Abstract

The media not only presents the text written in the script that is distributed throughout its network, but also highlights dramatic elements that serve as "spices" to manipulate the audience's psychology. In reporting the Ferdy Sambo case, one of the strategies used is the agenda setting technique. Through this method, news is structured to provide a specific mental reaction to the audience's interaction with the media. In the initial news of the uproar over an incident, the important points that need to be highlighted for the audience's consumption are emphasized. This is followed by related news that is considered to be very important in filling the audience's agenda. Based on the media's techniques used, this study aims to determine how the media manipulates the audience's psychology. To obtain appropriate results, this research uses a descriptive qualitative method that is directed to obtain clear information based on high credibility online media platforms. The results of the study show that three online media, namely kompas.com, detik.com, and tribunnews.com, apply the agenda setting technique to shape the public agenda by emphasizing the distributed script.

Abstract

Business process improvement is a well-known technique for organizations to identify processes that enhance business performance. This study aims to analyze and improve business processes in the company's principal operational processes that are directly related to controlling service requests for assistance with traffic problems on the toll road (Command Center), specifically in communication and handling requests for assistance and complaints from users of one of the toll road operators in Indonesia. Research is conducted by identifying existing processes, the underlying causes of existing problems, and analyzing business processes using the Business Process Improvement methodology and the Bizagi Modeler with Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN). An improvement within this approach is thus examined in a particular scenario. The as-is and to-be processes are measured using a technique of improvement design called the ESIA approach, consisting of four steps: eliminate, simplify, integrate, and automate. The result of the integration of Command Center services can decrease the response time for assisting requests from toll road users and enhance cost-effectiveness, improving customer satisfaction and the overall quality of toll road service.

Abstract

Mastery of computers and information systems in international relations is one of the elements of a country's new power. In the context of cyber warfare, Russia and the United States are trying to modernize their technology to secure their countries in the event of an attack from the opposing party. This research aims to analyze the space technology competition carried out by two major countries, namely Russia and the United States, to achieve Great Power status in the international world. This research focuses on the technological achievements of Russia and the United States in the field of space and their implementation in the form of cyber warfare. A qualitative case study is the research method chosen by the researcher. The research stages used by researchers are divided into data collection stages and data reduction, and the next stage is that researchers conduct analysis using data reduction techniques, namely summarizing, selecting, and focusing on the things needed in this study. The results of this study show that national security priorities are number one, and especially defense priorities for the United States are no longer terrorism but great power competition. NATO is an alliance or political tool that the US relies on to achieve great power.

Abstract

The province of Jambi has significant potential in developing rural tourism, with various unique destinations rich in culture and natural beauty that attract visitors. However, the challenge lies in maintaining and increasing tourist visits and encouraging them to recommend these destinations to others. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing tourist satisfaction in realizing repeat visits and recommending rural tourism destinations in Jambi Province. This research employs a survey method by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 180 tourists who have visited rural tourism destinations in Jambi. The collected data is analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques with the help of SmartPLS to determine the impact of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results show that the destination image does not significantly influence tourists' intentions to recommend the destination to others but can enhance tourist satisfaction. In contrast, the perceived value by tourists positively impacts the intention to recommend but does not affect satisfaction or repeat visits. The uniqueness of the destination can improve satisfaction and attract repeat visits, although it does not directly influence recommendations. Tourist satisfaction itself does not significantly impact recommendations, and repeat visits do not affect the intention to recommend the destination. The implication of this study is that rural tourism destination managers in Jambi Province need to focus on creating unique experiences and enhancing the perceived value for tourists to improve the appeal and sustainability of the destination.

Abstract

Learning media is a crucial component in supporting the educational process. However, the practical learning process for the database subject at SMK Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang has not fully prepared students to be independent and work-ready. This study aims to develop a product-based practicum module for the database subject, which is expected to enhance students' creativity, independence, and learning outcomes. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Validation was conducted by media and content experts, followed by field trials involving 23 students. The research results show that the developed product-based e-module is valid with an average score of 0.85. The practicality of the module was rated very high, with a Reproducibility Coefficient of 0.98 and a Scalability Coefficient of 0.95. Its effectiveness was demonstrated through an improvement in student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain score of 0.73, categorized as high. Based on these findings, the module is considered valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes while promoting creativity and independence in database learning.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted employment markets globally and nationally, posing unique challenges to Indonesia’s labor force. In response, the Indonesian government launched the Pre-Employment Card (PEC) as part of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) initiative to mitigate rising unemployment and facilitate transitions to sustainable employment.  This study examines the effectiveness of Indonesia’s Pre-Employment Card (PEC) policy in facilitating employment transitions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The effectiveness of the PEC policy is measured through key indicators such as labor absorption rates, reduction in unemployment, and the likelihood of securing formal employment over informal alternatives. This study introduces a novel perspective by employing a dual labor market approach, which highlights the distinct roles and interactions of formal and informal sectors in Indonesia’s labor market. Specifically, it examines how the presence of informality affects job transitions and the effectiveness of the Pre-Employment Card (PEC) policy in facilitating movement toward formal sector employment.  To analyze employment transitions, this research employs a multinomial logit model, selected for its ability to estimate the probability of multiple, categorical employment outcomes, making it especially suitable for evaluating the diverse pathways individuals might take from unemployment to formal or informal employment, and from informal to formal sectors. The findings reveal that the PEC policy significantly increases the likelihood of unemployed individuals securing formal sector jobs rather than informal ones, with participants who completed the initial PEC training showing a 30% higher probability of transitioning to formal employment compared to those without PEC support. Additionally, the policy supports transitions within the labor market by facilitating movement from the informal to the formal sector, with an observed 25% increase in formal employment uptake among informal workers participating in PEC. These results underscore the PEC policy’s effectiveness in promoting formal employment pathways, contributing to workforce stabilization amid economic recovery efforts.

Abstract

Trust is an essential element in the realm of investment. This study examines two legal issues in Bancassurance's PAYDI marketing. This study employs normative legal research, a systematic scientific approach used to address legal concerns that result from regulation. The utilized data consists of secondary sources, including statutes, judicial rulings, legal doctrines, and scholarly viewpoints. This study suggests that it is important to examine the teleological contractual relationship between the parties involved, particularly those that place importance on the social and moral components of the contract's goal. The collaboration between PAYDI and life insurance firms in implementing bancassurance marketing strategies with distribution business models is essential.
