Abstract

This article discusses the use of blended learning models on students' learning motivation and critical thinking skills. Blended learning, which combines face-toface learning with independent learning or class-based activities, has been proven to increase students' involvement and active participation in the learning process. This model provides opportunities for students to manage their own learning time while getting direct support from face-to-face teaching. In the context of learning motivation, blended learning provides variations in learning methods that can spur students' interest and enthusiasm for learning. In addition, this model also strengthens students' critical thinking skills through discussion, reflection, and collaborative problem solving. This article concludes that the application of the blended learning model can have a positive impact on developing students' learningmotivation and improving their critical thinking skills. With a more flexible and interactive approach, blended learning is an effective alternative in facing the challenges of learning in the modern era.

Abstract

This article explains the benefits of distance learning and the challenges faced by students and teachers. This article is the result of library research. The results of the study explain: first, the use of technology to enable students to learn without being bound by space and time. With basic principles such as geographical separation, the use of technology, and flexibility and independence for students, this learning offers broader and more affordable learning opportunities. The main advantages of distance learning include flexibility in terms of time and place, wider access to education, more affordable costs, and the development of digital skills and learning independence. Second, the challenges faced are also significant, such as limited technological infrastructure, lack of social interaction, and difficulties in maintaining motivation and monitoring student progress. Therefore, although distance learning offers an innovative solution in the field of education, attention is needed to overcome these challenges in order to increase its effectiveness and create a more inclusive and high-quality learning experience.

Abstract

To create a comfortable, effective, and efficient teaching and learning environment, the learning process must be supported by facilities and infrastructure that meet the standards set by the government. With such provisions in place, the learning activities will produce high-quality outcomes, as they are supported by comprehensive educational resources. The availability of complete facilities can encourage students to develop their inner potential and compete confidently with others. Moreover, a well-equipped learning environment fosters a more dynamic atmosphere, in which students become more active and enthusiastic—even in the face of challenging material, they remain highly motivated to learn. This situation stands in stark contrast to classrooms lacking such facilities, where students tend to be less engaged and enthusiastic, resulting in confusion and difficulty in understanding the lessons. Educational facilities and infrastructure within an institution significantly influence the quality of education. Comfortable classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and complete teaching aids play an active role in the learning process. Practical sessions conducted by students tend to yield better learning outcomes, as hands-on experiences in practice rooms contribute to the broadening of their knowledge and understanding. Abstract

This study examines the recruitment and selection strategies for educators at SMP Sains Qur'an Bustanul Falah Genteng Banyuwangi, designed to integrate academic and religious competencies in a balanced manner. The background of this research is based on a key issue faced by Islamic educational institutions: the dilemma in selecting educators who excel in either academic or religious aspects due to the absence of standardized assessment systems to measure both simultaneously. This study aims to describe the strategies, criteria, and selection mechanisms for educators at SMP Sains Qur'an Bustanul Falah, as well as identify the challenges faced in its implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, foundation supervisors, and the selection committee. Data analysis employed reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, along with source triangulation to validate findings. The results show that the selection strategy emphasizes integration between academic competencies (minimum bachelor's degree, pedagogical skills, classroom management) and religious competencies (Qur'an memorization skills, understanding of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah An-Nahdliyah). The selection mechanism includes administrative selection, academic competency tests, Qur'anic recitation proficiency exams, and interviews on NU ideology. The main challenges identified are the limited availability of candidates with both competencies and the absence of standardized assessment indicators for religious competencies. This study recommends the development of systematic assessment standards for religious competencies as a solution to strengthen the recruitment process in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study examines the role of mothers as Madrasatul Ula (the first school) in education and national development, focusing on the women's empowerment model implemented by Fatayat NU in Bondowoso. Using a qualitative approach with literature review and case study methods, the research demonstrates that Fatayat NU plays a crucial role in enhancing women's capacities through multidisciplinary programs encompassing religious education, social development, economic empowerment, and health initiatives, all grounded in Islamic values that affirm gender equality (Q.S. An-Naml:23, Al-Hujurat:14). The organization actively combats patriarchal stigma and discrimination by promoting religious literacy, policy advocacy (such as the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 9/2000 on Gender Mainstreaming), and skills and entrepreneurship training. Collaboration with government entities (through CEDAW, Law No. 23/2004) and institutions such as the Ministry of Religious Affairs (KEMENAG), the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and the Department of Social Affairs (Dinsos) further amplifies its impact. The findings reveal that Fatayat NU not only empowers women as agents of change in both domestic and public spheres but also contributes to human resource development toward Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. Key challenges include deeply entrenched patriarchal norms and women's low self-confidence, which are addressed through a holistic, Islamic value-based approach and policy collaboration.

Abstract

Character strengthening is an important foundation for early childhood towards Indonesia's golden generation in 2045. The purpose of this study is to analyze character strengthening in the implementation of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children in the educational and family environment. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method at Babus Salam Kindergarten in Bandilan Prajekan. Data triangulation was conducted to strengthen the analysis results by observing educators, parents, and the surrounding environment. Interviews were conducted not only with educators and parents but also with class associations and the school committee, which spearheads school activities. Thus, the collected documentation can support the recording and strengthening of data. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children in daily habits, both at school and at home, has a significant impact on strengthening children's character. This is further enhanced by the support and collaboration between educators, parents, and the surrounding community. It is recommended that the synergy between educators, parents, and the community be continuously enhanced by creating programs involving all relevant stakeholders and parenting activities to strengthen collaboration between educators and parents in educating children, conducting seminars or mentoring sessions with child psychologists, and other activities that support character building. This will enable Indonesia to move towards a more focused Golden Generation, with strong character, and be ready to face future challenges.

The Islamic boarding school functions itself as an institution that produces outputs and outcomes as the ideals of the ulama of an Islamic boarding school through educational and teaching activities. Education and teaching are so complex, this is equivalent to the theory which says that "Thus the three aspects of education are cognitive, affective and psychomotor. All of them are given simultaneously and in balance to students. The santri besides living in social situations and shortages for 24 hours day and night continuously are always in an educational atmosphere under the direct guidance of kyai and ust ". This discussion focuses on finding answers about how the five souls as pesantren values are applied at Al Fattah Islamic boarding school, what are the implications for the integrity of the character of the santri. The author presents it in the form of a descriptive analysis which is then reduced by using the theory of Mile and Hiberman so that it becomes a real data unit, between interviews, observations and documentation studies are presented in their entirety. The application of the five souls of the pesantren at the Al-Fattah Islamic boarding school is carried out with more emphasis on the delivery and guidance directly or indirectly in various ways.
