Abstract

Maintaining an image of the pesantren (Islamic schools) is very crucial because this is one way which the pesantren can use to compete with other institutions. High positive reputation of pesantren would be helpful for it to be ahead of others. The way the various stakeholders in the society see pesantren depends on many issues e.g., their academic level. This study aims to examine whether there is a difference in the educational level of students regarding their perception of the pesantren image. This survey-based research employs non-parametric analysis using the Mann-Whitney U-test technique. The survey was conducted on 100 students at the madrasah tsanawiyah (junior high school) and madrasah aliyah (senior high school) levels. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The research findings reported a median pesantren image perception of 141 for tsanawiyah students' scores and a median image perception score of 143 respectively for aliyah students in madrasah. According to the Mann-Whitney test, there is no significant difference between their scores (sig. 0.445) which means they had similar views about pesantren among madrasah tsanawiyah and madrasah aliyah.

Abstract

Bullying, Sexual Violence, and Intolerance are significant challenges in the Indonesian education system, despite efforts by the Ministry of Education to address them. This study focuses on the application of the Small Group Discussion method to enhance students' understanding of the Hadith prohibiting the disparagement of fellow Muslims at SMA Darunnajah Jakarta. The research employs a classroom action research design with a one-group pretest-posttest method to measure the effectiveness of the intervention. The study was conducted in two cycles: in the first cycle, students used conventional methods, resulting in 45.83% of students achieving the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). After evaluation, improvements were made by implementing the Small Group Discussion method in the second cycle, which involved small group discussions to increase student engagement and understanding. The results showed a significant improvement, with 83.33% of students achieving the KKM after the intervention. These findings indicate that the Small Group Discussion method is more effective in enhancing students' understanding of Hadith compared to conventional methods. The study suggests integrating small group discussion methods into teaching to facilitate understanding of religious concepts and moral values in educational settings.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to explore the concept of Islamic Servant Leadership (ISL) and its implications for education in madrasas. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study analyzes 22 scientific articles related to this theme. The analysis results show that ISL is based on example, service to the people, and leadership based on moral and spiritual values. There are five main aspects identified in this study, namely the leadership model of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, leadership in madrasas, leadership in Islamic boarding schools, integration of Islamic values ??in leadership, and their impact on students' character education. The implementation of this leadership model also plays an important role in improving teacher communication ethics, collaboration between teaching staff, madrasah governance, and building student character. However, the results of this study also reveal a number of challenges to implementing ISL such as limited resources, leadership training, and resistance to changes in organizational culture. The initiative impact of this study provides recommendations for madrasa heads and educators in adopting the ISL model to produce a more inclusive learning environment based on Islamic values. Further studies are needed to empirically examine the implementation of this leadership model in various Islamic educational contexts.

Abstract

Abstract This study explores how an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum design can help prepare graduates for the workforce. A qualitative approach is used to gain an in-depth understanding of how OBE principles are implemented in higher education and how they contribute to enhancing graduates' competencies in line with industry needs. Data for this study were obtained through a literature review and interviews with academics and education practitioners to identify key factors in developing an OBE-based curriculum. The findings indicate that OBE emphasizes the achievement of measurable learning outcomes that are relevant to the job market through the formulation of clear learning objectives, the use of teaching methods focused on skill development, and outcome-based assessments that evaluate graduates' readiness. By implementing an OBE-based curriculum, educational institutions can more effectively equip students with the skills and knowledge required by industry demands, thereby increasing their chances of securing jobs that align with their expertise.
