Abstract

Abstract. This study presented an economic analysis of nursery operation for tiger and green grouper with different production scales. The result highlighted small scale nursery of tiger grouper with a 3 year projected both positive cumulative cash flows and NPV. Small scale of green grouper highlighted both positive cumulative cash flow and NPV, also IRR and B/C higher than the medium and large scale. Medium scale of tiger grouper generated both positive cumulative cash flow and NPV. In addition, medium scale of tiger grouper generated IRR and B/C higher than small and large scale. Medium scale of green grouper generated IRR and B/C higher than large scale. The results of the financial analysis indicated the income of large scale of tiger grouper higher than medium scale, but the ratio benefit of medium scale higher than large scale. Small scale of green grouper indicated ratio benefit higher than medium and large scale. The sensitivity analysis showed decreased survival rate to 60% affects a negative contribution to the NPV, IRR and B/C on a large scale of green grouper. On the other side, small scale of green grouper obtained higher profit ratio despite a decline in survival rate, an increase in seed costs and falling seed prices. This suggests that small scale of green grouper not affected to volatility of the main variable costs.Keywords: Nursery; tiger grouper; green grouper; production scaleAbstrak. Penelitian ini menyajikan analisa ekonomi pendederan kerapu macan dan lumpur dengan skala produksi yang berbeda. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budidaya kerapu macan dalam skala kecil, dengan proyeksi 3 tahun menghasilkan arus kas kumulatif dan NPV positif. Sedangkan pendederan kerapu lumpur skala kecil menunjukkan arus kas kumulatif dan NPV positif, IRR dan B/C yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pendederan skala menengah dan besar. Pendederan kerapu macan skala menengah menghasilkan aliran kas dan NPV positif. Selain itu, pendederan kerapu macan skala menengah menghasilkan IRR dan B/C yang lebih tinggi dari kecil dan besar. Sedangkan pada pendederan kerapu lumpur skala menengah menghasilkan IRR dan B/C lebih tinggi dari skala besar. Hasil analisis keuangan menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan pendederan kerapu macan pada skala besar lebih tinggi daripada skala menengah, tetapi rasio keuntungan skala menengah lebih tinggi dibandingkan skala besar, sedangkan pada pendederan kerapu lumpur menunjukkan bahwa rasio keuntungan skala kecil lebih lebih tinggi dibandingkan skala menengah dan besar. Analisis sensitivitas menunjukkan bahwa penurunan sintasan kehidupan sampai 60% memberikan kontribusi negatif pada NPV, IRR dan B/C pada pendederan kerapu lumpur skala besar. Sebaliknya pendederan kerapu lumpur skala kecil memperoleh rasio keuntungan yang lebih tinggi meskipun terjadi penurunan sintasan kehidupan, peningkatan biaya benih dan penurunan harga. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pendederan kerapu lumpur skala kecil tidak berpengaruh dengan volatilitas biaya variable utama.Kata kunci: Pendederan; kerapu macan; kerapu lumpur; skala produksi

Abstract

Abstract. Sea ranching activity is highly depending on the ecology of coral reef condition. Floating cages activities in Semak Daun island has potential to produce waste along with organic waste from other anthropogenic activities in land and its will lead to eutrophication causing degradation of coral reefs. This study was conducted from May to July 2013. A survey method was used to obtain primary data. Data sets also supported by secondary data. Waste loads estimation of net aquaculture that enter the waters was 1178.1 Kg/ton of fish production (N 243.9 Kg/ton of fish and P 54.1 Kg/ton of fish). Estimated of anthropogenic waste load around the Semak Daun island was 4167 Kg N and 1738.8 Kg P. Based on N load, the carrying capacity of Semak Daun Island for grouper floating cages was 32 unit (192 raft) or 2 ha of 9.99 ha area that appropriate for floating cage activities. In addition, based on dissolved oxygen, the carrying capacity was 28 units (168 raft) or 1.6 Ha of 9.99 Ha area that appropriate for floating cage activities. Keywords: Sea Ranching; Organic waste; Carrying capacity; Semak Daun Island. Abstrak. Kegiatan Sea ranching sangat tergantung kondisi ekologi terutama ekositem terumbu karang. Dengan adanya aktivitas keramba jaring apung yang terdapat di perairan Pulau Semak Daun memiliki potensi untuk menghasilkan limbah pakan bersama dengan limbah organik yang berasal dari berbagai kegiatan di darat dan apabila tidak terkendali dengan baik akan menyebabkan terjadinya eutrofikasi  sehingga menyebabkan degradasi terumbu karang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2013. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Menggunakan Analisis dilakukan terhadap estimasi limbah organik dan analisis daya dukung perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan estimasi beban limbah budidaya jaring apung yang masuk ke perairan Pulau Semak Daun yaitu sebesar 1.178,1 Kg /ton ikan produksi (N 243,9 Kg/ton ikan dan P 54,1 Kg/ton ikan). Estimasi limbah antropogenik dari daratan sekitar pulau Semak Daun diperoleh 4.167 Kg N dan 1.738,8 Kg P. Berdasarkan pendekatan beban limbah N, daya dukung lingkungan perairan Pulau Semak Daun untuk pengembangan KJA ikan kerapu adalah 32 unit (192 petak KJA) atau 2 ha dari 9,99 ha luasan yang sesuai untuk kegiatan KJA. Berdasarkan ketersediaan oksigen terlarut, daya dukung perairan diperoleh 28 unit (168 petak KJA) atau 1,6 ha dari 9,99 ha luasan yang sesuai untuk KJA.Kata Kunci :  Sea Ranching; Limbah Organik; Daya dukung perairan; Pulau Semak Daun

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate mouth character and tooth structure variations of Bagridae. The sampling was conducted on February to July 2012 at Serayu River Banyumas, the sampling was done four times with two week intervals using casting nets and gill nets. A total of three species Bagridae, namely Mystus gulio, Mystus nigriceps and Hemibagrus nemurus were recorded during the study. The results showed that there were no variation on mouth and dental structure among species. Thus, theese characters could not be used to discriminate species among these species.Keywords. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the culture performance of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) that have been treated with 17α-methyltestosterone (MT) and without MT (w-MT), feed with different protein levels (20, 24, and 28%) and recombinant Epinephelus lanceolatus growth hormone (rElGH)-diet. The research was conducted in 9 treatments and triplicate. Tilapia larvae were soaked twice, totaling 500 larvae, at the age of 10 days after hatching (DAH) and the age of 14 DAH was soaked for 4 hours using 1/l MT 2 mg/l solution. Fish maintenance was conducted in an aquarium of 1.0x0.5x0.5 m3 in the first month, and three months later in net cages (2.0x2.0x1.5 m3). Daily growth rate (DGR) and biomass gain (BG) were increased in line with increasing feed protein content and rElGH supplementation. The highest DGR and BG values were MT+28+rElGH (P 0.05) treatment. The highest feed consumption and the lowest feed conversion ratio were also obtained in the MT+28+rElGH treatment (P 0.05). Fish survival was ranged from 79.89 to 90.28% (P 0.05). The highest profit potential was found in the MT+28+rElGH treatment. The efficient aquaculture can be obtained by feeding sex-reversed tilapia at a protein level of 28% and a diet supplemented with rElGH.Keywords:Feed conversion ratioGrowth hormoneProtein retention17α-methyltestosterone

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the selectivity of the Rf 0.5 fraction of MeOH extract of putat air kernels (Barringtonia racemosa) on golden snail (Pomacea canaliculata) and tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus). The research was conducted on November 2011 to February 2012 at Chemical Laboratory of Teacher Training and Education Facultyand Marine Chemical Laboratory of Coordinatorate of Marine and Fisheries of Syiah Kuala University. Thin-layer chromatography was used as the separation technique towards component compounds in the extract samples. The research was used five levels concentration of Rf 0.5 fraction of MeOH solution (20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, 100 ppm) with three repetitions. Mortality rates of golden snails and tilapia were detected when they were exposure to Rf 0.5 fraction of MeOH extract of B. racemosa kernels. The data were analyzed by Probit, and selectivity value (S) was calculated by Feng and Wang formula. Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to assess fisheries sustainability of flying fish in Takalar, South Sulawesi using RAPFISH analysis which is composed of four dimensions (ecological, economic, social, and technological).The results of sustainability analysis show that sustainability index in Takalar is 30.93, indicates that the status of flying fish commodities was less sustainable. Monte Carlo analysis results revealed that fisheries sustainability index is strongly stable. Leverage analysis results showed that there were 10 sensitive attributes of 15 existing attributes. Ten sensitive attributes should be of concern to policy makers and become policy priorities in the management of flying fish in Takalar.Hence, arrangement and the implementation of policies on sustainable flying fish fishery in Takalar is cricually needed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai status keberlanjutan sumberdaya ikan terbangdi Selat Makassar.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis RAPFISH dengan menggunakan 4 dimensi yaitu ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, dan teknologi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang di Kabupaten Takalardikategorikankurang berkelanjutan karena nilai indeks yang dihasilkan hanya sebesar 30.93. Hasil analisis sensitivitas menunjukkan bahwa dari total 15 atribut yang digunakan, teridentifikasi 10 atribut sensitif yang mempengaruhi nilai indeks keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang yaitu: jangkauan daerah penangkapan, ukuran ikan yang tertangkap, ikan yang tertangkap sebelum dewasa, pasar utama telur, harga jual, sumber modal kerja, pemanfaatan traditional ecological knowledge, sistem ponggawa-sawi, pola kerja, dan perubahan alat tangkap bale-bale. Sedangkan 5 atribut yang tersisa dikategorikan tidak sensitif.Dengan demikian, penyusunan dan penerapan kebijakan yang dapat memperbaiki kondisi keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang di Kabupaten Takalar dianggap perlu dilakukan.Kata kunci :Status Keberlanjutan Ikan Terbang; RAPFISH; Kabupaten Takalar; Sulawesi Selatan

Kajian ini menekankan pengaruh Arlindo terhadap variasi sebaran suhu dan klorofil-a terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan cakalang di Selat Lombok pada periode tahun 2008. Data yang digunakan yaitu suhu, klorofil-a, arus permukaan dan hasil tangkapan ikan cakalang. Hasil visualisasi menunjukkan pada musim barat, suhu permukaan lautnya cukup tinggi yaitu berkisar 26,62-31,12oC dan konsentrasi klorofil-a sebesar 0,056-0,978mg (m-3)-1 dengan arah arus cenderung ke timur laut dengan kecepatan 0,0250-0,4439 m/detik. Pada musim peralihan I suhu permukaan lautnya sedikit mengalami penurunan yaitu berkisar 26,77-30,30oC dan dan diikuti dengan kenaikan konsentrasi klorofil-a sebesar 0,073-0,732mg (m-3)-1 dengan arah arus cenderung ke timur dengan kecepatan 0,0640-0,8123 m/detik. Pada musim timur suhu permukaan lautnya cukup rendah yaitu berkisar 24,30-29,33oC dan dan diikuti dengan kenaikan konsentrasi klorofil-a sebesar 0,149-0,989mg (m-3)-1 dengan arah arus ke tenggara dengan kecepatan 0,4351-1,1813 m/detik. Pada musim peralihan II suhu permukaan lautnya kembali naik yaitu berkisar 25,12-31,05oC dan dan diikuti dengan penurunan konsentrasi klorofil-a sebesar 0,096-0,946mg (m-3)-1 dengan arah arus ke tenggara dengan kecepatan 0,1129-0,7336 m/detik. Hubungan antara suhu dan klorofil-amenunjukkan adanya variasi akan tetapi pada suhu yang hangat dan klorofil-a yang cukup tinggi terdapat hasil tangkapan yang cukup tinggi yaitu pada bulan September-November.Kata kunci : Arlindo; Selat Lombok;  Ikan Cakalang

Abstract

Abstract. This research examines the influence of ENSO (El Niño and Southern Oscillation) in the Malacca Strait with the southern oscillation index using the Pacific Ocean in determining the condition of Normal, El Niño and La Nina as the analysis of mass transpor of sea water, sea surface elevation and the density of the sea. The research methods using the Navier-Stokes equations with force generating tides, winds from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Year 1980- 007, salinity(Levitus and Boyer, 1994a) and temperature (Levitus and Boyer, 1994b). Equations of motion of the sea water were modeled with the model of Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). The results show that the transport in northwestern part of the Malacca Strait is lower, but in the southeastern part is stronger compared to that of in Normal and La Nina events. While in Sea Level Elevation at El Niño event is lower compared to that of in Normal and La Nina events. For sea surface density, the density values are 18.5 s/d 20.5 kg/m3 while for the later 30-50 m, the values are 19-21 kg/m3. Sea surface density and density for layer 30-50 m in th southeastern part of Malacca Strait for El Niño events are higher than that of in normal and La Nina event. Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi ekonomi kawasan mangrove serta potensi luas kawasan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sempadan pantai. Adapun metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu nilai ekonomi mangrove di bagian barat Teluk Pangpang dengan menggunakan metode effect on production (EOP) dan kesesuaian kawasan sempadan pantai. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, diperoleh utilitas konsumen dari kawasan mangrove adalah sebesar Rp.33.187.626,12. Dengan jumlah nelayan mangrove sekitar 350 orang dan luas daerah penangkapan sekitar +489 Ha, maka nilai ekonomi sumberdaya kawasan mangrove dilihat dari fungsi pemanfaatan langsung adalah sebesar Rp.32.189.744,06 per hektar per tahun. Sedangkan untuk potensi kawasan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai kawasan sempadan pantai dari hasil perhitungan tumpang-tindih (overlay) dapat dihasilkan wilayah yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai yaitu + 127,5 ha, sedangkan sesuai luas + 257 Ha, dan kurang sesuai seluas + 442,1 ha dan tidak sesuai yaitu + 1.910,1 ha.Abstrak dalam bahasa indonesia, tidak lebih dari 250 kata (garamond fond 11)Kata kunci : Teluk Pangpang; Ekonomi mangrove; Sempadan pantai; Rehabilitasi

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to examine the Acriflavine doses and immersion time on the sex ratio and survival rate of Bagrid catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus. The completely randomized design of factorial was applied in this research (4x2) with 3 replications. The tested doses were 0 mg/L, 2.5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, and 7.5 mg/L and immersion times were 6 hours and 12 hours.  The Anova test showed that Acriflavine doses and immersion times were not influence significantly on survival rate and sex ratio of Hemibagrus nemurus. However, the highest male sex ratio was found 5 mg/L dose and 12 hours immersion time.Keywords : Bagrid catfish, Hemibagrus nemurus, acriflavine, masculinization  Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman terhadap keberhasilan pembentukan kelamin jantan dan sintasan benih ikan baung yang terbaik. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (4x2) dengan tiga kali ulangan. Variabel bebas yang diukur adalah kombinasi antara dosis akriflavin (0 mg/L, 2,5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, dan 7,5 mg/L) pada lama perendaman (6 jam dan 12 jam. Hasil uji Anova menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap sintasan dan rasio kelamin ikan baung.
