Abstract

This article aims to discuss two Sufi interpretations, namely al Jailani's interpretation by Syekh Abdul Qadir al Jailani and al Qusyairi's interpretation of Lathaif al Isyarat on the interpretation of QS. Al-Ahzab: 56 regarding blessings. The discussion includes the terminology of shalawat, the biographies of al Jailani and al Qusyairi, the characteristics of al Jailani's interpretation and al Qusyairi's interpretation, as well as the results of a comparison between the two. This research is included in qualitative research with literature study method. As well as the muqaran method in the analysis process. The results of this study are that in the interpretation of QS. Al Ahzab: 56 there are similarities and differences between the interpretations of al Jailani and al Qusyairi. The similarities are found on the side of the book of interpretation, in the form of sources, methods, and ittijah. The difference is in the purpose of writing, the meaning of the sign, and the style of language. Al Jailani aims to liberate the minds of the younger generation from moral decline as well as trying to uncover the meanings of the contents of the Koran. Meanwhile, al Qusyairi aims to reveal the meanings of the Koran according to ma'rifat experts in a concise manner so as not to be boring. In QS. Al Ahzab: 56, al Jailani places more emphasis on the obligation to pray to the Prophet SAW as a form of respect and exaltation. Meanwhile, al Qusyairi mentions that prayer is a tribute as well as asking for intercession from the Prophet SAW. Al Jailani's language style is more assertive in terms of the purpose of writing, while al Qusyairi is softer based on the purpose of writing.

Abstract

This article is about the concept of jihad in the Qur'an in the view of Wahbah az-Zuhaili through the book Tafsīr Al-Munīr Aqidah, Shari'ah, Manḣaj. The concept of jihad has always been a theme of pros and cons in the history of Muslim thought, so there needs to be a more in-depth and relevant study along with developments. What's more, many interpret jihad with the meaning of war. Wahbah is a contemporary scholar who has a broad mind and always offers solutions to various problems of the people. In addition, the book Tafsīr Al-Munīr was written with the spirit of the times and shed light on various issues of the times, especially the problem of jihad in society. It is with the spirit of the times and the breadth of thinking that makes this research a new study on important matters. This research will explain how the concept of jihad and how the interpretation of Wahbah related to the verses of jihad in the Qur'an. The method used in this research is character thematic and descriptive-analytical. So the conclusion of this research is that jihad has a diverse meaning and is not fixed in the meaning of war, even though in the verses of the Qur'an there is a meaning that leads to war. But that is a form of defense not attack.

Abstract

In general, this article describes the textual approach which has been considered as a counter-productive entity in understanding the Qur’an. This is because the ‘textuality of interpretation’ that has been carried by certain religious groups offers one concept: ‘one side truth claim’, unilateral truth. In this textual lens the interpretation of certain verse in the Qur’an looks very rigid, even touching the realm of extremism, both hard exxtrimsm (phsyical violence) and sof extremism (verbal or disourse violence). The vocabulary of Shirk, hypocrite, infidel is very familiar to hear from approaches that rely only on this textia; dimension. Resonance of these kinds of stimas is not only to respond to practices that are not agreed upon; but also to respond to national and state issues. The context of this kind of approach is of course very incompatible i fit has to be brought and applied to Indonesia’s climate which has a plural face. Therefore, as the anti-thesis of this group, there is also a group that offers a contextual approach to understanding Qur’an. the contextual approach is deemed appropriate and suitable considering the spirit contained in the Qur’an is ‘shalih likulli zaman wa makan’, relevant to every time and place. Therefore approaching the Qur’an with the spirit of its time cannot bi avoided, it is even felt to be very crusial, especially for religious communities. A person’s face or way of religion really depends on how he understand the basic sources of his teaching; Qur’an. Therefore, this research will further elaborate on these two approaches, especially, the textual approach in order to find out how relevant and what influences it has. To achive this, this research utilize the method of library research with a desriprive-analytical-crytical approach as an instrument to find objective data in viewing this reality.

Abstract

Early interpretations of Islam were carried out by taking several steps of interpretation. However, at this time the term method of interpretation was not yet known as the tendency of the mufasir. The term of tafsir method was known in the modern age. The method directs someone to determine the best steps in understanding the verses of the Qur’an according to the scientific background and the purpose of the mufasir. In addition, determining the tafsir method can adjust between the needs of interpretation and the conditions of society. Thus, it is truly true that the saying that Al-Qur’an is always in accordance with the times. This study aims to find out the variety of interpretation methods that are currently developing, the steps of interpretation of each method, the advantages and disadvantages contained in each method, and what tafsir books have applied the interpretation method in their tafsir books. There are four methods that are widely known among people who are engaged in the science of Al-Qur’an and Tafsir, namely the tahlili method, the ijmali method, the muqaran method, and the maudu'i method. These four methods are known by several terms, namely manhaj, tariqah, and uslub.

Abstract

Restrictions on social relations are still widely found in the midst of a multicultural world society. Nation, religion, race, ethnicity, language, and skin color often become barriers between individuals or communities interacting with each other, even discrimination to intimidation becomes the end of the bad relations that occur. The Qur'an, which is hudan linnâs, certainly does not allow disharmonious relations between humans to occur, because it contradicts the purpose of sending humans as executors of life, caretakers of the earth, and preservers of the universe. So it is necessary to trace the verses that discuss social relations; either implicitly or explicitly. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, using a library approach (library reseacrh). Researchers try to trace the verses related to social relations, then analyze and display the interpretations or arguments of experts. In general, this study found that social relations in the Qur'an cover all aspects of life, not limited to space and time, religion, ethnicity, race, language, nation, or skin color. There is an obligation to build good social relations for each individual towards their parents, children, neighbors, the wider community, fellow religions, or even between religions. The Qur'an fully emphasizes social relations among Muslims, then relaxes social relations between religions on the condition that they do not fight or bring no harm to them.

Abstract

The Qur'an is the book of the best morals and adab of all time. The ultimate miracle, the noblest reading, a manual that will guide us in our daily life until the end of the world. Imam Nawawi is a pious and pious scholar, he is also referred to as a scholar who is very productive in terms of writing. So it is not surprising that his works are numerous, popular, printed continuously and used as the main source in religious studies (Islamic studies). One of his works is the Book of Tibyan Fii Adabi Hamalatil Qur'an as the main reference in this research. This paper aims to reveal how Adab Ahlu Al-Qur'an is from Imam Nawawi's perspective and how Imam Nawawi narrates the contents of his book. This research is included in library research (library research). With data collection techniques using documentation studies of books and texts from the Book of Tibyan Fii Adabi Hamalatil Qur'an and content analysis. It turns out that as a whole the book talks about the manners and morals of a teacher, student, lover and practitioner of the Qur'an (ahlul qur’an). Imam Nawawi's perspective between teachers and students must have adab and morals when interacting with the Qur'an. The contents of the book include: the virtue of reading and memorizing it, the virtue of qira’ah and ahlul qira’ah, the obligation to glorify the ahlul qur'an, adab for teachers, students, and memorizing of the Qur'an, adab of reading the Qur'an, adab towards the Al-Qur'an 'an, recommendations for reading verses and letters at certain times, writing and ennobling the Al-Qur'an mushaf.

Abstract

This study seeks to provide an explanation of the sources of al-ma’ṡur and al-ra'yu in an interpretation as well as to analyze the influence of these two sources on contemporary exegetical works. This research is a literature study using content analysis techniques in processing the data obtained. The results of this study are that the source of al-ma’ṡur is a source of interpretation based on history, while the source of al-ra'yu is based on thought. The form of interpretation with the source of al-ma’ṡur can be in the form of interpretation of verses from the Koran, hadith, the opinion of friends and tabi'in, while the form of interpretation with the source of al-ra'yu is in the form of interpretation of verses based on the results of the mufasir's thoughts by relying on various aspects and point of view. The source of al-ra'yu is more widely used in contemporary works than the source of al-ma’ṡur. This is because the source of al-ra'yu is considered by contemporary interpreters to be very suitable for producing interpretations of verses that are in accordance with the times.

Abstract

Along with the current development of the flow of information and mass media and communication that is so fast and sometimes the information that comes in is very fast and allows for confusion of facts which results in distortion of facts. With the development of communication and information media, it will certainly be closely related to the increasingly effective and dynamic process of scientific transformation. The interpretation tradition has also experienced developments in various fields, one of which is in the field of methodology, which uses the hermeneutic method. The meaning interpretation theory approach comes from Emilio Betti's hermeneutic theory, namely meaning interpretation initiated by Emilio Betti which emphasizes more on the reconstruction of meaning armed with the intellectual horizon of the interpreter (subject) Emilio Betti's hermeneutic theory as a means of interpreting Al-Qur'anic verses. One of them is the Actual Tafsir which is one of the works of Indonesian scholars, namely KH. Mustain Syafi'i, in the writing process, uses online newspapers on an online website (www.bangsaonline.com). So this paper presents how hermeneutical reasoning is conveyed by KH. Mustain Syafi'i in the interpretation of the QS Thaha verses 63-64 which he did on the online website. This research uses literature studies and literature reviews using journals, books, and others according to the research theme as the main data in this research.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an is the revelation of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, which to understand it requires in-depth knowledge from various aspects, for the benefit of human life in everyday life. Therefore, it is necessary to have the Science of Tafsir to understand it and not everyone is able to become a commentator, only special people are able to understand the Qur'an in its entirety. Because human thoughts are different, there are various interpretations of the Qur'an that can be used as guidelines for believing and living. One of the most popular interpretations is the Shi'ite Tafsir by Allamah Thabhathabha'i. He is the author of the commentary of al-Mizan. Some interesting things can be found in this commentary for discussion in the interpretation that is spread not only among Shia Muslims, but also Sunni Muslims. Several factors because this interpretation can also be accepted by Sunni Muslims because the interpretation prioritizes the use of bi al-ma'tsur sources, which means that the interpretation really comes from the Qur'an. The research method used is a research library or library research that dissects the biography of the mufassir, the characteristics and methodology of his interpretation, to what are the advantages and disadvantages of Al-Mizan's interpretation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of terrorism and religiously motivated violence that has spread almost all over the world, especially in the Islamic world, from Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries to Indonesia, has shocked many people today. For example, when the terrorist act that occurred at the United States World Trade Center (WTC) building killed nearly three thousand people, this incident became a discourse on the reemergence of fundamentalism which had faded. As a socio-religious symptom, fundamentalism is very influential on other religions which they consider to have undermined the glories of religion in the past. The fundamental issue that all Muslims must examine is whether they want to live in a world with other people or whether they prefer to live in their own purely Islamic universe, Muslims who turn a blind eye to the events taking place in many worlds actually create home to themselves in exile.
