Abstract

The experiment was carried out to obtain the variety of pak choy which shows the best respond on the urea fertilizer and, to determine urea dosage that caused the highest growth and yield of pak choy, also interaction between variety and urea fertilizer. The experiment was conducted in Sempaja, Samarinda from November to December, 2010. The Randomized Complete Block as Design, with factorial analysis 2 x 4 was used in the experiment. Each treatment was replicated three times. The first factor was pak choy varieties (V) consisting of two varieties, i.e.: v1 (Green) and v2 (White). The second factor was urea fertilizer dosage (U) consisting of four levels, i. e.: u0 (without urea); u1 (40 kg urea ha-1); u2 (80 kg urea ha-1) and u3 (120 kg urea ha-1). The statistical analysis showed that White variety gave the best result on the growth and yield than Green variety, with fresh weight was 22.24 Mg ha-1; The urea fertilizer 120 kg urea ha-1 dosage gave the best result on the growth and yield, with fresh weight is 23.36 Mg ha-1; while the interaction between two Factors (variety and Urea) was not significantly different on all variables observed. The orthogonal polynomial analysis showed that the relationship between urea fertilizer dosage (x) and fresh weight ha-1 (y) was linier, with equation of regression was ŷ = 13.675 + 0.082x, and correlation coefficient (r ) = 0.98.

Abstract

A research on maize tolerance on soil given sludge pulp and TSP was carried out at the experimental farm Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru from April to July 2012. The objective of the research was to see the tolerance sludge pulp and TSP interaction as well as individual on maize growth. The randomized completely design with two factorial was used for the experiment. The first factor was application of sludge pulp, consisting of four treatment namely P0 (control), P1 (14 g/plot), P2 (28 g/plot), and P3 (42 g/plot).The second factor was application of TSP, consisting of four treatment namely K0 (control), K1 (14 g/plot), K2 (28 g/plot), and K3 (42 g/plot). The observed parameters were plant height (cm), total wide leave (cm), bloomy age (day), harvested age (day), cob length (cm), number of row per cob (row), and seed weight per cob (kg). Data resulted from observation were analyzed statically and continued BNJ Test at 5% confidence level. As a result, tolerance of maize on soil given sludge pulp and TSp interactionally and individually had an effect on seed weight with the best result was showed by P3K3 treatment with 47.50 g. While, the obervation on plant height, total wide leave, bloomy age, harvested age, cob length, and number of row per cob had no a significant effect, but maize still can tolerate at a dosage of 42 g/plot.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effect of kind of madya and Fospor Dosage on growth of oyster mushroom. The research was conducted at Dokagu Housing Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru from May to July 2012. The experiment was arranged by the completely randomized design with 3 x 4 factors and 3 repeatitions. The frist factor was several kinds of medya (M), consisting of 3 factor, i.e, particle board (M1), rice straw (M2), and reed (M3). The second factor was various doses of Fospor (P), consisting of 0% (P0), 0.5% (P1), 1% (P2), and 1.5% (P3). Interaction of various madya and dosage of Posfor had no a significant effect on observed parameters. The kind of medya affected significantly on emerge miselium age, emerge pinhead age, harvest age, number of fruit body, and fruit body weight. Posfor dosage had an significant effect on emergresult was also showed that the best dosage of Posfor was 1%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guano fertilizer and methods verticulture and their interactions on the growth and yield of lettuce, and to find the guano fertilizer dose and proper verticulture method for lettuce. The experiment was conducted in Pinang Mas Housing Complex RT 46 Sempaja Village, North Samarinda sub district of Samarinda Cityfrom July 2011 to September 2011. The Split Plot Design within Randomized Block Design was used with 3 repitions. Factor of verticulture methods as main plots (V) consisted of a vertical (v) and horizontal (v2); Factor of guano fertilizer as sub-plots (G) consistied of: no fertilizer guano application (g0), 1 Mg ha-1 or 2 kg pots-1 (g1), 2 Mg ha-1 or 4 kg pots-1 (g2), and 3 Mg ha-1 or 6 kg pots-1 (g3). Analysis of the data used analysis of variance followed by least significant difference test at 5% significance level. The results showed that vertical and horizontal methods verticulture had no a significant effect on the all parameters observated. Guano fertilizer treatments affected significantly on plant height and number of leaves at the age of 10, 20, and 30 days after planting, plant fresh weight, and organoleptic tests of the color of the leaves and the level of crispness. The highest plant fresh weight wasproduced by treatment 3 Mg ha-1 or 6 kg pots-1 with 94.50 g fresh weight; The interaction between the methods of guano fertilizer verticulture had no a significant effect on the observed parameters: The organoleptic test by panelists provided a light green leaf color, crisp and rather liked.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate and select the 54 phenotype for fourth mutant galur of Kampar local mung bean resulting kolkisin mutation based on appearance of phenotype and agronomy plant. The research was carried out at Biological farm of FMIPA Riau University from April to September 2013. The randomized Block Design was used with one factor consisting of 54 treatments and 5 repetitions. Of the 54 galurs tested, it was found that 5 galur had the characteristic based on the observed parameter, namely PRCM_2153 galur, PRCM_2353 galur, PRCM_3314 galur, PRCM_3514 galur, and PRCM_3934 galur.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effect of the mixed grow medya and various atonic concentrations on seed growth of Eucalyptus pellita. The research was conducted at the R and D Nursery of PT. Arara Abadi from October to Desember 2012. The completely randomized design was used with two factors, namely Medya (M) and 5 treatments. The atonic concentration (A) consisted of 4 treatments. The first factor M0 (peat + charcoal husk; 3 : 1), M1 (charcoal husk + cocopeat + compost; 1 : 1 : 1), M2 (charcoal husk + cocopeat + compost; 2 : 1 : 1), M3 (charcoal husk + cocopeat + compost; 1 : 2 : 1), and M4 (charcoal husk + cocopeat + compost; 1 : 1 : 2). The second factor was atonic application (A) with concentration of 0, 2, 4, and 8 cc per liter water. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, stalk diameter, root lenght, root volume and compactness, plant bomass, grow percentage, and seed quality. The results showed that intereacion of mixed medya comparion and atonic application had no a significant effect on the obsrved parameters. The significant effect of medya was found on plant height, stalk diameter, grow percentage, and seed quaity with the best treatment was M4. The atonik application had no a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, root volume, grow percentage and seed quallity, but had a significant effect on stalk diameter and root lenght.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between several factors; marketing, inheritance professions, level of education, and production on land holding of rubber farmers. This study was conducted in the village of pepas Eheng Barong Tongkok District from October to December 2012. A total of 38 sample farmers was selected using simple random sampling method. The data were collected through personal interview and field observations. The data were analysed using a descriptive statistical analysis in the form of frequency tables, percentages, mean, and total mean scores and Chi-square tests, and Pearson’s contingency correlation test. The results show that the four factors influenced farmers' decisions to cultivate rubber farm in Kampung Pepas Eheng mainly X2 = 66.11 > X2 = 9.49. Pearson contingency coefficient value was 0.078. It indicates that the relationship among variables towrd land holding was very weak

Abstract

The agricultural sector holds an important role in economy of Indragiri Hilir Regency. The objectives of this research were to find out the role of agriculture in the economiy of Indragiri Hilir Regency, to know whether the agricultural sector give a surplus income in economy of Indragiri Hilir Regency, and to analyze subsectors whcich give greatly a multiflier effect on the agricultural sector. The method used case study in Indragiri Hilir Regency with using secondary data of PDRB 2003-2012. The analysis used was Location Quotient (LQ), income surplus and multiplier effect. The results showed that the fisheries subsector, plantation subsector and food crops subsector were subsector basis in economy with LQ value more than 1, while the forestry subsector and livestock subsector had LQ​​ < 1 (non-sector basis). Based on the analysis of surplus income, the plantation subsector provided the greatest surplus income, ranging from Rp.70922.59 to Rp.91586.82. Based on multiplier effect analysis; the food crops subsector gave the greatest multiplier effect. In 2012, this subsector had a multiplier effect of 6.93.

Abstract

Study on the effect of the combination of natural and artificial foods on the survival and growth rate of selais (Kryptopterus lais) was done. The objective of the study was to know the effect of the several feed combination on the growth and survival rate of Kryptopterus lais. A completely randomized design was applied with five treatments and two replications. The combination of the treatments consisted of 5 levels i.e. (A): Giving Moina sp on the 2-13th day, followed by Tubifex sp on the 11-21st day and 30% Tubifex sp + 15% pellet on the 21-30th day; (B): giving Moina sp on the 2-13th day, followed by Tubifex sp on 11- 21st day and 30% Tubifex sp + 15% pellets on the 21-30th; (C ): giving Artemia sp on the 2-9th day, followed by Tubifex sp on 7-21st day and 30% on Tubifex sp + 15% pellets; (D): Giving Artemia salina on the 2-13th day, followed by Tubifex sp on the 11-21st day and 30% Tubifex sp + 15% pellet on the 21-30th day; (E): Giving Tubifex sp on the 2-13th day, followed by Tubifex sp on the 11-21st day and 30%, and Tubifex sp+15% pellets on the 21-30th day. The hhighest survival of larva was recorded at the treatement E (combination among Tubifex sp giving on the 1-13th day, Tubifex sp on the 11th day, 30% Tubifex sp + 15% pellet) namely 34.67%. While the highest growth of weight and length was found at the treatment D (giving Artemia salina on the 2-13th day, followed by Tubifex sp on the 11-21st day and 30% Tubifex sp+15% pellets on the 21-30th day), respectively, were 2.55 gr and 7.31 cm.

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the effect of BAP and NAA interactionally and individually on explant growth of dragon fruit in-vitro. The research was carried out at the Biotechnology Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru. The experiment used the completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor was BAP concentration (B) with four treatments: B0 (0 ppm), B1 (2 ppm), B2 (4 ppm), and B3 (6 ppm). The second factor was NAA concentration (N) with four treatments: N0 (0 ppm), N1 (0.5 ppm), N2 (1.0 ppm), and N3 (1.5 ppm), so it was obtained 16 combination and 3 treatments. The observed parameter included age of shoot emergence, shoot number, and shoot height. As a result, the interaction use BAP ad NAA had effect on age of shoot emergence with BAP concentration of 4 ppm and 1,0 ppm. By using BAP only affected on the age of shoot emergence, percentage of explant life, and shoot height with BAP concentration of 4 ppm. Furthermore, the using NAA only had an effect on age of shoot emergence, shoot number and shoot height with concentration of 1.0ppm.
