Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured light jogging program in improving sleep quality among students, as measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). A qualitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. A total of 30 students with PSQI scores >5 were selected purposively. The intervention consisted of 16 jogging sessions over eight weeks at light to moderate intensity. Sleep quality was measured using the PSQI before and after the intervention, and data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests. The results showed a significant reduction in PSQI scores from a mean of 11.29 to 6.35 (p < 0.001). The proportion of students with poor sleep decreased from 83.3% to 26.7%, while those with sufficient and good sleep quality increased accordingly. The structured light jogging program effectively improved sleep quality among university students. This study contributes to the development of non-pharmacological, practical, and low-cost interventions for student health. Further research should explore other exercise types and consider lifestyle and psychological variables.

Abstract

This study examines the structural relationships among halal perception, food safety, perceived product quality, and purchase decisions for halal food products, with food safety positioned as a mediating construct. Grounded in consumer perception theory and the halal–thayyib framework, the study conceptualizes halal as a credence attribute that shapes perceived safety and, subsequently, quality evaluation. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among Muslim university students in Indonesia and Malaysia, and the data were analyzed using covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) to test the proposed causal model. The results indicate that halal perception significantly influences perceived food safety, which in turn positively affects perceived quality and purchase decisions. However, halal perception does not directly influence perceived quality, suggesting that consumers interpret halal primarily through a safety lens rather than as an intrinsic quality cue. These findings highlight the mediating role of food safety in translating religious compliance into market-relevant product evaluations. The study contributes theoretically by clarifying the perceptual mechanism linking halal attributes to consumer decisions and offers practical implications for halal certification bodies and food producers in strengthening safety communication strategies.

Abstract

Purpose this study aims to analyze the strategic role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in the development of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) to increase student learning enthusiasm, with a case study in madrasas in Surabaya. Method This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals and teachers, observation of classroom activities, and documentation studies of developed teaching modules. Findings the results show that HRM practices focusing on continuous competency development and teacher autonomy are key to the successful implementation of the independent curriculum. Curricula developed contextually and through differentiation have been proven to increase active student engagement, reduce boredom, and enhance intrinsic learning motivation. Implications school management must transform from administrative patterns to instructional leadership that supports teacher creativity. Curriculum success is not determined by formal documents but by the readiness of HR in executing student-centered learning.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines how differentiated instruction, physical fitness, and learning motivation independently and interactively influence learning outcomes in physical education (PE). Drawing on peer-reviewed national and international studies published between 2018 and 2025, the review synthesizes evidence related to pedagogical practices, students’ physical readiness, and motivational processes in school-based PE. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction consistently enhances engagement and learning readiness, although its direct effects on psychomotor outcomes, particularly at the secondary level, remain limited. Physical fitness shows a stable association with motor performance and participation, while autonomous motivation supports sustained effort and persistence. However, most studies examine these factors in isolation, offering limited insight into their combined effects. This review highlights a clear gap in integrative research and underscores the need for comprehensive instructional models that align pedagogical, physiological, and motivational dimensions to improve PE learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews literature on integrating character values into junior high school Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) modules, addressing gaps between policy ideals and classroom practice. Using studies published from 2018 to 2025 across Google Scholar, ERIC, and ScienceDirect, empirical research was selected based on relevance, methodological rigor, and focus on character-based learning. Findings indicate that modules combining direct, indirect, and reflective approaches effectively foster cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship, particularly when supported by structured activities, guided reflection, and valid assessment tools. Core components such as integrated objectives, value-based activities, reflection sheets, and teacher guides enhance value internalization. This review highlights the need for contextually adapted modules, systematic evaluation, and teacher facilitation, providing an evidence-based foundation for designing PJOK modules that promote holistic character development in junior high school students.

Abstract

Floor gymnastics learning at SMAN 1 Siberut Barat Daya faces several challenges, including low student skill levels, limited facilities, and the constraints of a 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) school context. This study aimed to develop and examine the feasibility and effectiveness of a Kurikulum Merdeka–based floor gymnastics teaching module. The study employed a research and development approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were 47 Grade X students. Data were collected through gymnastics skill tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests. The results showed significant improvements in students’ performance on forward roll, backward roll, and candlestick movements after using the module (p < 0.001). Expert validation and student responses indicated that the module is valid, practical, and suitable for use in schools with limited resources.

Abstract

This literature review examines how self-perception, learning environment, and learning motivation influence Physical Education outcomes in elementary schools. Despite the recognized importance of Physical Education for developing motor skills and promoting lifelong physical activity, variations in student achievement remain poorly understood. Using PRISMA guidelines, fifteen empirical studies published between 2018 and 2025 were selected from international and national databases and analyzed through qualitative thematic synthesis. Findings indicate that positive self-perception enhances students’ engagement and motor performance, supportive learning environments foster autonomy and competence, and intrinsic motivation mediates the translation of psychological and environmental factors into measurable outcomes. However, most studies were cross-sectional, limiting causal inferences, and contextual variations suggest that cultural and pedagogical factors influence these relationships. The review highlights the need for integrated instructional strategies that promote confidence, autonomy, and motivation simultaneously, and recommends longitudinal and experimental studies to clarify causal pathways and optimize evidence-based practices in elementary Physical Education.

Abstract

This study examined the effects of paired and independent overhead passing training methods in relation to leg muscle strength on the overhead passing ability of school-level volleyball athletes. A quantitative experimental design with a 2×2 factorial pretest–posttest approach was employed. Twenty-four students participating in a volleyball extracurricular program were classified into high and low leg muscle strength groups and assigned to paired or independent training. Overhead passing ability was measured before and after the intervention using a standardized skill test. Data were analyzed using paired samples t-tests to identify within-group changes. The results showed a significant improvement only in athletes with high leg muscle strength who received paired training (p < 0.05), while other groups showed no significant changes. These findings suggest that overhead passing improvement depends on the interaction between training method and physical readiness. Further studies with larger samples and factorial analyses are recommended.
