Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the implementation of a cooperative institution management based on Sharia contracts within Islamic boarding schools, where, in essence, Islamic boarding schools are suitable for implementing various Sharia principles as Islamic educational institutions. This research employs a qualitative approach that is descriptive, analytical, and inductive in nature, aiming to unearth fundamental aspects of the phenomenon, reality, and experiences through data collection methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The research findings indicate that cooperative management can be carried out within Islamic boarding schools by empowering various Sharia contracts that have been legalized by the DSN MUI, such as Murabahah, Kafalah bil Ujrah, Qardhul Hasan, Salam, and Mudharabah contracts.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of student activity in the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) on students' readiness to enter the world of work and evaluate the effect of the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) on the Medan State Polytechnic campus. This evaluation was conducted using a questionnaire for Medan State Polytechnic students who had or are currently taking part in the 2021-2023 Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program. To achieve this primary goal, implementing the MBKM Program includes eight learning activities: student exchange, independent internships, teaching campuses, research/research, humanitarian projects, entrepreneurial activities, independent studies/projects, and thematic real-work lectures. The research results show that implementing the MBKM Program impacts several things, namely increasing experiential learning to shape students' hard skills and soft skills in the world of work and fulfilling graduates' learning outcomes. The results of this research also show that the MBKM program provides considerable benefits in terms of competency for Medan State Polytechnic students. Not only does it benefit students, the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) also positively impacts parties involved with students in carrying out the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) and increasing students' knowledge and skills. The MBKM program also affects students' readiness to enter the world of work, especially Polmed students who have participated in the MBKM program in the field of internship/field practice. Apart from that, this research also identified the satisfaction of Medan State Polytechnic students with the MBKM program implemented by the KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK and Medan State Polytechnic.Keywords: MBKM, Competency, World of Work, Understanding

Abstract

This research delves into the portrayal of moral values in the renowned movie "Slumdog Millionaire" and their impact on the perceptions of fifth-semester students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh. The study aimed to explore how cinematic representations of moral values could both inspire and educate students. Using a close-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale, data were collected from the students. The questionnaire was designed to assess students' perceptions regarding moral values depicted in the film, including belief in God, hard work, honesty and trustworthiness, perseverance, love and belonging, inspiration, positive thinking, patience, and self-confidence, with responses ranging from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree). The research findings suggest that "Slumdog Millionaire" effectively conveys a spectrum of moral values, with belief in God, hard work, and honesty and trustworthiness being the most favorably perceived. Moreover, the film is widely regarded as inspirational, encouraging students to integrate these values into their lives. This study underscores the pivotal role of cinema in shaping students' perceptions of moral values, with "Slumdog Millionaire" emerging as a source of both inspiration and education, illustrating the potential of visual storytelling in imparting essential life lessons among fifth-semester students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh.

Abstract

The assessment of employee performance plays a crucial role in shaping policies and decisions related to human resources within a company. Factors influencing employee performance include job satisfaction and the provision of non-financial compensation. This study aims to investigate the influence of job satisfaction and non-financial compensation on employee performance at PDAM Tirta Deli in Deli Serdang Regency. The research adopts an associative type, seeking to explore the impact of job satisfaction (X1) and non-financial compensation (X2) on employee performance (Y) at PDAM Tirta Deli, Deli Serdang Regency. Data collection techniques involve observation, questionnaires, and literature review, utilizing a Likert-scale questionnaire as the instrument. The population comprises all employees at PDAM Tirta Deli, Deli Serdang Regency, totaling 164 individuals, including 93 permanent and contractual employees and 71 contract-based employees. The sample for this study consists of 93 permanent and contractual employees at PDAM Tirta Deli, Deli Serdang Regency. The results indicate a significant impact of job satisfaction and non-financial compensation on employee performance at PDAM Tirta Deli, Deli Serdang Regency. The researchers recommend that PDAM Tirta Deli continues to enhance employee job satisfaction and provides effective non-financial compensation to stimulate optimal employee performance.

Abstract

This research is an explanatory study that uses a qualitative approach in assessing the role of talent management in improving the performance of principals in high schools / vocational schools in Aceh, focusing on managerial skills, leadership, communication, and innovation. This research is based on a review of related literature involving an in-depth analysis of concepts related to talent management, talent identification, talent development, talent retention, performance measurement, organizational culture development, and the role of incentives as mediating elements. The results of this study provide deeper insight into the role of talent management in the context of education in Aceh and can be the basis for improving talent management policies and practices in an effort to improve the leadership quality of school principals in SMA/SMK.

Abstract

Work enthusiasm is one of the dominant factors influencing the level of work productivity. Factors affecting work enthusiasm include the level of work motivation, work intensity, work stress, work environment, compensation, leadership style, and other variables. This research aims to explore the relationship between work enthusiasm and the level of work motivation, work intensity, work stress, work environment, compensation, and leadership style. The research method applied is library research by collecting literature-related data on factors influencing work enthusiasm. This study is descriptive, presenting findings narratively through various literature sources, including books, encyclopedias, scientific journals, newspapers, magazines, and documents. The results show that the level of work motivation, work intensity, work stress, work environment, compensation, and leadership style significantly influence work enthusiasm. High motivation tends to increase work productivity, while low motivation can hinder the level of employee productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of leadership style and work motivation on employee performance at Kanyoho Car Workshop in Banda Aceh. The population of this research includes 9 respondents, comprising 1 owner and 8 employees of Kanyoho Car Workshop. The sample size is 8 individuals, excluding the owner. The data analysis model employed is multiple linear regression, with independent variables consisting of leadership style and motivation, and the dependent variable being employee performance. Data collection techniques involve documentation and questionnaires, incorporating a set of statements and written questions provided to respondents for completion based on their actual circumstances. The research findings reveal a robust and positive correlation between leadership style and motivation with the performance of Kanyoho Car Workshop employees. Other variables, such as work discipline, compensation, job stress, and others, collectively contribute to 37.2% of the observed variance. Recommendations include the necessity for enhancing leadership style among employees, as it significantly influences employee performance. Moreover, recognition and rewards are crucial to fostering motivation in the workplace

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of trade between countries and foreign direct investment on economic growth in the ASEAN integration region. Elements of capital, labor, and education variables are also studied in research studies. The research data is balanced panel data in the form of ASEAN-10 from 1996 to 2021. Data analysis uses the System Generalized Method of Moments. The study's results found that labor capital, education, and intra-trade positively affected ASEAN economic growth. However, foreign direct investment has a negative effect on economic growth. A similar sign is also found in the long term, where labor capital, education, and intra-trade have a positive effect while foreign direct investment has a negative effect. Interestingly the highest effect when compared to others. Meanwhile, the impact of intra-trade trading was the lowest.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have a very important role for the economy of Indonesia, because the development of SMEs increases the absorption of the highest labor force compared with other business units. This study aims to analyze the application of accounting at SMEs and to determine whether SMEs have prepared financial statements in accordance with Financial Accounting Standards Entities Without Public Accountability (SAK ETAP). Methods of data collection in this study used the method of documentation, observation and direct interviews with respondents. This study uses descriptive - comparative analysis techniques to compare the application of accounting in the preparation of financial statements of SMEs and SAK ETAP. The results showed that the implementation of accounting conducted by the perpetrators of SMEs at shrimp earthen dam is still very simple and the perpetrators have not prepared financial statements in accordance with SAK ETAP due to lack of knowledge of SMEs regarding SAK ETAP.

Abstract

This study aims to identify both linguistic and non-linguistic reading comprehension problems during online learning. This qualitative study used a descriptive design focusing on 18 of the fifth and seventh semester students from the English Education Department in the Teacher Training and Education Faculty in Serambi Mekah University. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using qualitative analysis to explore the students’ reading comprehension difficulties during online learning. The results indicated that the students experienced the most reading problems in the areas of facilities (69.46%). This means the participants considered it as the most frequent problems that interfered with their reading comprehension during online learning.
