Abstract

With the increasing complexity of business today, competition in the e-commerce sector is becoming increasingly fierce. One major challenge faced by businesses is declining sales trends and difficulties in building consumer trust on e-commerce platforms. To address this, companies leverage digital marketing strategies, including Shopee Live, to expand their marketing reach and strengthen consumer engagement. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital marketing on consumer trust and purchasing decisions. Conducted in Bandung, Indonesia, the research employed a quantitative approach involving 170 respondents aged 17 to over 35 years, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale (1-5) and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 17.0. The results reveal a significant positive effect of digital marketing on consumer trust, with a coefficient value of 0.295, as well as a significant positive effect on purchasing decisions, with a coefficient value of 0.226. Abstract

Abstract

Even more challenging for companies is keeping their financial statements honest in the face of increasingly complicated rules and intense competition in their respective industries. The temptation for management to resort to earnings management tactics to achieve short-term financial goals can be strong in such a scenario. This research project will look at infrastructure, transportation, and logistics-related IDX-listed firms from 2018 to 2022. It will look for patterns in earnings management as an influence of financial distress, information asymmetry, and CEO characteristics like narcissism and power. We will utilize internal control as a moderator to examine the relationship between earnings management and financial distress. Over the course of 5 years, 59 enterprises were selected via purposive samplingand 295 observations were obtained. For this research, we used panel data regression. The financial distress affected earnings management, but information asymmetry, CEO power, and CEO narcissism had no effect. Internal control may also moderate the association between earnings management and financial distress, according to the findings

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah plays a crucial role in shaping future generations, but improving teacher performance remains a significant challenge. The application of Total Quality Management (TQM) and agile leadership is a strategic approach to enhancing educational quality. TQM emphasizes continuous improvement, while agile leadership promotes flexibility and adaptation in response to educational changes. This study explores how TQM and agile leadership work together to improve teacher performance in State Aliyah Madrasahs (MAN) in South Kalimantan. The goal is to analyze the impact of TQM and agile leadership on teacher performance and examine the role of TQM in strengthening the relationship between leadership agility and teacher performance. Using a mixed methods approach, the study examines the interplay of TQM, leadership agility, teacher training, and performance in 13 South Kalimantan MAN schools. A sample of 303 teachers participated, with quantitative data analyzed using PLS-SEM and qualitative data from interviews and focus group discussions. The qualitative data helped validate and enrich the quantitative findings, providing deeper insights into the factors affecting teacher performance. The results show that both leadership agility and teacher training positively influence teacher performance, with TQM moderating the relationship between leadership agility and performance. To improve teacher performance, steps such as fostering a culture of continuous improvement through workshops and feedback, integrating TQM principles into training, and promoting agile leadership focused on collaboration and problem-solving can create a supportive environment that enhances teacher performance and student outcomes.

Abstract

Social adaptation is an important process for individuals or groups in adjusting to new circumstances, including the adoption of technological innovations. The implementation of E-Money as a mandatory payment method in Transmetro Pekanbaru is a significant change, requiring passengers to adapt to this new system. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence passenger adaptation to E-Money using a descriptive quantitative approach. This research was conducted in Pekanbaru, with data collected through interviews with a sample of 100 respondents, which was determined from a population of 34,918 passengers using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 10%. Data analysis was conducted to identify demographic and economic factors that influence adaptation. The results show that age, gender, occupation, income, education, private vehicle ownership, and E-Money ownership significantly affect the level of passenger adaptation to E-Money. Users who are younger, female, more educated, self-employed, or students, and who already possess E-Money tools such as Brizzi or QRIS tend to adapt more quickly. A significant finding is the dominance of QRIS and the combination of Brizzi and QRIS as preferred payment methods. However, the intensity of Transmetro usage does not significantly affect the adaptation rate. These findings suggest that strategies targeted at increasing E-Money adoption should take these demographic and socio-economic factors into account, especially by focusing on providing an accessible and user-friendly payment system for less adapted passenger groups. This study contributes to understanding the social adaptation process in the context of digital payment innovations and provides practical implications for policy makers and Transmetro Pekanbaru management in improving the effectiveness of E-Money implementation.

Abstract

Online lending services in Indonesia have grown rapidly in recent years, but this has also brought great challenges regarding the protection of consumers' personal data. Personal data security has become a very important issue, given the many cases of data breaches that can harm consumers. This study aims to analyse the role of personal data security in the fulfilment of consumer rights in online lending services, as well as to evaluate the existing legal certainty related to consumer personal data protection. The method used in this research is empirical juridical, with an analytical approach to relevant legal regulations and case studies regarding data breaches in online lending services. The results show that although there are regulations governing personal data protection, implementation is still weak and faces challenges such as a lack of consumer digital literacy and supervision of illegal service providers. The conclusion of this study is that legal certainty is needed to protect consumer rights, and that stricter regulations and better supervision of online loan service providers are essential. The implications of this research are the need for strengthened regulation, increased supervision by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and other relevant institutions, and education to consumers on their rights regarding personal data.

Abstract

Corruption is one of the main challenges hindering development and welfare in Indonesia, particularly at the regional government level. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of anti-corruption programs in provincial governments in Indonesia, focusing on the influence of fiscal decentralization, accountability, and regional financial performance on the level of corruption. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data obtained from regional financial reports and audit results from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) on provincial governments in Indonesia during the period 2018-2022. The results indicate that fiscal decentralization has a significant impact on the level of corruption, while the variables of accountability and regional financial performance, as measured through audit opinions and regional investment, do not show a significant impact on corruption levels. These findings suggest that although there are financial oversight mechanisms in place, other factors such as transparency, stricter supervision, and public participation in budget management need to be strengthened to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption programs at the provincial level. The study recommends the need for a more comprehensive approach to tackling corruption, including governance reforms and strengthening internal controls in each region.

Abstract

Abstract

The discourse on Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has increasingly become a focal point in the contemporary business landscape. State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), as pivotal contributors to the Asian economy, continue to enhance their corporate governance frameworks to meet global standards. However, over the past few years, several Indonesian SOEs have been embroiled in corruption scandals and governance lapses, attracting substantial media scrutiny. This study investigates the impact of Corporate Scandals, Board Nationality, Industry Specialization, and CEO Narcissism on the enhancement of GCG Scores in Indonesian SOEs during the 2021-2022 period. Employing a quantitative research approach, secondary data were extracted from the annual reports of 143 Indonesian SOEs. Through purposive judgment sampling, 79 firms were selected for analysis. The study utilized multiple linear regression analysis via SPSS version 25 to examine the relationships among the variables. The empirical findings reveal that Corporate Scandals, Board Nationality, Industry Specialization, and CEO Narcissism collectively exert a significant influence on GCG Score improvements. Individually, each variable also demonstrates a substantial impact on governance enhancement. Notably, these four factors account for 67% of the variations in GCG Scores, suggesting that the remaining 33% is attributable to other determinants beyond the scope of this study. These results underscore the critical need for Indonesian SOEs to strengthen their governance mechanisms, mitigate unethical corporate practices, and cultivate leadership attributes that align with sound governance principles. Future research should explore additional variables influencing GCG performance to provide a more comprehensive understanding of corporate governance dynamics in emerging markets.
