Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has facilitated access to information but also increased the spread of hoaxes, which can harm individuals and society at large. In this context, media literacy is an essential competency that people must possess to navigate the rapid and often inaccurate flow of information. Media literacy refers to the ability to access, comprehend, evaluate, and produce information critically and responsibly. This article highlights the importance of media literacy as a tool to curb the spread of hoaxes and foster a critically thinking society. It also discusses various strategies to enhance media literacy, including education, training, and the use of information verification technologies. By strengthening media literacy, society is expected to engage more actively and responsibly in the digital sphere.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk, fungsi, dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penggunaan bahasa gaul dalam komunitas motor Lenteng. Komunitas ini dikenal sebagai kelompok remaja pecinta otomotif yang memiliki gaya bahasa khas, hasil dari plesetan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Madura. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara terhadap salah satu anggota komunitas melalui aplikasi WhatsApp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa gaul yang digunakan memiliki bentuk yang unik dan bersifat internal kelompok, seperti “andai”, “gileeh ben”, dan “setel”. Bahasa tersebut berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi sekaligus penguat ikatan sosial antaranggota. Faktor yang memengaruhi penggunaan bahasa gaul dalam komunitas ini meliputi pengaruh media sosial, lingkungan pergaulan, serta latar belakang budaya daerah. Bahasa gaul dalam komunitas ini tidak hanya sebagai ekspresi kekinian, tetapi juga mencerminkan identitas dan solidaritas kelompok.

Abstract

The expansion of Indomie products into Africa reflects new dynamics in the economic and cultural relations of the Global South. Through collaboration between PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk and Tolaram Group, Indomie is not only present as a consumer product, but also plays a role in shaping cultural identity in African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Egypt. This study highlights how this expansion is supported by corporate diplomacy and strategic cooperation through the Indonesia–Africa Infrastructure Dialogue (IAID). Using a qualitative literature-based study method, this research analyzes the role of non-state actors in mediating the flow of cultural globalization in Africa. The results of the study show that Indomie has transformed into a cultural agent that influences the consumption patterns and lifestyles of local communities. This product has also created a form of cultural hybridization through the adaptation of local flavors and integration into daily life. However, this success also presents challenges related to symbolic dominance and the transformation of local values. These findings demonstrate that economic and cultural diplomacy can be intertwined in the context of contemporary international relations, and emphasize the importance of understanding consumer products as a means of disseminating cultural values and transforming identity in the era of contemporary globalization.

Abstract

This research discusses the choreography of Piring Gelas Dance which developed in Sanggar Kupek Beghaes, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. This dance is a traditional performance art that depicts the courage and determination of Musi Rawas women in maintaining religious and cultural values through the attraction of walking on a pile of plates and glasses. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the choreography of Glass Plate Dance consists of nine main elements: dancers, movements, music, costumes and makeup, floor patterns, performance venues, properties, lighting, and performance techniques. The main dancer must be a girl called dehe, and accompanied by two dayang dancers who are in charge of arranging a pyramid of plates and glasses. Core movements include greetings, glances, turns, transitions, and climbing the plate. The technique of walking on the plate pyramid requires great balance and poise. The main property is 16 glass plates and 6 glasses arranged into a two-level pyramid. This dance is performed in open and closed spaces and holds a deep philosophy of patience, precision, and female elegance. This research emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional dance as a local cultural heritage that is full of educational and aesthetic values.

Abstract

The Public Service Mall (Mal Pelayanan Publik/MPP) of Banyuwangi Regency is a public service innovation established in 2017 under the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (Dinas Penanaman Modal dan Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu/DPMPTSP). This study aims to evaluate and improve customer service quality at MPP Banyuwangi using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and Service Quality (SERVQUAL) methods. Enhancing service quality in the public sector is crucial to increasing public satisfaction and trust in government services. The research methodology involves data collection through questionnaires distributed to respondents who use services at MPP Banyuwangi. The service quality dimensions, based on the SERVQUAL and IPA models, are analyzed to identify gaps between customer expectations and perceptions of public services. The results indicate a significant gap between customer expectations and perceptions regarding specific service quality aspects. The implications of these findings suggest that service quality improvements in the public sector at MPP Banyuwangi can be effectively implemented by focusing on the key aspects identified in this study.

Abstract

Ethnographic research is one of the qualitative approaches that plays a significant role in understanding social and cultural phenomena within educational environments. This method focuses on direct and in-depth observation of daily activities, social interactions, and communication patterns in an educational community. This article aims to discuss the basic concepts, characteristics, types, advantages, and limitations of ethnographic research in education. In addition, this paper presents several examples of ethnographic studies in the field of education conducted in various regions in Indonesia. This study employs a library research method by collecting relevant literature such as books, journals, and scientific articles. The findings indicate that ethnographic research is not only effective in revealing cultural values within schools but also capable of capturing the interaction patterns and learning experiences of students and educators comprehensively. The results also highlight that a sufficiently long research duration is a crucial requirement for obtaining valid data. This article is expected to serve as a valuable reference for researchers, academics, and education practitioners in understanding and applying ethnographic approaches within educational contexts.

Abstract

In an era of advancing technology, critical thinking skills have become increasingly essential for managing and analyzing complex information, especially that obtained through social media and the internet. Literacy today not only includes technical abilities but also serves as a means to access accurate and relevant information. This article employs a literature review method by examining various previous studies and references to illustrate the relationship between digital literacy and critical thinking. The findings indicate that digital literacy plays a central role in enhancing critical thinking skills, particularly among students, by encouraging them to carefully filter information and make objective judgments. Digital literacy also helps prevent the spread of false information and hoaxes, while supporting individuals' moral, social, and cognitive development. In everyday practice, digital literacy teaches internet users not to easily trust viral information without verification, but instead to engage in critical analysis of the sources and content. Therefore, the development of digital literacy and critical thinking is crucial in shaping intelligent, wise, and responsible individuals in facing the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

Transformasi digital telah menjadi kebutuhan mendasar bagi perusahaan di era Industri 4.0, khususnya dalam penyajian dan penyebaran informasi perusahaan melalui media yang berani. PT. Bagus Jaya Sejahtera, sebuah perusahaan jasa konstruksi, belum secara optimal memanfaatkan sistem informasi berbasis web untuk branding dan komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi profil perusahaan berbasis website yang responsif, dinamis, dan mudah dikelola. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah Extreme Programming (XP), yang terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, perancangan, pengkodean, dan pengujian. Alat pengembangan meliputi HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP dengan framework Laravel, dan MySQL sebagai basis data. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa sistem meningkatkan aksesibilitas informasi perusahaan, memperluas jangkauan promosi, dan memperkuat citra profesional perusahaan. Website dilengkapi dengan CMS internal, galeri proyek, layanan informasi, dan integrasi media sosial. Evaluasi menggunakan pengujian black-box dan observasi kegunaan pengguna efektivitas website untuk komunikasi digital perusahaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pengelolaan kelas di pendidikan anak usia dini dengan fokus pada peningkatan disiplin dan kesiapan belajar peserta didik. Studi dilakukan di TK Lely Medan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan kelas indoor dan outdoor dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan anak serta mengidentifikasi hambatan dan solusi dalam pengelolaan kelas tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan kelas indoor dilakukan dengan sistem klasikal terkendali yang mengutamakan tata tertib dan pembiasaan, sedangkan pengelolaan kelas outdoor menekankan pembiasaan tata tertib dan penerapan hukuman bagi pelanggar disiplin. Hambatan yang ditemui antara lain kurangnya alat peraga, minat anak yang rendah terhadap kegiatan, serta masalah kecelakaan dan berebut permainan di kelas outdoor. Solusi yang diusulkan mencakup penambahan alat peraga, kreativitas guru dalam merancang kegiatan, dan pengaturan rasio guru-anak yang ideal. Kesimpulannya, pengelolaan kelas berbasis manajemen yang efektif dapat meningkatkan disiplin dan kesiapan belajar anak usia dini dengan dukungan strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai dan pengelolaan kelas yang kondusif.

Abstract

Abstract. The geopolitical rivalry in the South China Sea (SCS) has emerged as a pivotal concern in international relations, characterized by divergent interests between China and ASEAN nations. This area is strategically important to the world, which makes it hard for ASEAN countries to deal with China's large territorial claims. China wants to improve its position at sea by being more aggressive in its foreign policy. ASEAN countries, on the other hand, are using different strategies, from soft balancing to hard balancing. This study investigates the influence of China's foreign policy on ASEAN responses, highlighting the interplay of economics, security, and diplomacy. The study employs a qualitative methodology by synthesizing neorealism and neoliberalism perspectives, elucidating economic interdependence and the diplomatic framework essential for mitigating regional tensions. Keywords: Geopolitics, South China Sea, China’s Foreign Policy, ASEAN Abstrak. Persaingan geopolitik di Laut Cina Selatan (LCS) telah menjadi isu utama dalam hubungan internasional, yang melibatkan konflik kepentingan antara China dan negara-negara ASEAN. Kawasan ini yang memiliki kepentingan strategis global telah menciptakan dilema bagi negara-negara ASEAN yang menghadapi klaim teritorial China yang meluas. Melalui kebijakan luar negeri yang asertif, China berusaha memperkuat posisi maritimnya, sementara negara-negara ASEAN berupaya merespons melalui strategi yang bervariasi, mulai dari soft balancing hingga hard balancing. Studi ini mengkaji dampak kebijakan luar negeri China terhadap respons ASEAN dengan menyoroti dinamika ekonomi, keamanan, dan diplomasi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengintegrasikan perspektif neorealisme dan neoliberalisme yang menawarkan wawasan tentang interdependensi ekonomi dan kerangka kerja diplomatik yang memainkan peran penting dalam meredakan ketegangan regional.
