Abstract

The rapid expansion of social enterprises in Indonesia reflects a growing response to pressing socio-economic challenges. Existing research on Indonesian social entrepreneurship often examines these issues in isolation, lacking a comprehensive, integrative perspective. This study addresses this gap by conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 94 Scopus- and Google Scholar-indexed research articles, analyzed using Publish or Perish 8 and Covidence software. The findings reveal six interdependent dimensions shaping Indonesia’s social entrepreneurship ecosystem: (1) organizational and policy frameworks, (2) business models and financial sustainability, (3) social and economic impact, (4) education and innovation, (5) religiosity and cultural influences, and (6) gender dynamics. Unlike prior studies that focus predominantly on descriptive narratives and case studies, this research provides a holistic, critical analysis, highlighting persistent gaps in policy implementation, financial accessibility, and cross-sector collaboration. The study also situates Indonesia’s social entrepreneurship landscape within a broader global context, identifying key disparities and potential areas for alignment with international best practices. The findings carry significant implications: for academics, the study establishes a foundation for future research on policy interventions and sustainable business models; for policymakers, it underscores the urgency of developing structured financial support mechanisms and regulatory frameworks; and for social entrepreneurs, it provides a strategic roadmap to navigate challenges, leverage opportunities, and enhance impact. Ultimately, this research underscores the critical need for targeted interventions to strengthen Indonesia’s social enterprise sector. Without a concerted effort to address systemic constraints, the sector risks stagnation, limiting its ability to drive inclusive economic growth and social transformation.

Abstract

Villages are public sector organizations, so accountability is an important principle that must be reflected in their financial management. The accountability in managing the village funds is a demand for the local government as the village funds manager, as an implementation of the constitution number 6, 2014. The existed influence factor of the accountability in managing the village funds are internal control systems and accessibility. Increasing accountability in village fund management, the potential for fraud in fund management can be reduced. This research aim to determine the effect of internal control systems and accessibility of financial reports on accountability of village financial management, and the effect of accountability of village financial management on the potential for fraud in village financial management. The primary data used in this research were acquired by administering questionnaires to respondents. A total of 115 questionnaires were distributed directly to 29 villages in Samosir Regency. Rate of returned and completed questionnaire is 100%. Data analysis was carried out using the PLS with WarpPLS 7.0 software. The research results supported all hypotheses and found that; 1. internal control systems positively significant affect the accountability of village financial management, 2. accessibility of financial reports positively significant affect the accountability of village financial management and 3. The accountability of village financial management negatively significant affects the potential for fraud in village financial management. The research results indicated that The Internal Control System has a greater influence than accessibility. This in turn implies that the public would consider that village financial management is accountable if its financial report is prepared in accordance with the applicable standards and easily accessed. In addition, the potential for fraud will be reduced with increasing accountability in village financial management. These results expect the village government to improve internal control and accessibility in managing village funds.

Abstract

The Design and Build (D&B) method has become a dominant approach in Indonesian government construction projects due to its potential to accelerate project timelines by integrating design and implementation. However, significant delays persist—especially in Jakarta indicating that technical improvements alone are insufficient. This study investigates how managerial behavior and work culture influence the timeliness of government D&B construction projects. Using a quantitative approach, surveys were conducted among project managers, construction consultants, and procurement officials involved in D&B projects in Jakarta between 2015 and 2018. Key variables examined include leadership style, decision-making agility, work ethic, communication effectiveness, problem-solving ability, and technical competence. Regression analysis revealed that leadership and work ethic positively affect timely completion. Surprisingly, communication effectiveness and agile decision-making were associated with delays, likely due to bureaucratic complexity and unstable project environments. Technical and problem-solving skills proved insufficient without strong behavioral support. The findings underscore the importance of behavioral competencies particularly leadership and discipline in project performance. The study also noted inconsistencies in instrument reliability, suggesting refinement for future use. Recommendations include revising recruitment standards to emphasize behavioral attributes and enhancing methodological rigor in similar research. A shift in focus from purely technical to integrated behavioral competencies is essential for improving public sector project outcomes.

Abstract

Climate change and increasing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions demand technological innovations that can support effective climate change mitigation. One of the rapidly growing solutions is the use of nano-adsorbents in carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, which is able to improve CO₂ absorption efficiency through high surface area and adjustable porosity. However, although the effectiveness of this technology has been proven in various studies, its integration in engineering education is still limited, so aspiring engineers lack sufficient understanding and skills in implementing this solution in the industrial world. This research aims to develop a systematic educational strategy to integrate nano-adsorbent learning in the engineering curriculum, by emphasizing an experiential approach and industry collaboration. The study used a blended method, which combined qualitative insights from interviews and focus groups with quantitative data from surveys of students and engineering faculty. The results showed that 68% of students did not get adequate exposure to nano-adsorbent technology, while 84% of respondents supported the addition of related materials in the engineering curriculum. In addition, only 35% of students have direct experience with this technology through labs or industrial internships, indicating the need for reform in the engineering learning system. As a contribution to the academic literature, this research provides an innovative educational model that combines nano-technology with sustainability-based engineering learning strategies. By proposing curriculum reforms, improved laboratory access, as well as partnerships with the CCS industry, the research not only provides concrete solutions for academia but also contributes to strengthening the skills of future engineers in low-carbon technologies. The implementation of this model is expected to increase the readiness of engineering graduates to support the transition to a more environmentally friendly industry and accelerate climate change mitigation through more effective CCS technology.

Abstract

This study explores how the English-only movement, particularly through the agenda of the English First campaign, has influenced U.S. public policy in ways that impact non-English-speaking communities. Grounded in New Social Movement and Dominant Culture theories, the research employs a conceptual and document-based approach to analyze five key cases: California’s Proposition 227, Arizona’s Proposition 203, Executive Order 14224, EEOC v. Premier Operator Services, and language challenges in Aurora, Colorado schools. These cases reveal how English-only ideologies have been codified into educational, legal, and workplace policies that marginalize linguistic minorities and reinforce English as a marker of national identity. While often framed as promoting unity or efficiency, these policies have limited access to public services, equitable schooling, and fair employment for immigrant communities. Rather than measuring policy outcomes quantitatively, the study highlights the symbolic and structural dimensions of language governance, underscoring the need for inclusive, multilingual policies that protect linguistic rights and democratic participation in the U.S.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether there is an influence of Hallyu on students' Academic Performance, in addition to that the dominant influence of Hallyu on Academic Performance, whether it has a positive or negative effect. Regarding the effect of Hallyu on academic performance the findings of several earlier studies vary. This study uses respondents from the current era in an effort to boost the value and knowledge associated with the research findings. This study uses descriptive & exploratory methods and hypothesis testing using regression analysis. University Students in the accounting study program and master's program in accounting for the 2020–2023 batch at one of the private universities in Bandung make up the study's population. The respondents have completed tax-related courses, such as international tax, tax planning, and taxation. The number of students in the research sample was 137. Surveys were distributed in order to gather data. The results of the study showed that Hallyu has a positive effect on student academic performance. Hallyu is able to reduce academic burnout in learning, thereby increasing student enthusiasm in learning/undergoing lecture activities. The results of the interviews with the respondents and the T-Test's significance value, which is less than 0.05, demonstrate this. This research can be used as a reference for academics to consider including Hallyu elements (including K-Drama and K-Pop in course materials used in the teaching and learning process in the classroom, for example in case studies regarding tax accounting, international tax, dan tax planning) to increase student interest in attending lectures, so that it is expected to improve student academic performance. This study specifically analyzes whether Hallyu can overcome learning burnout in students, or whether it only takes up study time and reduces students' academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the management of character learning based on Islamic education through a qualitative literature review. Scholarly sources were selected systematically based on relevance to key Islamic educational principles and character development practices, with 30 primary sources meeting criteria of recency and academic rigor. The development of character education rooted in Islamic teachings, particularly in the concepts of akhlaq (morality), adab (manners), and tarbiyah (holistic education), is essential in shaping the moral and ethical values of students. This review identifies successful practices within Islamic educational institutions, such as integrating Quranic teachings and prophetic traditions into curricula, and underscores the critical roles of teachers, parents, and administrators in modeling and reinforcing Islamic character values. Notably, the research highlights challenges in implementing consistent character education amid pressures of secularization and globalization. Findings suggest that a comprehensive management approach—one that aligns pedagogy, curriculum, and community engagement with Islamic values—is needed. This includes clear guidelines on educator roles and stakeholder involvement, as well as institutional support mechanisms. The study advances the literature by analyzing gaps in current approaches to Islamic character education and by recommending specific strategies for enhancing management practices. Further research is suggested to test these insights in various educational contexts to refine implementation strategies and strengthen the impact of Islamic character education.
