interaction effect of the Group Investigation (GI) learning method and independent learning on mathematics learning outcomes. Based on the results of this study, efforts were made for teachers in learning mathematics to apply the Group Investigation (GI) learning method and seek to increase student learning independence.

Abstract

This study aims at examining (1) the difference of learning results between student who taught by guided discovery method and the ones taught by expository method, (2) the interaction between the method and students’ learning motivation toward students’ learning achievement. The population of this study was grade X students of SMAN 1 Wotu. As the sample, two classes were taken with 66 students which was divided into two groups, namely the experiment class and the control class. Grade XA with 33 students was the experiment class with guided discovery method; whereas, grade XB with 33 students was control calls with expository method. Sample was selected by using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by using test of learning achievement and questionnaire of learning motivation. Testing requirement analysis used normality test and homogeneity test. Data were analyzed by using the variance analysis. As a followed up of variance analysis, the post-hot test was conducted by using LSD test (Least Significant Difference). The result with α = 0,05 shows that (1) p = 0.00 < 0.05 that H0 is rejected which means that there is a difference of students’ learning achievement between students who taught by guided discovery method and the ones taught by expository method, and (2) p = 0.153 > 0.05 that H0 is accepted which means that there is no interaction between method and students’ learning motivation toward students’ learning achievement.

Abstract

This type of research is descriptive research. This study aims to determine the understanding of concepts in solving three-dimensional geometry problems in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. Furthermore, selecting samples with Cluster Random Sampling technique. The selected sample in this study is class XI Accounting Department. From this sample, interviews will be continued with 9 students consisting of 3 students in the high category, 3 students in the medium category, and 3 students in the low category. The instruments in this study in the form of concept understanding tests and interview guidelines used to determine the understanding of concepts in solving three-dimensional geometry problems in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive statistical analysis with the aim of describing the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion that has been stated, the conclusion in this study is the understanding of concepts in solving geometry problems of three dimensions in class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar is on the indicators: (1) Concept understanding on indicator I, namely giving examples and not examples of a concept by 91%, (2) Concept understanding on indicator II, namely presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation by 53%, and (3) Concept understanding on indicator III, namely applying concepts or algorithms in problem solving by 57%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan rasional kelas VII. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang menggambarkan secara mendalam tentang hasil belajar siswa sebagai fokus utama penelitian, dengan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan data yang terkumpul. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Seleksi subjek didasarkan pada hasil nilai Ulangan Harian (UH) sebelumnya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan mencakup tes dan wawancara. Kemampuan berhitung siswa terbagi menjadi tiga kategori, yakni kemampuan berhitung tinggi, kemampuan berhitung sedang, dan kemampuan berhitung rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari keseluruhan sampel yang diteliti yaitu 30 siswa, sebanyak 10 siswa memiliki nilai 70-100, dan 15 siswa memiliki nilai diatas 60, serta 5 siswa memiliki nilai dibawah 58. Sehingga, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung pada materi bilangan rasional kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan, maka guru memberikan penguatan pada konsep dasar operasi hitung bilangan terlebih dahulu, dan memberikan bimbingan khusus bagi siswa untuk memperbaiki kesalahan konsep agar kekmampuan berhitung siswa dapat meningkat. Serta diharapkan untuk memberikan sistem pembelajaran yang menarik dan diberikan penekanan terhadap bilangan bulat tersebut di kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study is a pre-experimental research involving one experimental class that aims to determine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model in learning mathematics in class XI SMA PGRI Kota Makassar. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all 11th grade students of PGRI Tamalate II High School in Makassar City in the second semester of the 2022/2023 school year, then determining the sample with the Simple Random Sampling technique so that the XI.A class students were selected as the research sample. The instrument used in this study was a learning outcome test to determine the completeness of learning outcomes. The data collection technique used is a learning outcome test given to students at the end of the subject matter. In this study, two statistical analysis techniques were used, namely descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that descriptively the mathematics learning outcomes achieved by XI grade students of SMA PGRI Tamalate II Kota Makassar after applying the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model were included in the high category with an average value of 82.91 and achieved classical completeness of 92%. Inferentially shows the sign value = 0.000 < α = 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, in other words, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model is effectively applied in learning mathematics in class XI SMA PGRI Kota Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on students' mathematical representation ability. This type of research is a quasi-experiment involving two groups that are given different treatments. The population of this study was grade XI students of SMA Islam Terpadu Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar and two classes were selected by cluster random sampling as research samples, namely class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2. Class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class taught using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs), while class XI IPA 2 as a control class taught using conventional learning. The research instruments used were observation sheets for learning implementation, observation sheets on student activities, and tests on students' mathematical representation abilities. The data that has been collected using these instruments is analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that: (1) students' mathematical representation ability after being taught using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) was in the less category, namely 34.5786 out of an ideal score of 100, (2) students' mathematical representation ability after being taught using conventional learning was in the low category, which was 8.7636 out of an ideal score of 100, (3) the increase in students' mathematical representation ability after being taught using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) is in the low category, which is 0.170, (4) the increase in students' mathematical representation ability after being taught using conventional learning is in the less category, which is 0.0669. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that: (1) with the Mann-Whitney Test test it can be said that there is a significant difference between the mathematical representation ability score parameters of grade XI science students taught using the Eliciting Aivities Model and the mathematical representation ability score parameters of grade XI science students taught using conventional learning, (2) with the Mann-Whitney Test test, it can be said that there is no significant difference between the parameter of increasing the mathematical representation ability of grade XI science students taught using the Eliciting Aivities Model and the parameter of increasing the mathematical representation ability of grade XI science students taught using conventional learning. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is no influence of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on students' mathematical representation ability.

Abstract

The problem in this research is whether the checkerboard media affects improving mathematics learning outcomes in long unit material for class III UPTD students at SDN 104 Inpres Makkaraeng. This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were all class III students at UPTD SDN 104 Inpres Makkaraeng. Meanwhile, the researcher used a random sample for sampling, namely class III a with 23 students as the control class and class III b as the experimental class. The data collection techniques used by researchers are 1) Observation, 2) Pre-test and post-test given to students to determine student learning outcomes, and whether the results have improved or not. The results of the study are: In the control class, it can be seen that student learning outcomes have improved. The pretest result of the control class (III a) students was that students got an average score of 48.91. In the posted results of control class students (Class III a), the average data was 73.91 and was included in the category of incomplete KKM. The pretest result of experimental class students (III b) is that students get an average score of 53.21. As for the posted results of control class students (Class III b), the average data was 85.86. So the checkerboard media had an effect in improving the results learn mathematics in length unit material. The hypothesis put forward, namely, that the checkerboard media affects improving mathematics learning outcomes in long unit material for class III UPTD SDN 104 Inpres Makkaraeng, has been proven to be true.
