Abstract

Field Work Internship (PKL) is an experiential learning activity aimed at improving student competency through the direct application of theory learned in class. This PKL was conducted by a third-semester student at PT. Inkoneksi Izi Konsultan for 90 working days. Students were involved in the organization, supervision, and control of a construction project, including schedule planning, cost and material control, quality control and OHS, and daily and weekly project reporting. Key technical decisions included the recommendation to install a 500x500 Heavy Duty box culvert channel toward the road and the closure of half the road due to dense utilities along the roadside, as well as the proposed change in channel dimensions from 300x300 to 500x500. The PKL results demonstrated that the field experience provided a concrete understanding of the project's complexity, particularly in aspects of coordination, safety, congestion risk, and time management. A comparison between theory and practice revealed a gap in understanding of work methods that could only be bridged through direct experience. Thus, PKL plays a crucial role in developing students' managerial, technical, and problem-solving skills in the construction field

Abstract

Community service is a form of community midwifery care that aims to improve maternal and infant health through promotive and preventive approaches. One health problem still frequently encountered in the community is the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. Based on the results of an assessment and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted in Ragunan Village, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta City, it was found that the priority problem faced by the community is the low knowledge and awareness of breastfeeding mothers regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge, understanding, and motivation of postpartum and breastfeeding mothers to provide exclusive breastfeeding for six months. The methods used in this activity include data collection, prioritizing problems using the FGD method, and interventions in the form of health education, including the practice of good and correct breastfeeding techniques, and breast care education. The target group for this activity is postpartum and breastfeeding mothers in RT 006 RW 07.The results of the activity showed an increase in knowledge and understanding among breastfeeding mothers regarding the meaning and benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, proper breastfeeding techniques, and breast care. Breastfeeding mothers also demonstrated high enthusiasm and motivation to exclusively breastfeed their babies. This activity is expected to contribute to increasing the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding and support efforts to improve maternal and infant health at the community level.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises in flour processing still rely heavily on manual drying processes, which pose high risks of musculoskeletal disorders and low productivity. This community service program aimed to implement an ergonomically designed spreading and leveling machine to improve working posture and production performance at Kusuka Ubiku SME in Bantul Regency. The program was conducted through problem identification, assessment of workers’ physical complaints using the Nordic Body Map, posture risk analysis using Rapid Entire Body Assessment, ergonomic machine design based on anthropometric data through the Need–Idea–Decision–Action approach, followed by on-site implementation and mentoring. The results show a significant reduction in posture risk from a high-risk category to a low-risk category and an increase in worker productivity by 53.6 percent. These findings demonstrate that the application of ergonomics-based appropriate technology effectively enhances occupational health and operational efficiency in food-processing SMEs.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Program (P5) is an initiative designed to shape students' character holistically, in accordance with the noble values of Pancasila, which are the foundation of national and state life. One concrete step in implementing this program is through community service activities carried out by students of the Chemistry Study Program, Tribuana Kalabahi University, at Wolwal High School. This activity not only aims to provide technical knowledge regarding ecoenzyme production, but also plays a role in strengthening the P5 dimensions which include mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, creativity, and global diversity. In this activity, Tribuana Kalabahi University students integrate the chemistry theory they have learned with the direct practice of making ecoenzymes from organic waste. The creation of ecoenzymes, which is an environmentally friendly solution in waste management, is an effective medium for instilling students' understanding of the importance of environmental awareness and the practical application of chemical concepts. Through this activity, students are not only involved in the technical process of ecoenzyme production but are also empowered to think critically about innovative, creative, and sustainability-based environmental solutions. They are trained to work collaboratively in groups, reflecting the spirit of mutual cooperation, while simultaneously developing independence in carrying out practical tasks. Furthermore, this activity also provides a space for students to appreciate diversity, strengthen open attitudes, and deepen their sense of responsibility towards environmental issues, which aligns with the values of global diversity in P5.

Abstract

Environmental education and training are important ways to raise awareness and make coastal communities more active in protecting mangrove ecosystems. This project aims to explain how the implementation and impact of environmental education and training programs affect communities in the Mangrove Coast area, Kampung Nipah, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The methods used were community outreach, mangrove area management, and engagement with parties involved in training activities. These activities show that environmental education and training have a positive impact on increasing community knowledge, attitudes, and actions in preserving the sustainability of mangrove forests. The community now better understands the ecological and economic benefits of mangroves and has begun to actively participate in efforts to manage the area sustainably. The implementation of the activity encountered some obstacles due to inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, continuous support from the government and relevant parties is needed so that environmental awareness education and training programs can run well and have a sustainable impact on the preservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem and the welfare of communities living in coastal areas.

Abstract

This community service aims to analyze the effectiveness of using role play in teaching grammar to children at the Bukit Hermon Orphanage. Grammar and English language learning are important because English is an international language. The effectiveness of grammar teaching can be enhanced through the use of role play as a teaching method. The results of the study show that the role play method is quite effective in improving grammar knowledge. This research was conducted at the Bukit Hermon Orphanage because the students at the orphanage met the criteria needed by the researchers. The data collection method involved conducting pre-tests and post-tests to determine the improvement in knowledge in the samples after receiving treatment. The effectiveness of using role play in teaching grammar was measured through two tests: the pre-test given at the beginning of the session and the post-test given after the treatment or reinforcement by the researchers. The results of the study indicate that the use of role play in teaching grammar is quite effective.

Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional problem that affects physical growth, cognitive development, and human resource quality. Prevention efforts should begin during the preconception period through improving nutritional knowledge among prospective brides and grooms. Community health cadres play a strategic role as health educators at the community level. This community service program aimed to enhance cadres’ awareness, commitment, and knowledge regarding balanced nutrition for prospective couples as a strategy to prevent stunting. A community-based participatory approach was employed through interactive education sessions, group discussions, case studies, demonstrations of balanced local food menus, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. A total of 35 health cadres participated in the program. Most participants were aged 31–50 years (57%) and had secondary education (66%). The proportion of cadres with good knowledge increased from 57% in the pre-test to 86% in the post-test. Qualitatively, cadres demonstrated improved awareness, active participation, and commitment to integrating nutrition education into routine posyandu activities and counseling for prospective couples. The program positively strengthened cadres’ capacity as health promotion agents and shows potential sustainability through community empowerment. Preconception nutrition education for cadres is recommended as a promotive and preventive strategy to accelerate stunting reduction at the community level.

Abstract

Malnutrition among toddlers remains a public health issue that affects children's growth and development. One of the contributing factors is low intake of animal protein and parents' lack of knowledge about balanced nutrition. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge of mothers of toddlers and provide supplementary food interventions as an effort to improve the nutritional status of toddlers. The activity was carried out on December 30, 2025, in RT 08 RW 07, Ragunan Village, Pasar Minggu Subdistrict, South Jakarta, targeting malnourished toddlers. The methods used included toddler nutrition counseling and the provision of BESTI (Biscuits, Eggs, Milk) supplementary food innovations based on animal protein. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge and understanding of mothers of toddlers regarding balanced nutrition. The BESTI intervention was considered practical, economical, and well received by toddlers and families. This activity shows that a combination of nutrition education and the provision of simple family-based supplementary foods has the potential to be a promotive and preventive strategy in addressing malnutrition among toddlers in the community.
