Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the influence of productive speaking skills on the skills of telling the moral message of the folklore Sampuraga by Puspasari Setyaningrum by students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. This research was conducted in class X SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat located in the village of Sitinjak. Addressed at Jl. Sibolga, Sigumuru, Kec. West Angkola, South Tapanuli Regency, Prov. North Sumatra. The research method that the author uses is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Descriptive method, using a multiple choice test variable X 10 questions and essay variable Y 5 questions. The population of this study consisted of six classes of students in class X totaling 185 students. There are two stages carried out, namely descriptive analysis, statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study, it is known that there is a significant influence between the ability to speak productively on the skills of telling the moral message of the Sampuraga folklore by Puspasari Setyaningrum by class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. This can be seen in the hypothesis testing carried out on the data found, where the hypothesis alternative (ha) in this study is accepted, namely (ho) is rejected.Keywords: Productive speaking, moral messages.

Abstract

Style of language is a form described in the conduct of elections diction, phrases and clauses in a sentence. Either in writing or orally. In the selection of diction are some by the author. For some writers, the choice of diction is very important that the purpose and the intended meaning precisely the reader in mind. The lyrics are considered a work rich in diction metaphors or parables. In this paper have two songwriter and singer who uses song lyrics figurative meaning that the lyrics performed by Iwan Fals and Slank. The method used in this paper is a qualitative method with some additional techniques. Then combined with the theory that includes Base BREAK Discourse, Discourse Relations, Equilibrium Discourse, Discourse Actualization, Sustainability Discourse. The lyrics were created by Iwan Fals selected as the primary discourse containing style figurative language and imagery. While the lyrics Slank used as a secondary discourse that only a few uses language metaphors or parables. As a comparison the lyrics of this song were analyzed based languages or parable uses. Keywords: BREAK Theory, language in style, song

Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis and interpretation of the values and meanings contained in Ulos cloth, as identity and culture. The aim of this research is to understand the meaning implicit in Ulos cloth culture. To limit understanding, the researcher formulated the research focus in a simple description with several core points contained in the title Culture and Characteristics of the Batak Tribe. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interviews. This research uses qualitative research methods. By using this method we find out the meaning contained in Kian Ulos as Batak Culture. The purpose of this research is to find out the philosophical meaning contained in the Ulos Cloth, to find out the message contained in the Ulos Cloth. Keywords: Culture, Semiotic Analysis, Meaning contained in Ulos Cloth.

Abstract

This study aims to find out "The Development of Learning Materials for Critical Reading Skills Contained with Moral Messages Sourced from the Helvy Tiana Short Story There is for Class X Man 2 Padangsidimpuan Students". This study uses the R D cycle development method of Borg and Gall. The steps used in this study are data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision, usage testing, product revision, and bulk results. The research instruments used were non-tests and tests. Research uses material experts to validate teaching materials. Data analysis techniques with descriptive analysis. The results of the development of critical reading skills teaching materials with moral messages derived from Helvy short stories There is no Rosa for students of class X Man 2 on the list included in the "Good" category. The results of the validation of the development of literature appreciation teaching materials in the material aspects of teaching materials amounting to 3, as a whole can be categorized as "Good". Based on the results of the critical reading assignment, the moral message originating from Helvy Tiana Rosa's short story for Students of class X MAN 2 Padangsidimpuan is known to be "very good". Can be seen from the results of the average score of 87 students with a value range of 81-100. Respond students and teachers as a whole about teaching materials critical reading skills charged with the moral message of the work of Helvy Tiana Rosa short stories with an average of 81.43% with a category desperately in need of teaching material.

Abstract

Language and Policy for Palm Oil Development in Indonesia, using BREAK theory and policy analysis studies with deep forensic linguistic dimensions solving language problems and oil palm development policies. BREAK is an acronym for Discourse Basis, Discourse Relations, Discourse Equilibrum, Actualization Discourse, and Sustainability of Discourse. BREAK theory is a theory created by Sawirman on the failure of Kant(ian), Hegelian, and Marx(ian) dialectics in mapping the typology of movements and structures of changes in reality and discourse accommodating. This theory aims to explain linguistic phenomena along with see the movement of the essence and spirit of discourse. Policy analysis has a linguistic dimension Forensics requires knowledge and understanding of various multidisciplinary sciences. Relation language, law, and political strategy are the main variables in the analytical study policy with a forensic linguistic dimension. The results of this research show that the essence of primary discourse is planning regarding palm oil development to be better in the future. The essence of secondary discourse is news about conflicts over palm oil development that are not going well. The spirit of the primary discourse is to make changes for the better, while the spirit from secondary discourse is information that shows existing policies being sent off did not go well on the field. Next, on to policy analysis with a forensic linguistic dimension, there is an intrusion or action of a criminal within making and establishing oil palm development policies. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an ability to use inter-sentence conjunctions in argumentative paragraphs with the theme "Environmental Damage" by class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan City with the research population being all class X SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan City, totaling 218 students, and the sample are 32 students in total. To obtain data in the research, the authors submit tests to students, cloze tests on the ability to use conjunctions between sentences (variable X) and essay tests on argumentative paragraphs with the theme "Environmental Damage" (variable Y). The research method uses descriptive quantitative analysis and statistical analysis using the correlation formula "r" product moment. Then the highest score obtained for each variable is 90 and the lowest 70 with an average of 75.9 for the X variable, and the highest 80 and 70 the lowest with an average of 75.6 for the Y variable. In the data that has been submitted it is obtained rxy= equal to 0.448 this means rxy rtable significant level of 5% or 1%, namely 0.448 0.361. Thus the hypothesis proposed can be accepted for truth.Keywords: Conjunctions BetweenSentences, Argumentative Paragraphs.

Abstract

Language errors are often found in the activity of presenting papers in learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in the research are in the form of words. This study aims to describe errors in Indonesian in the form of spelling in the activity of presenting papers in learning. The technique used for data collection in this study was observing and noting. Data analysis by classifying and grouping. The results of this study were errors in the language of presenting papers in learning including language errors in the form of variations in Indonesian including: Indonesian mixed with English; Indonesian mixed with the South Tapanuli Batak language. Keywords: analysis, language errors, learning Indonesian

Abstract

This development research aims to describe the results of the validation reliability of the development of literary criticism teaching materials using the independent learning method. The problem that often occurs is the lack of textbooks that can support the learning of literary criticism courses, so that students' understanding of theory practice in literary criticism courses is weak. The research method used is the RD development method. The research sample is 4th semester students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program FKIP UM-Tapsel for the 2021-2022 academic year. Based on the results of development research it is known that the reliability conclusion of developing literary criticism teaching materials using independent learning methods is successful and feasible to be made as literary criticism teaching materials for independent learning.Keywords: Development, teaching materials, literary criticism, independent learning

Abstract

Students' critical thinking skills can be influenced by the selection of learning models. This study aims to: (1) determine the level of students' understanding of the concept after the jigsaw type cooperative learning. (2) knowing the level of students' thinking ability after doing jigsaw cooperative learning. (3) knowing the effect of jigsaw type learning method on conceptual understanding ability. (4) knowing the effect of jigsaw type learning method on critical thinking skills. The type of experimental research used was Quasi-Experimental. The research subjects consisted of 65 students. Samples were taken from the subject population consisting of 33 students in class Va (control group) and 32 students in class Vb (experimental group). The dependent variable consisted of conceptual understanding and thinking skills from student learning outcomes. The independent variables are the jigsaw method and the lecture method. The technique of collecting data on learning outcomes uses multiple choice tests and for students' understanding of concepts and thinking skills activities using a questionnaire of student activity observation sheets. Learning outcomes are compared based on criteria and learning outcomes data are analyzed by gain test and t test. The results showed that the jigsaw method had a significant effect on conceptual understanding and thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN 101090 Gunung Tua in Indonesian. The activity of understanding concepts and thinking skills of students in the experimental class achieved very high criteria, while those in the control class only reached the sufficient criteria. The average posttest value of the experimental group is better than the control group. The mean posttest of the experimental group was 72.15 and the mean posttest of the control group was 64.21. This shows that the g gain index for the experimental group is 74.25 (high) while the g control group is 64.72 (moderate). The results of the t test show that the value of tcount (2.474) ttable (1.992) means that the Jigsaw method has an effect on learning outcomes in Indonesian and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.05 which is 0.028. These results conclude that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class. Keywords: Jigsaw Method, Understanding of concepts, critical thinking skills, Indonesian
