Abstract

The development of information technology and social media, particularly TikTok, has become an inseparable part of students' daily lives, including in the context of education. Social media has a dual influence on students, both in terms of enhancing academic achievement and shaping moral character. TikTok can be utilized as a creative and engaging learning medium, especially in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak. This study aims to examine the influence of TikTok social media usage on improving academic performance in the Aqidah Akhlak subject among students in grades I–VI at MI Al Hijrah Bontang for the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach with a total of 63 student respondents. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, correlation coefficients, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing. The results show a very strong relationship between TikTok usage and students’ academic achievement in Aqidah Akhlak, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.845. The determination test indicates that the influence of variable X on variable Y is 71%, while the remaining 29% is influenced by other factors. Hypothesis testing shows that the calculated t-value (12.36) is greater than the critical t-value (1.99962), thus H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of TikTok social media has a significant influence on improving academic performance in the Aqidah Akhlak subject for students at MI Al Hijrah Bontang in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Creative, Innovative, Brilliant, Active, Religious (KIBAR) method on improving the reading and writing skills of the Qur'an of grade V students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bontang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The background of this study is the low reading and writing skills of some students, so a learning method is needed that can improve their motivation and skills as a whole. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The subjects of this study were all 47 grade V students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bontang, so this study is a population study. Data collection techniques were carried out by conducting closed questionnaire observation interviews and documentation to explore students' perceptions and learning outcomes related to the application of the KIBAR method which has been tested using validity and reliability tests to ensure that the instruments used are feasible and consistent in measuring research variables. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics are used to describe general data trends, while inferential statistics use the T test and F test with the help of the SPSS program. The results of the analysis showed a significance value of 0.004 in the T test and F test, which means that there is a significant influence of the KIBAR method on improving students' reading and writing of the Qur'an, because the significance value is less than 0.05.

Abstract

In the learning process in class, it was found that some students paid less attention to the teacher's explanation, did not take notes on the lesson material, daydreamed and fell asleep during the learning process. This study aims to determine the application of the Jigsaw cooperative method in increasing interest in learning the Morals material in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject of class VII students of SMP Ar-Riyadh Bontang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This type of research is qualitative research, descriptive approach. The research data are primary and secondary data collected using observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the study showed that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative method was able to significantly increase students' interest in learning. Students become more active, responsible, and motivated in following the lesson. The Jigsaw method makes students feel they have an important role in their study group. In the learning process, students work together, discuss, and convey material to their group members. This makes the learning atmosphere more enjoyable and meaningful. The increase in interest in learning can be seen from several indicators, including: increasing student interest in morals material, increasing student attention in the learning process, and the emergence of motivation from within students to learn and understand the material in more depth. In addition, social interaction between students also improved due to cooperation in groups. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw cooperative method is effective in increasing students' interest in learning Islamic Religious Education subjects, especially moral material. It is hoped that this method can be an alternative learning strategy that is fun and interactive in schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the honest character of fourth-grade students at SDN 004 Bontang Selatan. This research aims to describe (1) the role of PAI teachers in enhancing the honest character of fourth-grade students at SDN 004 Bontang Selatan, and (2) the efforts to shape the character of fourth-grade students at SDN 004 Bontang Selatan. This research is a qualitative study with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this research include data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The subjects of this research were the PAI teacher and fourth-grade students at SDN 004 Bontang Selatan. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers have a strategic role as educators, mentors, role models, and facilitators in shaping the students’ honest character. Teachers instill the value of honesty through direct teaching, habituation, providing real examples, and giving positive reinforcement to students who demonstrate honest behavior. Additionally, school programs such as Quran recitation activities, Dhuha prayers, and flag ceremony speeches support the internalization of honesty values. The obstacles in shaping the honest character include the lack of parental support and external environmental influences. However, through collaboration between teachers, parents, and the school, the formation of honest character can be optimized.

Abstract

This thesis discusses about The Efforts of Madrasah Teachers in Overcoming Learning Difficulties of Quranic Tajweed for Takhassus Class Students at MI Ar-Riyadh Bontang. The research aims to describe (1) The Efforts of Madrasah Teachers in Overcoming Learning Difficulties of Quranic Tajweed for Takhassus Class Students at MI Ar-Riyadh Bontang, and (2) Overcoming Learning Difficulties of Quranic Tajweed for Takhassus Class Students at MI Ar-Riyadh Bontang. This type of research is qualitative with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The subject of this research is the madrasah teacher at MI Ar-Riyadh Bontang. The results of this study indicate that: the efforts of madrasah teachers are (1) Forming a tahsin program, (2) Providing motivation, (3) Providing guidance, (4) Students practicing in front of friends, (5) Involving other parties such as regular class teachers and parents. To overcome learning difficulties in Quranic Tajweed for Takhassus class students, the madrasah teachers carry out (1) Teachers prepare a 3-month tahsin program at the beginning of the academic year, (2) Providing additional time for students who have difficulties in learning Quranic Tajweed, (3) Teachers use the talaqqi method and repetition, (4) Teachers provide special attention to Takhassus class students who have difficulties in learning Quranic Tajweed and give rewards to students who are able to practice learning Quranic Tajweed in reading the Quran. The Efforts of Madrasah Teachers in Overcoming Learning Difficulties of Quranic Tajweed have a very positive impact on improving the quality of Quranic Tajweed reading for Takhassus Class Students at MI Ar-Riyadh Bontang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student satisfaction at STIT Syamsul Ma’arif Bontang regarding the implementation of the thesis examination in 2025. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students who had participated in the thesis examination. The results show that the majority of students were very satisfied with various aspects of the examination. Information regarding the examination schedule was delivered clearly and on time (81.3%), the registration process was easy to understand and access (65%), the examination was held according to the scheduled time (100%), and the examination room facilities were considered very satisfactory (78.1%). In addition, supervision by academic advisors before the examination was very helpful (71%), and the overall service provided during the thesis examination at STIT Syamsul Ma’arif Bontang was rated as very satisfactory (71.9%).

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of Canva-based instructional media in enhancing learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the study are seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Bontang during the 2024/2025 academic year. Datawere collected through observation, interviews, self-assessment, and documentation. The data analysis process involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that the use of the Canva application as a learning medium has a positive impact on improving student performance in IRE. This media helps present instructional material in a more engaging and accessible way for students. The improvement can be seen in students' conceptual understanding, the strengthening of faith-based values, moral development, the relevance of content to everyday life, the enhancement of critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Therefore, Canva can be considered an effective alternative learning tool to support the optimal delivery of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This article discusses the strategies employed by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers to instill the values of politeness in second-grade students at SDN 003 Bontang Barat. The study is motivated by the importance of shaping character from an early age, especially as politeness is increasingly diminishing in students’ social interactions. The aim of this research is to describe the strategies used by PAI teachers in cultivating polite behavior among second-grade students at SDN 003 Bontang Barat. The findings indicate that the strategies include: (1) being a role model in polite behavior, (2) habituating greetings, prayers, and polite expressions in daily activities, (3) using storytelling and exemplary figures, (4) giving motivation and direct advice to students, and (5) utilizing the school environment as a medium for habituation. The study also found that the strategies implemented by PAI teachers are effective in instilling politeness values, particularly when supported by the school environment and parental involvement. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on lower-grade students (second grade) and the application of concrete, comprehensive, and contextually appropriate strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of student satisfaction with academic and non-academic services at STIT Syamsul Ma’arif Bontang. The research employed a quantitative approach using a questionnaire distributed to 100 students from semesters 2, 4, 6, and 8. The findings indicate that, in general, students are fairly satisfied with academic services such as the learning process, academic advising, and the availability of lecturers. However, non-academic services such as campus facilities, administrative services, and student activities still require significant improvement. This study provides recommendations for enhancing service quality based on student needs.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Usul Fiqh as an epistemological instrument in mitigating the spread of radicalism in the campus environment. Usul Fiqh, as a methodology for understanding religious texts systematically, logically, and contextually, has great potential in fortifying students from textualist and extreme religious understandings. Amid the increasing symptoms of religion-based radicalism among young intellectuals, understanding the principles of Usul Fiqh such as maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, sadd al-dzarī‘ah, and istihsān is crucial for instilling a moderate, inclusive, and rational way of thinking. This article uses a qualitative approach with literature study and normative analysis to describe how the integration of Usul Fiqh in the curriculum and academic activities can strengthen students' resilience against radical ideology. The article's findings indicate that strengthening the understanding of Usul Fiqh not only improves critical religious literacy but also serves as an effective ideological tool in fostering tolerance, peace, and coexistence amidst campus diversity. Thus, Usul Fiqh plays a strategic role as an academic and theological bulwark against the threat of religious radicalism.
