Abstract

The high level of fishing activity with small fishing vessels has resulted in relatively high utilization of marine space in coastal areas, manifesting changes in fishing grounds. Thus, this research aimed to analyze water quality, fishing intensity and to determine the level of degradation of fishing grounds in the northern waters of Banten Province. This research was conducted from June to August 2023 in the northern waters of Banten Province. Data collection was carried out using survey, remote sensing, and interview methods. Water quality data consisting of sea surface temperature, brightness, salinity, light attenuation coefficient, total suspended solids, and chlorophyll-a were analyzed descriptively. Eco-friendly capture fisheries data were taken directly from 120 fishermen and analyzed based on the CCRF criteria. Degradation status was determined by combining weight of water quality conditions and eco-friendly capture fisheries. Based on the research results, the northern waters of Banten Province is in good condition for biota life. Fishing equipment is dominated by eco-friendly fishing gear. Nevertheless, several parts of northern waters in Banten Province have experienced light degradation of fishing areas (18.28%) and the heavy degradation (7.71%). The use of marine space for capture fisheries in the northern waters of Banten Province is relatively high, around 50 units of fishing gear for 1 hectare of water. Keywords:EnvironmentFishing intensityFishing gearSpatial mappingWater quality

Abstract

The People of Peukan Bada generally work as fishermen. The ships used by the Peukan Bada people are generally wooden material. The capture fisheries sector in the Peukan Bada area is currently still small in scale. This can be seen from the type of fishing gear used by ships operating in the waters of Peukan Bada. The problem is that the shipbuilding industry in Peukan Bada is currently not developing following the challenges faced. So it is necessary to develop a fishing boat yard in the area. The purpose of this research is to find out what meters need to be considered in the development process. The method of collecting data used in this study is the survey method. The survey that will be carried out is by directly observing the conditions and assessing factors related to fishing vessels, the data needed to support this research method is primary data. The primary data were obtained from direct observations of various activities carried out in the shipyard and the results of interviews obtained with workers in the shipyard. The data analysis used is Fishing Bone Analysis the result of this research is that this shipbuilding industry has developments that are still far from capacity, potential, needs, and the need for the development of land parameters, human resources, machinery, materials, methods or ways of working, shipping flows and production capacity.

Abstract

A 28-days trial was conducted in an aquaponics culture system to determine the effect of the different vegetable plants application on the growth performance and survival rate of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Common carp seeds were obtained from local fish farmers in Aceh Besar District. A total of 360 common carp fingerlings (size 3-5 cm) were used and placed in 12 containers with the capacity of 80 L each. The study used four treatments, namely A (control), B Kale (Ipomoea aquatica), C Lettuce (Lactuca sativa), and D Pakcoy (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis), with three replications for each treatment. The result showed that different vegetable plants' applications significantly affected (P 0.05) the absolute weight gain, absolute length gain, and survival rate of common carp fingerlings. The highest value obtained was in treatment B (Ipomoea aquatic) with an absolute weight gain of 3.93 ± 0.28 g, absolute length gain of 3.81±0.21 cm, and survival rate of 100±0.0%, while the lowest was in treatment A (control) with an absolute weight gain of 1.21±0.76 g, absolute length gain of 1.70±0.10 cm and survival rate of 91±0.86%. Water quality was also collected in this study and the parameters during rearing were still within the tolerance limits of common carp rearing. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Kale plant, Ipomoea aquatica is the most recommended vegetable plant to be co-cultured with common carp in the aquaponics system. Keywords:AquaponicsCommon CarpVegetable Plants

Abstract

Abstract. The snubnose pompano Trachinotus blochii is one of the important commercial fishery commodity in the Indonesian market. The increasing of the market demand has led some efforts to increase the production of this fish. So do the increasing need for green mussels Perna viridis meat. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the performance of both species in the polyculture system by using raft culture. This study aims to compare the growth performance of snubnose pompano cultivated on a monoculture system and polyculture within green mussels in a raft system. The parameter observed was the differences in the  growth performance of both species and the increase in total weight and survival (SR) of the fish. The results showed that the growth of snubnose pompano did not provide a significant difference in the growth of both cultivating systems whether in monoculture or polyculture system, likewise the shell length and width of the green mussels. We conclude that it is profitable to cultivate both organisms on a polyculture system because it can harvest both green mussels and snubnose pompano together in a period. Keywords: Snubnose pompano, green mussel, monoculture, polyculture, raft, growth Abstrak. Abstract

Abstract. The aims of the study were: (1) to test oxygen consumption of Anadara granosa under sub-lethal concentrations of endosulfan, (2) oxygen consumption under sub-lethal concentrations of glifosat and (3) oxygen consumption under mixture of endosulfan and glifosat. Complete randomlizeddesign were applied on this experiment. Initially, the oxygen consumption was standardised against animal’s dry flesh weight. Results showed that dry flesh weight afffected significantly the oxygen consumption.  The relationship between the two variables was formulated as  y = 0.217 + 0.243x.  Based on teh relationship, the oxygen consumption was reported as mg/l/hr of 1g standard animal.  Exposure of blood cockles to various sub-lethal concentrations of pesticides showed that the oxygen consumption rates reduced as the concentrations increased.  For endosulfan, the oxygen consumption rate decreased from (0.5325 ± 0.1556)mg/l/hr at 0.05 ppm to (0.2282 ± 0.1552 ) mg/l/hr at 0.5 ppm.  Increasing glifosat from 50 ppm to 200 ppm reduced the oxygen consumption from (0.3111± 0.1811)to (0.2449 ± 0.2548)mg/l/hr. Accordingly, the oxygen consumption decreased from (0.3376± 0.972)mg/l/hr to (0,2841± 0.2057)mg/l/hr when concentrations of mixture endosulfan + glifosat mixture increased from 0.005 + 50 ppm to 5 + 200 ppm. Keywords: pesticide; endosulfan; glyphosate; Anadara granosa; bioassay; oxygen consumption Abstrak.

Abstract

The distribution and abundance of fish are strongly influenced by several oceanographic parameters, one of which is chlorophyll-a. Chlorophyll-a is one of the oceanographic parameters that play an important role in primary productivity in the sea. The distribution of chlorophyll-a contained in phytoplankton can be used as a measure of fertility in water. With advances in geographic information systems or remote sensing, the distribution of chlorophyll-a can be used to estimate fish catchment areas. This study aims to look at the distribution of chlorophyll-a in Aceh waters both spatially and temporally to predict fishing locations. This study used satellite imagery combined with a Geographic Information System (GIS) to detect chlorophyll-as distribution. The results of satellite image processing show that the average monthly value of chlorophyll-a in Aceh waters ranges from 2.71 23.54 mg/m3, areas with high chlorophyll-a are generally located in the western waters of Aceh to the southwestern waters of Aceh, while areas with The lowest chlorophyll-a is generally in areas far from the coast (towards the open sea) with a range of 0.04 0.5 mg/m3 where the lowest average occurs in the east monsoon. However, in general, the potential locations for fishing grounds are more in the waters west of Aceh than in the waters north of Aceh, Aceh waters.Keywords:Chlorophyll-aSatellite imageFishing areaGeographic information SystemAceh Waters
