Abstract

Currently, many teachers still apply conventional learning models, especially in Islamic Education subjects. In today’s modern era, a more effective and relevant learning model is required. One model considered capable of improving learning effectiveness is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study aims to determine the application of the Problem Based Learning model in PAI subjects for eighth-grade students at SMP Empat Lima Karanggeneng and to examine the effect of PBL on students’ learning outcomes. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach. The research design involved two classes: the experimental class using the PBL model and the control class using a conventional model. The research instruments consisted of pretests and posttests. Data analysis used the t-test and linear regression to identify differences in average learning outcomes between the two groups. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning model significantly influenced students’ learning outcomes in the PAI subject, proven by the t-test results (t-count 11.285 > t-table 2.037) with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, indicating a significant effect of PBL on student achievement. Moreover, the gain score of the experimental class (1.81) was higher than that of the control class (0.52). Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model is more effective to improve students’ learning outcomes in Islamic education.

Abstract

Religious character education is the core of the Islamic education system, especially in Islamic boarding schools. However, the rapid flow of modernization and low spiritual awareness are evident in the behavior of students, such as starting to neglect sunnah worship, and being easily influenced by practical lifestyles. This condition is a serious challenge, including at the Kebon Dalem Islamic Boarding School in Tanggungan Village. To address this challenge, this Islamic boarding school implements several strategies through the habit of praying Tahajud as a means of forming the religious character of students. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the strategies implemented (2) to identify supporting and inhibiting factors (3) to analyze the impact of the habit of praying Tahajud on the formation of religious character of students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that (1) The strategies implemented include role models, routine scheduling, supervision, personal motivation and emotional approaches, and evaluation (2) Supporting factors such as the active role of administrators, religious environment, and student awareness. While inhibiting factors include laziness, physical condition, lack of sleep patterns, and different backgrounds (3) The impact of religious character formation is seen in positive thinking patterns, good behavior, piety, istiqomah, patience, and sincerity in worship. So this finding confirms that the habit of praying Tahajud with the right strategy is able to form the religious character of students effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

Character education is an important foundation in shaping the morals of the younger generation, especially in Islamic boarding schools whose primary mission is to produce individuals with noble character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education and the factors that influence the formation of the morals of students at the Bustanul Thullab Sukodadi Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that character education is implemented through the habituation of worship, teaching Islamic values, the exemplary behavior of ustadz and caregivers, and fostering social activities such as community service and yellow book recitation. This implementation has proven effective in shaping the character of students who are disciplined, honest, responsible, and have integrity. The success of the formation of the morals of students is also supported by a conducive Islamic boarding school environment and the commitment of caregivers in providing consistent guidance. Thus, character education at the Bustanul Thullab Islamic Boarding School is able to make a real contribution to the formation of the morals of students.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions where students study the Al-Qur'an, Hadith, fiqh, morals and other Islamic knowledge, both formally and non-formally. Apart from functioning as a place for religious education, Islamic boarding schools also shape the character and personality of students. However, one of the problems that often arises is the low level of discipline among students, which results in non-compliance with rules, weak motivation to learn, and lack of responsibility. Discipline is an important value that reflects obedience, order, and a sense of responsibility. To instill these values, Islamic boarding schools implement a ta'zir system. The aims of this research are: (1) to describe the application of ta'zir at the Tanwirul Qulub Islamic Boarding School, Sungelebak Village, Karanggeneng District, Lamongan Regency. (2) To describe the application of ta'zir in shaping the disciplined character of male students at the Tanwirul Qulub Islamic Boarding School, Sungelebak Village, Karanggeneng District, Lamongan Regency, The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques include; observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of ta'zir at the Tanwirul Qulub Islamic Boarding School is educational and proportional, through verbal warnings, additional assignments, spiritual formation, and social sanctions. Ta'zir is carried out educationally, taking into account the condition and psychology of the students, so that they realize their mistakes and do not repeat them. Ta'zir has been proven to be effective in forming discipline, responsibility, obedience and self-control. Students who are subjected to ta'zir show positive changes in behavior and worship. In the long term, ta'zir fosters moral awareness, self-control and discipline as part of character, as well as providing a preventive effect on other students.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam membentuk pribadi peserta didik yang bertanggung jawab, jujur, dan disiplin. Karakter disiplin sangat diperlukan untuk membangun generasi yang taat aturan, mampu mengelola waktu, serta konsisten dalam perilaku sehari-hari. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, SMP Cahaya Quran Islamic Boarding School (IBS) menerapkan program Building Learning Power (BLP), yaitu sebuah pendekatan pendidikan yang dikembangkan oleh Guy Claxton yang berfokus pada lima komponen pembentukan kapasitas belajar: Resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness, reciprocity, dan devoutness. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi program BLP di SMP Cahaya Quran IBS dan bagaimana program tersebut membentuk karakter disiplin siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi lapangan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program BLP dilakukan secara sistematis melalui kegiatan harian seperti pengisian jurnal, ceklist aktivitas, serta sesi cerita inspiratif. Program ini berdampak positif terhadap pembentukan kedisiplinan siswa, baik dari segi tanggung jawab pribadi, keteraturan belajar, maupun kepatuhan terhadap aturan sekolah. Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan BLP antara lain keterlibatan guru, dukungan manajemen sekolah, dan antusiasme siswa. Adapun hambatan yang dihadapi berupa keterbatasan waktu pelaksanaan dan belum meratanya pemahaman awal siswa terhadap konsep BLP. Dengan demikian, program BLP terbukti efektif dalam membentuk karakter disiplin siswa di lingkungan pendidikan berbasis boarding school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the cooperative learning model take and give in the subject matter of cultural diversity and local wisdom, and to analyze the activeness of fourth grade students at MI Nurul Huda Sawo during the learning process. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that the implementation of take and give consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and closing. The teacher prepared learning cards, and students studied and exchanged information with peers. This process created an interactive, enjoyable, and participatory learning atmosphere. Students’ activeness increased significantly, as reflected in their willingness to ask, answer, and express opinions. Observation data showed that most students were categorized as active to very active, with activeness percentages ranging from 72% to 92%. These findings suggest that take and give effectively enhances student activeness while reducing teacher dominance. Thus, it is relevant to be applied in IPAS learning, particularly in cultural diversity and local wisdom materials

Abstract

Dalam melakukan proses pembelajaran perlu adanya media yang tepat, dalam pemilihan media harus dengan cermat dan tepat agar dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan materi kepada peserta didik dengan baik dan bisa dipahami oleh siswa tersebut. Salah satunya media yang digunakan yaitu media flash card. Dengan menggunakan media flash card terciptanya pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan bagi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media flash card dalam meningkatkan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab dan bagaimana peningkatan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab dengan menggunakan media flash card . Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas 2 MI Al-Amal Kediren, Kecamatan Kalitengah, Kabupaten Lamongan, dengan subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas 2. Hasil penelitian mengenai penggunaan media flash card dalam meningkatkan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab yang dirancang secara menarik dan interaktif ini melalui 3 tahapan yaitu tahap pendahuluan atau persiapan, inti atau pelaksanaan, dan penutup. Yang dimulai dari mempersiapkan kartu flash card, kemudian penggunaannya dengan yang pertama memperkenalkan kartu tersebut lalu satu persatu dilihatkan kepada siswa, setelah itu dilakukan tanya jawab dan permainan edukati secara kelompok dan mandiri, dan diakhiri dengan penguatan kembali dengan pengulasan mufrodat. Dan hasil peningkatan daya ingat mufrodat bahasa arab menggunakan media flash card terlihat dari hasil ulangan awal sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media tersebut. Dengan adanya penggunaan media flash card ini siswa sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Arab, dikarenakan media tersebut bergambar, siswa juga merasa senang, dan mudah dalam memahami materi yang dijelaskan oleh peneliti.

Abstract

With the development of the modern era, numerous changes have occurred, including in the food sector. Advances in science and technology have resulted in a wide variety of foods and beverages available in Indonesia, ranging from fast food and instant drinks, local to international. This is undoubtedly a concern for parents and teachers of Wahid Hasyim Middle School students. The purpose of this study was to determine how to increase student awareness of the importance of understanding halal and haram food and beverages through a word wall application using a problem-based learning model. It also explained the importance of raising awareness of halal and haram food and beverage consumption among grade VIII D students of Wahid Hasyim Junior High School. This study employed qualitative methods, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Furthermore, the researchers employed data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. From the results of this study, it can be seen that the way to increase students' awareness of the importance of understanding the material on halal and haram food and drinks is by integrating Islamic jurisprudence subjects into the material on halal and haram food and drinks through the wordwall application with a problem-based learning model. so that students are able to understand the material in depth and can increase awareness of the importance of understanding the material on halal and haram food and drinks.

Abstract

One of the subjects that contributes to shaping students' character is the subject of Aqidah Akhlak. In the learning process, students are not only expected to understand theoretically but are also directed to implement it in their daily lives. Initial observations by the researcher at MTs Unggulan Sabilillah Lamongan show that some seventh-grade students exhibit a lack of responsibility. This study aims to determine how the Aqidah Akhlak learning is implemented and its influence on the formation of students' responsible character. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study indicate that the Aqidah Akhlak learning supports the formation of students' responsible character, even though there are several inhibiting factors in its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in the learning process to instill discipline in seventh-grade students at MTs Nusantara Sukolilo. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education teachers apply five main strategies in forming students' disciplined character, namely: (1) habituation, such as performing congregational prayers, attending on time, and obeying school regulations; (2) role models, by consistently demonstrating disciplined behavior in daily life; (3) reward and punishment, through giving awards to disciplined students and educational punishment for those who break the rules; (4) supervision, in the form of teacher control over student behavior both inside and outside the classroom; and (5) motivation, through giving religious advice and encouragement so that students have an internal awareness to be disciplined. Supporting factors for implementing this strategy include sound lesson planning, school support, and parental involvement. Meanwhile, obstacles include negative peer influence, unsupportive family conditions, and low levels of discipline awareness among some students. Therefore, this study concludes that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher strategies play a crucial role in developing students' disciplined character. However, for this strategy to be effective and sustainable, consistent teacher involvement and close collaboration between the school, parents, and the students' social environment are required.
