Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to know whether agency costs incurred in companies listed on IDX 30 are of high or low value? (2) The aim is to investigate how agency costs are affected by different corporate governance mechanisms, specifically the size of the board of directors, the size of the board of commissioners, and the size of the audit committee. This research employed quantitative methods through a comprehensive review of existing literature and the subsequent formulation of hypotheses. In this study, agency costs are proxied by expense comparison and the capital utilization comparison. The results show most of companies listed on IDX 30 have low agency cost. The expense comparison indicates that the size of the board of directors has a notable impact on reducing agency costs. On the other hand, the capital utilization comparison shows that the size of the board of commissioners has a significant influence in reducing agency costs. However, the size of the audit committee does not seem to have a substantial effect on agency costs. Low agency costs that occur indicate low agency conflicts that occur - so this firm can list on IDX 30.

Abstract

This research examines how educational facilities impact school participation, student activities, and educational outcomes in Indonesia, highlighting the urgent need for improved infrastructure. Using 2023 data from the Central Statistics Agency, this study analyzes various indicators such as the number of schools, classroom conditions, sanitation, teacher numbers, and educational outcomes across different regions. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is employed to test the relationships among these variables. The findings show that while educational facilities are reliable and valid, enhancing them alone does not guarantee better educational outcomes or increased school enrollment. Other factors like teaching quality and socioeconomic support are crucial. Improved facilities do, however, boost student engagement in extracurricular activities, which is essential for skill development and motivation. The study reveals a positive correlation between school participation and educational outcomes, emphasizing the need for strategies to improve attendance and engagement. It highlights the importance of a holistic educational approach that integrates both academic and extracurricular activities. Policymakers and educators should adopt comprehensive strategies, including improving facilities, teaching quality, and providing socioeconomic support, to maximize educational outcomes and ensure long-term success.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the causes of the decline in stock prices during the COVID-19 pandemic, which can be analyzed based on intellectual capital, growth opportunity, and dividend policies. Therefore, this research focuses on how these variables can influence company value of manufacturing companies within the food and beverage sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2022. Data from 10 companies were analyzed. The simultaneous analysis shows that intellectual capital, growth opportunities, and dividend policy collectively impact company value. In this study, the value of F-statistic is 0.001687, meaning there is a very small probability (less than 0.17%) that the observed results happened by chance. The coefficient of determination indicates that these three variables explain 23.12% of the variation in company value during the study period, while 76.88% is influenced by unexamined factors. Upon closer examination (partial analysis), it is evident that only growth opportunities significantly contribute positively to company value. In contrast, intellectual capital does not demonstrate a positive effect, and dividend policy does not exert a significant negative influence on manufacturing companies in the food and beverage sub-sector listed on the indonesia stock exchange from 2018 to 2022.
