Abstract

Education is a very important aspect in making the nation smarter, but there are still educational problems, especially for some students who have financial problems to continue their education. Several universities are trying to alleviate this problem by establishing amil zakat institutions to collect and distribute zakat funds to help students in need. Polmed Ziswaf Center is an institution that manages zakat, infaq, shadaqoh and waqf through campus-based digital programs. The purpose of this research is to provide an overview and evaluation of the performance of the Polmed Ziswaf Center for its success in managing ziswaf funds to empower underprivileged students who have a high desire to learn but have financial limitations at the Medan State Polytechnic through educational scholarships. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. The data sources in this research were obtained through observation, interviews and focused discussions at the Polmed Ziswaf Center office. The informant in this research is the distribution and utilization sector on behalf of Dr. Suherman, M.Ag and Collection Division on behalf of M. Yunus, S.Pdi. The data analysis technique in this research uses data triangulation techniques. The results of this research show that the Polmed Ziswaf Center has distributed zakat funds for education through a scholarship program, but it is felt that it is very necessary to develop various other program targets, especially for underprivileged Medan State Polytechnic students.

Abstract

Consumers are experiencing increased awareness of healthy food, including healthy candy. Therefore, sugar in candy was reduced by adding isomalt and trigona honey. Natural flavors such as patchouli oil are also added to replace synthetic flavors in hard candy. This research aims to determine the physicochemical and descriptive properties of patchouli and trigona’s honey hard candy. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result shows that the low-calories hard candy containing Trigonas Honey and Patchouli Oil has yield value range 67.66% - 63.10%, with density value range 2.35 (g/cm3) - 2.18 (g/cm3) and pH value range 4.56 - 3.86. It can be concluded that the hard candy that containing trigona’s honey and patchouli oil has the physicochemical properties that high yield, relatively low density, slightly acidic so further reseach are needed to overcome deficiencies in the physicochemical properties of these functional hard candies.

Abstract

According to a Financial Services Authority (OJK) report, funding through Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending has grown significantly in the last five years. Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending does provide many benefits to its users. Apart from the ease of making loans compared to conventional banks which provide many requirements, Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending can provide solutions for its users to apply for loans with various conveniences. But currently many Indonesians cannot pay their bills. This can be seen from the bad credit ratio of various platforms. For various reasons and backgrounds, they are said to have failed to pay or not paid their bills. This is interesting because many literature studies explain the benefits of Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, but no one has written a scientific article from the user's side, let alone users who fail to fulfill their obligations to pay bills. Therefore, the author wants to conduct research from the consumer side, especially those who fail to fulfill their obligations. This research is qualitative research and the method that will be carried out is in-depth interviews. The long-term goal of this research is to educate readers to be wiser in using Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending. The specific target is to serve as reference material for formulating policies on how Fin Tech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending can improve service quality not only for users who regularly pay their bills but also for users who fail to fulfill their obligations.

Abstract

The one-step sputtering for fabricating CuInGaSe2 (CIGSe) solar cells has been gaining attention due to its potential for simplifying the manufacturing process, large area uniformity, and environmentally friendly as less reliance on toxic Se precursors such as H 2 Se. Despite these advantages, several drawbacks remain. To date, devices fabricated by quaternary sputtering without additional selenization have been limited in efficiency to about 16%, and realizing bandgap grading in order to match the performance of the best evaporated devices presents a challenge. We discuss the prospects for quaternary sputtering as a fabrication technique for CIGSe and highlight areas of research that may result in improved performance. It also delves into the challenges faced in optimizing the material properties and device performance, and the ongoing research efforts to overcome these hurdles. The paper concludes with a perspective on the future directions for the field, emphasizing the importance of this research in the context of sustainable energy solutions.

Abstract

This study investigates Charades as a gamified learning tool in English language teaching. It explores how this game improves vocabulary, listening, speaking, and writing skills at various educational levels. The study examines the benefits and challenges of Charades, emphasizing its ability to generate dynamic and engaging learning experiences. Despite its popularity, there has been little scholarly investigation into its specialized use as a gamification tool. This study addresses this need by performing a semi-systematic literature review to investigate the benefits and challenges of Charades. The findings show Charades' effectiveness in improving language skills, such as vocabulary retention and communication abilities. However, time limits and unexpected disturbances in the classroom setting are mentioned as obstacles. This study provides further implications to maximize the positive effects of Charades while overcoming these limitations in educational settings. This study underlines the need for additional empirical research and educational practices to properly exploit Charades' benefits while reducing its challenges for an enhanced and engaged learning experience.

Abstract

The character of Industrial Work Culture is universal, so it can be adopted to be applied to vocational education institutions as a basic thing so that later when students enter industry they will find several similar characteristics that students must already have. This study aims to realize a development design (blueprint) in instrument development. This investigation aims to produce an instrument that can be used to develop and measure the industrial work culture character of vocational students, especially those in Aceh. So far, the development of industrial work culture character has been mandated to be implemented by the Indonesian government. The theoretical basis of this study is the theory of Kartwohl and Bloom (1956). The affective domain is a domain related to attitudes, values, feelings, emotions, and stages of acceptance or rejection of an object in teaching and learning activities. Affective assessments need to be carried out in the same way as cognitive assessments, so students must have character competencies that can be measured like cognitive competencies. The affective domain is divided into five categories, namely: Receiving or Attending, Responding, Valuing, Managing, Characterization. The affective domain requires measurement tools like the cognitive domain so that students' affective competence is also better developed. Character is an affective domain, the design of the Industrial Work Culture Character Instrument (IKBKI) in carrying out this study was limited to five characters, namely: discipline, hard work, honesty, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
