Abstract

Tuberculosis is direct infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis which transmitted through the air (droplet nuclei) when a patient with tuberculosis cough and the saliva droplets that containing the bacteria were inhaled by another person while breathing. The period of treatments for pulmonary tuberculosis required complete adherence. Irregular treatment is caused by the habit that the patient already felt healthy and does not spend the drugs completely and also the side effects of the drugs that make the patient unable to stand it then stop taking the drugs. There were some reasons that lead to the resistance pulmonary tuberculosis bacteria to OAT or MDR-TB. The knowledge management for uneducated patients is needed by providing health education about the treatment of tuberculosis. Methods: The study used descriptive study by involving nursing process which include of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation on two patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at TK II Putri Hijau Hospital Medan. Results: It was obtained that the lack of knowledge problem could be resolved in patient I while in patient II the problem was partially resolved.

Abstract

Decubitus has recently become a problem in both developed and developing countries, especially Indonesia. Until now, pressure sores are still a classic problem in the health sector, especially in the nursing field. In Kebumen Hospital, 38.18% of patients had pressure sores. Damage to skin integrity caused by bed rest, if left unchecked for a long time will irritate the skin until the formation of wounds on the skin, therefore tissue undergoing necrosis due to lack of blood supply to certain tissues. Nowadays, this is a secondary affliction experienced by many hospitalized patients. This paper aims to determine the effect of wound care using aloe vera gel on the healing of decubitus performed on 10 people in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. This study used an experimental method by looking at the cure rate given by aloe vera gel and before being given aloe vera gel, moreover, for the response given aloe vera gel and not. Based on the output of the Mann-Whitney test, it is known that the p-value is 0.008 < (α = 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a difference between the control group and the treatment group. Because there is a significant difference, it can be assumed that there is an effect of giving aloe vera gel on the healing process of decubitus wounds

Abstract

The prevalence of gout arthritis is increasing due to the lack of information about the gout arthritis diet. This can be seen from the living habits of sufferers who do not understand the types of foods to avoid, consumption of foods with high purine levels, lack of exercise and rarely checking their health conditions at health facilities. The purpose of this study was to increase the patient's knowledge about the gout arthritis diet by using health education methods in the form of lectures. This research was carried out with a quasi-experimental research design with a one-group pretest and posttest approach on 30 gout arthritis patients in South Bongkudai Village, North Sulawesi. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire related to age and gender as well as a questionnaire about dietary knowledge of gout arthritis. Data were analyzed through frequency distribution based on respondent characteristics and a chi-square test for bivariate analysis. The results showed that there was a significant increase in respondents' knowledge of 80% with the final result that there was an effect of providing health education on the level of patient knowledge about the gout arthritis diet with a p-value of 0.0196 (p < 0.05).

Abstract

Curry leaves (Murraya koenigii (L.) Spreng) is a plant that is often used in cooking spices that are high in fat because curry leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds such asalkaloids, glycosides, and flavonoids that serve to inhibit the growth of free radicals and lower cholesterol levels. Generally curry leaves are processed traditionally in a simple form, while research will process curry leaves in the form of fermented beverages in the form of kombucha tea. This study aims to explore the process of making curry leaf kombucha tea and know the antihiperlipidemia effect. This research is descriptive and experimental, including material collection, simplisia making, phytochemical screening, fermentation of curry leaf kombucha, evaluation of dosage quality, testing of triglyceride levels in rats with Electrode-Based Biosensor technique. The mice used in this study were 25 and divided into 5 test groups. K1 (negative blank), K2 (Simvastatin), K3 (dose 100 ml), K4 (dose 150 ml), K5 (dose 200 ml) induced using 80% egg yolk and PTU 0.2%. The results showed that the quality evaluation of kombucha tea gave good results to pH 3.08-3.44 and did not experience changes in taste and smell. In the group of 5 doses of 200 ml with kombucha tea administration on the 7th to 15th day, it was shown that cholesterol levels decreased from 253.0 mg/dL to 92.2 ml/dL where these results were close to comparing (simvastatin) from 247.8 mg/dL to 79.2 mg/dL

Abstract

Fruit syrup is made from a sugar solution, the taste and aroma are determined by the freshness of the fruit. Fruit commonly used in making syrup has an attractive color, aroma and distinctive taste. Passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims.) has a distinctive taste and aroma, so it is widely processed into syrup. This study was to evaluate CMC and Agar-Agar stabilizers in the passion fruit syrup formula. Evaluation includes color, appearance, texture, taste and aroma and hedonic tests are carried out. The results showed that there were significant differences in the color, appearance, texture, taste and aroma of passion fruit syrup. Stabilizers CMC and Agar-Agar make the color, texture and appearance of the syrup better and more attractive. The result of hedonic test for ideal syrup concentration is S3 with 4 g of Agar and 6 g of CMC. The higher the concentration of CMC and Agar, the greater the viscosity of the syrup. The concentration of CMC and Agar-agar in a mixture of fruit juices gave significantly different effects on color, texture, appearance, taste and aroma
