Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in increasing students' confidence in communicating in Indonesian in the classroom environment of Utama Medan Private Junior High School. The research background is based on the phenomenon of low active student participation in formal communication due to the dominance of regional languages, as well as the emergence of psychological barriers in the form of communication apprehension and defensiveness as a defense mechanism. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the guidance and counseling teacher, the Indonesian language teacher, and 20 seventh-grade students. The results indicate that low self-confidence is not solely a matter of limited vocabulary, but also a result of fear of failure and socialu stigmatization. Through a humanistic approach, guidance and counseling services have proven effective in changing students' perceptions, reducing emotional resistance, and building communication courage. Furthermore, cross-functional collaboration between guidance and counseling teachers and subject teachers, as well as the implementation of an inclusive literacy program, are key to successfully creating a learning environment that supports the development of students' communication skills.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the tendency of previous research on dogs in the Qur’an to focus primarily on legal aspects and negative perceptions, thus not fully exploring their broader representational dimensions; therefore, this study aims to analyze the scientific and moral representations of dogs in QS. Al-Kahf [18]: 18 and QS. Al-A‘raf [7]: 176 through a scientific exegesis approach. This research employs a qualitative library-based method with a descriptive-analytical approach, integrating classical and contemporary interpretations with modern scientific findings, particularly in animal biology. The findings reveal that dogs are represented in a complex manner through two main dimensions: as loyal and protective creatures in QS. Al-Kahf [18]: 18, and as a moral symbol for humans who follow their desires in QS. Al-A‘raf [7]: 176; furthermore, the Qur’anic description of dogs panting aligns with the biological mechanism of thermoregulation. In conclusion, the representation of dogs in the Qur’an is integrative, encompassing both biological and ethical dimensions, and opens a dialogical space between revelation and science in a contextual framework.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality on guest satisfaction at star-rated hotels in Bandar Lampung City. Service quality is a critical factor that directly determines a hotel guest’s level of satisfaction and their intention to revisit. Using a quantitative approach with descriptive-associative design, this study involved 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling from guests who had stayed at three-to-five-star hotels in Bandar Lampung during the 2024–2025 period. Data were collected through structured questionnaires based on the SERVQUAL model (Parasuraman et al., 1988), encompassing five dimensions: tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to determine the simultaneous and partial effects of each dimension on guest satisfaction. The results indicate that service quality simultaneously exerts a significant positive effect on guest satisfaction (F = 28.47; p < 0.01), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.74, meaning that 74% of variance in guest satisfaction is explained by service quality dimensions. Partially, assurance (beta = 0.32; p < 0.01) and empathy (beta = 0.28; p < 0.01) were the strongest predictors of guest satisfaction. These findings underscore the importance of staff competency and personalized service delivery in enhancing hotel guest satisfaction. Hotel management is recommended to invest in continuous staff training focused on interpersonal skills and service attitude.

Abstract

Education serves as a fundamental instrument in the formation of personal integrity and human resource development, the success of which is significantly influenced by the interaction between students and their physical environment. Neurally, the learning process involves the formation of synaptic connections in the brain, requiring a distraction-free environment to ensure the optimal transformation of information into functional knowledge. This study aims to examine and analyze the role of learning space facilities on student concentration during the learning process at SD Negeri 8 Talang Kelapa. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed to descriptively reveal the manifestation of student concentration behavior in relation to the physical condition of the classroom. Primary data sources involved classroom teachers, infrastructure staff, and students, while secondary sources included school inventory documents and literature related to environmental psychology in learning. Data collection techniques were conducted through non-participant observation over 10 meetings, structured and unstructured interviews, and documentation of learning space physical conditions. Data analysis was carried out systematically through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing based on the Miles & Huberman model (1994). The results indicate that learning space facilities including lighting, air circulation, and furniture layout play a crucial role as mechanical prerequisites for students to achieve maximum concentration. Conversely, limitations in physical facilities potentially hinder students' mental focus, resulting in a decline in the quality of subject matter comprehension. This research provides implications for the importance of sustainable infrastructure management to realize a conducive learning environment at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of qailulah from a hadith perspective and its relevance to preventing academic burnout in students in the digital era. This study falls within the field of Hadith Studies with an interdisciplinary approach that connects hadith teachings with mental health issues in higher education. This study aims to analyze hadiths about qailulah thematically and examine their relevance in addressing academic burnout due to the high demands of study and the use of digital technology. The study used a qualitative approach with library research methods. Data were obtained from hadiths about qailulah in various hadith books and scientific literature on student mental health. The analysis was conducted using the thematic hadith method to gain a comprehensive understanding. The results show that qailulah is not only a form of worship but also functions as an energy management strategy and maintains a balance of activities, thus potentially helping reduce the risk of academic burnout in students in the digital era.

Abstract

The Qur’an uses various animal metaphors to convey theological and scientific messages, including the fly in Surah Al-Hajj: 73 and the termite in Surah Saba’: 14. This study aims to analyze these two verses using the Scientific Exegesis approach to uncover the scientific implications behind the mention of these two insects. The results of the study indicate that the Qur’an’s challenge regarding the inability to reclaim something seized by a fly is closely linked to the fly’s extracellular digestion process, which chemically transforms substances in a short period of time. Meanwhile, the role of termites in revealing the death of Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) demonstrates a systematic mechanism of cellulose degradation, which proves the limitations of the jinn’s knowledge regarding the unseen. This integration between the sacred text and modern biological discoveries reinforces the argument that every detail in the Qur’an has an accurate empirical basis..

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam proses pendidikan, khususnya dalam pola pengelolaan waktu belajar peserta didik di era modern. Kehadiran perangkat digital, platform pembelajaran daring, serta akses informasi yang cepat memberikan peluang besar dalam meningkatkan efektivitas belajar, namun di sisi lain juga memunculkan tantangan berupa distraksi dan penurunan konsentrasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak teknologi digital terhadap efektivitas manajemen waktu belajar peserta didik serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pemanfaatannya dalam kegiatan akademik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan observasi terhadap peserta didik pada jenjang pendidikan menengah. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif dan inferensial untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan teknologi digital dengan kemampuan manajemen waktu belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi digital memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan waktu belajar apabila digunakan secara terarah dan proporsional, seperti untuk akses materi pembelajaran, pengingat jadwal, dan pengelolaan tugas akademik. Namun, penggunaan yang berlebihan untuk aktivitas nonakademik cenderung menurunkan disiplin belajar dan menghambat produktivitas peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengawasan, literasi digital, serta strategi pengelolaan penggunaan teknologi agar pemanfaatannya dapat mendukung peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara optimal.

Abstract

This study examines the stylistic phenomenon of ta’kīd al-madh bimā yusyibihu adz-dzamm in the description of Jannah within QS. Al-Wāqi‘ah [56]: 25–26 and QS. An-Naba’ [78]: 24–25. The research aims to reveal the rhetorical structure, semantic function, and stylistic implications of paradoxical praise expressed through seemingly negative constructions. This study employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on stylistics and Arabic rhetoric (balaghah), particularly ‘ilm al-badī‘. The primary data consist of Qur’anic verses containing negation and exception structures, while secondary data are drawn from classical and contemporary tafsir, stylistic studies, and balaghah literature. The findings demonstrate that the pattern of negation (nafy) followed by exception (istitsnā’) functions as a rhetorical strategy to intensify the praise of Paradise by emphasizing the absence of negative elements. This structure creates emotional engagement, reflective meaning, and aesthetic depth within the Qur’anic discourse. Furthermore, the integration of stylistic and balaghah approaches provides a more comprehensive understanding of the Qur’an’s linguistic beauty and semantic complexity, especially in interpreting eschatological verses related to Jannah.

Abstract

Era digital telah mengubah pola komunikasi dan akses informasi, termasuk dalam dunia pendidikan. Media sosial memiliki potensi besar sebagai sarana pendukung pembelajaran, namun pemanfaatannya di sekolah-sekolah daerah masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media sosial sebagai sarana pendukung pembelajaran di SMK PGRI Muaradua pada era digital. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 25 siswa, 6 guru, dan 1 wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa WhatsApp merupakan platform paling dominan (100%), namun pemanfaatannya masih terbatas pada pengiriman tugas satu arah. Frekuensi penggunaan media sosial untuk pembelajaran hanya 2-3 kali per minggu (25%), jauh di bawah penggunaan untuk hiburan (85%). Hambatan utama meliputi ketidakstabilan jaringan (75%), keterbatasan kuota (68%), rendahnya kompetensi digital guru (92% membutuhkan pelatihan), serta distraksi konten hiburan (70%). Persepsi guru dan siswa terhadap integrasi media sosial positif secara konseptual, tetapi belum didukung oleh kebijakan sekolah dan keterampilan teknis yang memadai. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial di SMK PGRI Muaradua belum optimal sebagai sarana pendukung pembelajaran. Diperlukan pelatihan pedagogi digital bagi guru, strategi pembelajaran luring-daring terpadu, kontrak belajar digital, serta pengembangan konten lokal yang kontekstual agar potensi media sosial dapat dimaksimalkan di era digital.

Abstract

Poverty remains one of the most deeply rooted socioeconomic challenges in Indonesia. As a strategic policy response, the Hopeful Families Program (PKH) has been implemented since 2007 with the aim of reducing poverty and improving the human capital of the poorest households. This study analyzes the effectiveness of PKH as a conditional cash transfer program in Indonesia from 2019 to 2023, focusing on its implementation mechanisms, accuracy of beneficiary selection, and measurable outcomes related to poverty reduction. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with document analysis and secondary data review, this study examines government reports, national statistics, and peer-reviewed literature. Findings show that PKH contributed significantly to reducing the poverty rate, which fell from 9.22% in 2019 to 9.36% in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, then recovered to 9.54% and gradually fell to 9.03% by 2023. During the pandemic, PKH payments were increased to cushion economic shocks, demonstrating the adaptability of the program. However, challenges remain, including inaccuracies in beneficiary data selection, low graduation rates among beneficiaries, regional differences in program implementation, and insufficient integration with complementary social security programs. This study recommends strengthening integrated social data systems, improving local government capacity, and designing clearer graduation pathways to promote long-term socioeconomic independence of PKH beneficiaries. Policy reforms that address these structural constraints are critical to optimizing the role of PKH in achieving Indonesia's national poverty reduction goals.
