Abstract

Education in the digital era significantly changes the learning carried out. Digital technology has also become a part of the daily lives of junior high school students, and its utilization in the context of learning can bring great benefits, especially in developing students’ critical thinking skills. This study aims to explain how the use of digital technology in education can improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. Critical thinking skills are the student’s ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information critically and logically. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to collect data from various sources, including related research, literature, and case studies. The results showed that the use of digital technology in learning can provide an environment that supports the development of junior high school students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of the 3-dimensional learning medium "rolling ball game" in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at the One Roof Tsanawiyah Madrasah Datok Sulaiman Palopo. This research aims 1) to determine the stages of development of the 3-dimensional "rolling ball game" in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Satu Atap Datok Sulaiman Palopo, 2) to determine the validity of the development of the 3-dimensional "rolling ball game" in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at Madrasah Tsanawiyah One Roof Datok Sulaiman Palopo, and 3) to find out students' responses to the development of the 3-dimensional "rolling ball game" in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at Madrasah Tsanawiyah One Roof Datok Sulaiman Palopo. This type of research is R&D (research and development). Researchers use the ADDIE development model with five stages, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted at the One Roof Tsanawiyah Madrasah Datok Sulaiman Palopo. The subjects of this research were students in VIII A for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data collection techniques in this research were expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this research indicate that 3-dimensional learning media meet the criteria for being very valid for use in teaching Aqidah Akhlak. The results of the validation of the 3-dimensional learning media "rolling ball game," namely media expert validation, obtained a percentage of 77, 5% with appropriate criteria, material expert validation obtained a percentage of 93,18% with very appropriate criteria, and language expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% with the criteria worthy. In the questionnaire, student responses obtained a percentage of 85, 25% in the very positive category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh media sosial terhadap perilaku dan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran sejarah kebudayaan islam di madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Khaeriyah Murante kecamatan, Suli Kabupaten Luwu. fokus penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari media sosial terhadap perilaku dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII di MTs Al-Khaeriyah Murante. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasinya meliputi seluruh siswa kelas VIII, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh yaitu semua populasi dijadikan sebagai sampel dan didapatkan sebanyak 32 siswa. Data diperoleh menggunakan angket, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif signifikan media sosial (X) terhadap perilaku (Y1) dan motivasi belajar siswa (Y2) dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi uji hipotesis variabel perilaku belajar (0.00 < 0,05) dan variabel motivasi belajar siswa (0,01 < 0,05), Nilai Thitung yang negatif (-4.076 dan - 3.517), menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif antara penggunaan media sosial dengan perilaku dan motivasi belajar siswa. Semakin tinggi penggunaan media sosial, semakin rendah perilaku dan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah kebudayaan islam. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial yang kurang bijak dan berlebihan dapat berakibat negatif terhadap perilaku dan motivasi belajar siswa. Hal ini perlu menjadi perhatian bagi orang tua, guru, dan pihak sekolah untuk meningkatkan pengawasan dan edukasi tentang penggunaan media sosial yang bertanggung jawab. Pengaruh variabel media sosial (X) terhadap perilaku belajar (Y1) sebesar 35.6% dan pengaruh variabel media sosial (X) terhadap motivasi belajar (Y2) sebesar 29,2% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

This development research aims to determine the stages of development of modified domino card media in the subject of moral beliefs in class VII MTs Al-Hidayah Malili Foundation; to assess the validity of the modified domino card media in the subject of moral beliefs in class VII MTs Al-Hidayah Malili Foundation; to determine the level of practicality of modified domino card media in the class VII moral aqidah subject at MTs Al-Hidayah Malili Foundation.  This type of research is a type of R&D (Research and Development) research commonly called research and development. The model used in this research is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects in this research were 21 students in class VII MTs Al-Hidayah Malili Foundation for the 2023/2024 academic year. The results of this development research obtained the level of validity of the modified domino card media on the subject of moral beliefs and material on the attributes of Allah SWT. Categorized as very valid based on the average value of 93%. The level of practicality of the modified domino card learning media in moral beliefs is material on the characteristics of Allah SWT. Categorized as very practical based on the average teacher and student response questionnaire score, namely 85%.

Abstract

This research discusses the Influence of social media on students' learning behavior and motivation in Islamic History and Culture Learning at Al-Khaeriyah Murante Junior High School, Murante District, Suli Sub-district, Luwu Regency. The focus of this research is to determine the influence of social media on the learning behavior and motivation of eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Khaeriyah Murante. The type of research used is a quantitative approach. The population includes all eighth-grade students, and the sampling technique used was saturated sampling, meaning that the entire population was used as a sample, resulting in 32 students. Data was collected using questionnaires and then analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant negative influence of social media (X) on students' learning behavior (Y1) and motivation (Y2), as evidenced by the significance value of the hypothesis test for the learning behavior variable (0.00 < 0.05) and the student motivation variable (0.01 < 0.05). The negative t-test value (-4.076 and -3.517) indicates a negative relationship between the use of social media and students' learning behavior and motivation. The higher the use of social media, the lower the students' learning behavior and motivation in the Islamic history and culture subject. This study shows that the unwise and excessive use of social media can negatively affect students' learning behavior and motivation. This should be a concern for parents, teachers, and schools to increase supervision and education about the responsible use of social media. The influence of the social media variable (X) on learning behavior (Y1) is 35.6%, and the influence of the social media variable (X) on motivation (Y2) is 29.2%; the rest is influenced by other factors that were not examined in this study.

Abstract

Children's Islamic religious education in the family cannot be separated between education in the family, school, and community. Put simply, education is a human effort to develop children's personalities and internal values. Family and education are two terms that cannot be separated because education is where there is a family. When there are parents who want to educate their children, then at the same time there is also a parent's responsibility towards their children. In addition, the author will discuss Islamic religious education for children in broken home families (a case study in Minanga Village, Rongkong District). The problems in this article will focus on first, how foster parents or foster parents apply to children's religious education in Broken Home families; second, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for Islamic religious education in Broken Home families in Minanga Village, Rongkong District; third, this article is the result of qualitative descriptive research that the author conducted in Minanga Village. The study conducted by the author showed that Islamic religious education in Broken Home families varied in the application of their religious education. One family was not appropriate in their religious education because they were busy. Five families were not appropriate in their religious education. Applicable in the religious education of their children.

Abstract

Academic self-efficacy plays a critical role in shaping students' academic performance and resilience. This study aims to compare the academic self-efficacy of high school students in Indonesia and Egypt, focusing on how contextual factors such as education systems and cultural norms influence this psychological construct. A quantitative cross-country comparative method was employed, involving 100 students (50 from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and 50 from Cairo, Egypt) selected using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, validated for cross-cultural contexts, and analyzed using independent sample t-tests, MANOVA, and SEM techniques.The results reveal that Indonesian students scored significantly higher across all dimensions of academic self-efficacy. For instance, the "Confidence in Mastery" dimension scored 75.34 for Indonesian students compared to 68.12 for Egyptian students (p < 0.01). In the "Academic Resilience" dimension, Indonesian students scored 69.88 versus 62.33 for their Egyptian counterparts (p < 0.01). Gender, socioeconomic status, and prior academic achievement emerged as significant demographic moderators. The study concludes that Indonesian students benefit from a supportive educational environment that fosters intellectual independence and resilience. These findings underscore the importance of culturally sensitive educational policies and interventions in enhancing students’ psychological well-being and academic success.

Abstract

One of the essential components and stages that teachers must take in the learning process is evaluation. A good review will provide an overview of the quality of learning, which will help teachers plan better subsequent learning strategies, and students will be able to be motivated to improve their abilities. Many educators still do not understand the nature, importance and purpose of evaluation. So, the implementation is not yet optimal. This research aims to study and research student learning outcomes in tahfizhul Qur'an lessons at the Qur'anic School of Dewan Dakwah Surakarta during the pandemic and post-pandemic. This research uses a qualitative approach, namely scientific research, that aims to understand a phenomenon in natural social contact by prioritizing a process of in-depth communication interaction between the researcher and the phenomenon to be discussed. The research location is the Qur'anic School of the Surakarta Da'wah Council, and the data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. The results of this research show that students' learning outcomes in tahfizhul Qur'an lessons at the Qur'anic School of Dewan Dakwah Surakarta after the pandemic were better than during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS) in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning for grade VIII students at SMPN 3 Palopo. This LKPD was developed to improve students' critical, analytical, and creative thinking skills in understanding learning materials. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively to determine the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the LKPD developed. The results of the study showed that (1) the development of HOTS-based LKPD in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning was carried out using the ADDIE model systematically and gradually; (2) the results of the validity test showed that the LKPD developed obtained a validation score of 96% from media experts, 87% from material experts, and 78% from language experts, so it was declared very valid for use; (3) the results of the practicality test show that this LKPD gets a percentage of 88% from teachers, which shows that this LKPD is easy to use and supports interactive and innovative learning processes. In addition, implementing HOTS-based LKPD in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning positively impacts student motivation and understanding. Students show increased critical thinking and problem-solving and are more active in learning. Based on these results, it is concluded that the HOTS-based LKPD developed is very valid, practical, and effective for use in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning in class VIII of SMPN 3 Palopo.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan usaha manusia untuk memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan dari berbagai sumber, baik formal maupun informal. Pendidikan bertujuan untuk membentuk pribadi yang berguna, sebagaimana yang diutarakan oleh pemikir Islam, Ibnu Khaldun. Penelitian ini mengkaji relevansi kurikulum dan metode pendidikan yang dikemukakan oleh Ibnu Khaldun dengan pendidikan Islam modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan, dengan bersumber pada “Muqaddimah” Ibnu Khaldun. Teknik dokumentasi dan analisis isi diterapkan untuk memahami konsep pendidikan yang ditawarkan. Ibnu Khaldun mengklasifikasikan ilmu pengetahuan menjadi dua kategori utama: ilmu syar’iyyah (hukum Islam dan ajaran agama) dan ilmu filsafat (pengetahuan alamiah yang diperoleh melalui pemikiran manusia). Metode pendidikan yang dikemukakannya meliputi hafalan, dialog, widya wisata, contoh, dan pengulangan bertahap. Pendekatannya menekankan pada keseimbangan antara ilmu agama dan ilmu rasional, integrasi teori dan praktik, serta pengembangan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep kurikulum dan metode pendidikan Ibnu Khaldun masih relevan untuk diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan Islam modern. Pendekatan komprehensif yang menggabungkan teori dan praktik, serta mendorong pengembangan pemikiran kritis, sangat penting untuk menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang adaptif dan efektif. Selain itu, implikasi dari penelitian ini berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.
