Abstract

Surah Al-Maidah is the fifth surah in the Qur'an, consisting of 120 verses, and is mostly classified as a Madaniyah surah, though some verses were revealed in Makkah. This surah is known as Al-Maidah because it contains verses discussing the feast requested by the followers of Prophet Isa (verses 112-115). Additionally, it is known by other names such as Al-Uqud (the covenants), Al-Akhyar (the good people), and Al-Munqidzah (the savior). The Asbabun Nuzul (occasions of revelation) of verse 38 of Surah Al-Maidah involves two main stories: the story of a Makhzumiyah woman who stole and the story of Tu’mah bin Ubairiq who stole a coat of armor belonging to Qatadah Ibn Nu’man. This verse was revealed to establish the law of hand amputation for thieves. The contextualization of this punishment in modern times indicates that it has specific criteria, such as the value of the stolen goods and the place from which they were taken. In Indonesia, this punishment has not been implemented despite the majority of the population being Muslim. Discussions about the implementation of hand amputation in Indonesia consider various social and cultural aspects to maintain national unity and cohesion. Asbabun Nuzul dari ayat 38 Surah Al-Maidah melibatkan dua cerita utama: kisah seorang wanita Makhzumiyah yang mencuri dan kisah Tu’mah bin Ubairiq yang mencuri baju perang milik Qatadah Ibn Nu’man. Ayat ini diturunkan untuk menetapkan hukum potong tangan bagi pencuri. Kontekstualisasi hukum potong tangan dalam zaman modern menunjukkan bahwa hukuman ini memiliki kriteria tertentu, seperti kadar barang yang dicuri dan tempat barang tersebut diambil. Di Indonesia, penerapan hukum ini belum dilakukan meskipun mayoritas penduduknya beragama Islam. Diskusi tentang penerapan hukum potong tangan di Indonesia mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek sosial dan budaya untuk menjaga persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa.

Abstract

The Al-Quran's perspective on religious tolerance is part of the attitude of bringing peace, ease, openness of heart, respecting differences without insulting each other and carried out consistently and sustainably. Both in essence and natural teachings, ingrained and rooted. The application of all of this is being able to build unity and oneness between the nation's children in building national and state harmony and obeying the religion they adhere to. The type of research used is library research, using reference sources in the form of books, tafsir books, journals, documents and so on. The Al-Qur'an perspective on religious tolerance is reflected in four categories; First, be smart in increasing religious understanding, second, do not risk your beliefs in the name of religious tolerance. Third, do not spread hate speech by insulting, making fun of, criticizing, or calling someone who is of a different religion, ethnicity or race with bad titles; and fourth, do not force other people to embrace the teachings of the religion they adhere to.

Abstract

This article aims to express the Koran's views on astrophysics, one of the fields of science that studies the properties of physical phenomena and astronomical objects in the Universe. Some of Allah's verses are written and some are implied. The Qur'an is the written verse of Allah while the universe is the written verse of Allah. Because both are verses from Allah, there should be no conflict between the two because they both come from Allah SWT. This effort was carried out using qualitative methods and combining them with thematic interpretation methods. So it was found that the Koran talks a lot about written verses such as the sky, light, sun, moon, stars, black holes, and life outside the earth.

Abstract

Differences in political choices are one of the causes of conflict in the family, which can even reach the stage of abuse and divorce between husband and wife. As happened in Batu Aji, Batam. This article aims to describe and analyze differences in political choices that result in conflict and violence. This article is the result of library research and data analysis from various sources. The result of this writing is about maintaining family resilience and harmony despite differences in political choices, namely by understanding and respecting each other. Then try to consult each other when faced with a problem. The Qur'an as a guide to life for mankind certainly provides many solutions to every problem. Including in this case, the author tries to understand and find ease in interpreting solutions to the content of the Al-Qur'an from the existing tafsir books.

Abstract

Muhammad ibn Idrîs Al-Syâfi’î or popularity known as Imam Al-Syâfi’î is an absolute independent mujtahid who masters various sciences which are the tools of ijtihad which become the basis for a mujtahid in carrying out ijtihad and formulating his own principles of legal research, including the science of interpretation even though he is not popular as a scholar who has works of interpretation. Now a work of commentary appears which collects various interpretations and interpretation of Imam Al-Syâfi’î on some of the letters and verses of the Al-Qur’an excavated from his various works. Namely the book of Tafsîr Al-Imâm Al-Syâfi’î which was collected by Ahmad ibn Mushthafâ Al-Farrân, which was identified as the first academic work to study the interpretation of Imam Al-Syâfi’î as a whole based on the systematics of the letters of the Al-Qur’an; derived from the dissertation work in the doctoral program. This article uses a qualitative research method of literature study which is descriptive-qualitative in nature with data collection techniques using library sources and documentary literature studies using descriptive-interpretative data analysis techniques with content analysis. In addition to introducing the book Tafsîr Al-Imâm Al-Syâfi’î by Ahmad ibn Mushthafâ Al-Farrân, this article also attempts to examine the maudhû’î interpretation methodology of Imam Al-Syâfi’î and his interpretation.

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of the Yasinan tradition at the Al-Mahmud maulid event in providing spiritual peace of mind carried out at the Salafiyah Grogol Blotongan Islamic Boarding School in Salatiga City. This article includes a living Quran study, so the research method uses qualitative methods with several data collection techniques including: observation and interviews, with a phenomenological approach to Alfred Schutz's theory, namely the because of motive and in order to motive. Because of motive Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School does the tradition is in addition to the motive of praying for the spirits of ancestors also aims as self-protection from an empty soul to avoid the supernatural and become a repellent, such as trance through the maulid Al-Mahmud event. The in order to motive of the tradition is the manifestation of mutual cooperation, social solidarity, sympathy and empathy is also another side of the Yasinan tradition at the Maulid Al-Mahmud event. In fact, the recitation of Maulid Al-Mahmud is also a form of praise, respect and love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad. This is a collaboration between wirid in the form of sholawat and the Quran, not just a warning or guidance, but also as a person's foundation from an empty heart (Peace of mind).

Abstract

This research discusses the emancipatory interpretation by Aisha bint Abu Bakar of Qur'anic verses relating to women and orphans. The pre-Islamic period is described as a dark time for women and orphans, where they were part of a marginalised group with low social status and limited access to economic opportunities. The analysis in this study is descriptive-analytical by emphasising Aisyah's interpretation of Qur'anic verses related to women and orphans issues. The approach used is a social and historical approach to understand the context and impact of these interpretations. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with content analysis type. The results showed that Aisha bint Abu Bakar made a major contribution in the interpretation of verses about women and orphans with an emancipatory nature, namely liberation from oppression and dependence. Her interpretation of the verses shows special attention to social issues and the rights of women and orphans, as reflected in QS. Al-Baqarah: 220, 222; An-Nisa: 3, 6, 127, 128; Al-Maidah: 6; and Al-Mujadilah: 1. The overall source of interpretation used by Aisyah is bil ma'tsur.

Abstract

This research is motivated by various perspectives on the permissibility of women working, usually based on the interpretation of religious texts. The focus of this study is the analysis of relevant Qur'anic verses, such as Surah Al-Ahzab verse 33 and Surah An-Nahl verse 97, which indicate that Islam equally rewards righteous deeds by both men and women, particularly as interpreted in Tafsir al-Misbah and the works of contemporary scholars like Quraish Shihab. This study aims to analyze and interpret the Qur'anic exegesis regarding career women by the exegete Quraish Shihab in his tafsir Al-Misbah. The research design is a literature study, analyzing Quraish Shihab's interpretation of career women in his tafsir Al-Misbah. This research is also supported by secondary data from various documents, books, scriptures, and related research on the topic. The data collection method is documentation. The results of this study indicate that women can actively participate in various aspects of their lives without violating Islamic rules. Therefore, the role of women in social and economic development is recognized and considered part of their devotion to Allah Swt

Abstract

Wind is a natural phenomenon involving the movement of air caused by differences in atmospheric pressure. In the interpretation of Al-Jawahir by Tanthawi Jauhari, wind is understood as a sign of Allah's greatness, with significant biological and ecological functions, such as facilitating rainfall, plant pollination, and energy distribution. This study employs a literature review method with a qualitative approach to analyze the functions of wind based on Qur'anic verses and scientific exegesis. The findings reveal that the Qur'an uses the term "al-riyāh" for mercy and "al-rīh" for punishment, highlighting its multifaceted role in supporting ecosystem balance and sustaining life. Tanthawi Jauhari's scientific interpretation emphasizes the importance of wind in natural processes such as bird migration, irrigation, and pollination, demonstrating the harmonious relationship between Qur'anic teachings and modern science. This article underscores that wind not only serves as a blessing for humanity but also as a reminder of Allah's sovereignty in governing the universe.

Abstract

Rain is an important natural phenomenon in human life on earth. Allah created everything in the heavens and the earth and between them with His majesty and glory. One sign of His power is rain which can benefit the lives of living creatures on earth. This paper examines the use of rain in the Al-Qur'an. This research uses qualitative methods with the type of literature study. Data will be obtained through reviewing information and knowledge from various relevant literature and references as well as analyzing interpretations of Al-Qur'an verses. How rain is a natural phenomenon that is essential for human life, where water is one of the great precious blessings from God.  The research results show that the Al-Qur'an provide information about the use of rain in various aspects of human life, such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and in everyday life.
