Education Management: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (Edium) adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan di bawah naungan prodi manajemen pendidikan islam fakultas tarbiyah IAIN Parepare dengan ISSN 3047-244X, terbit dua kali dalam setahun juni dan desember. Jurnal ini memiliki fokus utama pada ruang lingkup manajemen lembaga pendidikan, kepemimpinan pendidikan, evaluasi kebijakan pendidikan, dan manajemen mutu pendidikan, jurnal ini bertujuan menyajikan kajian-kajian terkini dan pemikiran-pemikiran inovatif dalam bidang manajemen pendidikan, khususnya yang berhubungan dengan konteks pendidikan islam.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the archival management system at MA DDI Takkalasi and examine its role in supporting the effectiveness of educational documentation. Archival management has a strategic position in madrasah administration because it is a source of information, authentic evidence of activities, and a basis for decision-making. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design that combines literature review, direct observation, and document analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of archival practices. Primary data was obtained through observation of the processes of grouping, storing, organising, and retrieving documents, while secondary data was sourced from official madrasah administration archives. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques, which included reduction, categorisation, and systematic interpretation of findings. The results of the study indicate that archive management at MA DDI Takkalasi has been carried out in a fairly systematic manner through the storage of academic documents, general administration, student archives, and learning activity documents. The archives function effectively in facilitating data retrieval, report preparation, programme planning, and institutional performance evaluation. However, archive management still faces obstacles such as the lack of standard operating procedures, limited storage facilities, and minimal document digitisation. Nevertheless, the madrasah has shown its commitment to improving the quality of its archives by revamping its storage system and strengthening administrative coordination. Overall, records management contributes significantly to supporting the smooth running of educational administration and improving the professionalism of services at MA DDI Takkalasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evaluation of Merdeka Curriculum implementation and measure the risks arising from its application at RA Arrahmah. The study is grounded in the limited number of studies integrating curriculum implementation evaluation with risk measurement in early childhood education settings, even though curriculum transition requires adequate pedagogical readiness, learning resources, and institutional governance. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at RA Arrahmah has been carried out through initial assessment, learning planning, play-based learning activities, and evaluation of children’s development. This implementation has positively contributed to children’s creativity, independence, and learning engagement. However, the study also identified several major risks, including limited learning media and teaching materials, insufficient teacher readiness in differentiated instruction and authentic assessment, heterogeneity of children’s abilities, and limited physical facilities and pedagogical references. Based on the risk matrix, most risks fall into moderate to high categories, particularly those related to teacher readiness and the availability of learning resources. The study concludes that successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in early childhood education requires systematic evaluation, strengthened teacher capacity, and well-planned institutional risk management.

Abstract

This study analyzes adaptive change management strategies to improve the quality of Islamic education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Muhammadiyah Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. The study addresses the empirical gap regarding the implementation of adaptive strategies in Islamic elementary schools, including transformational leadership, digital administration, stakeholder participation, human resource development, and change vision communication. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted, collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation, validated via source and method triangulation. Findings reveal the implementation of five key adaptive strategies, supported by organizational backing, enthusiastic young teachers, and strong internal communication, while obstacles include limited infrastructure and resistance from senior teachers. The adaptive strategies positively affect school quality, reflected in improved accreditation, increased public trust, and strengthened students’ Islamic character. The study highlights the necessity of systematic and Islamically grounded change management to enhance educational quality and the relevance of madrasahs in the modern era

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of student management and its contribution to shaping the disciplinary character of students at Al-Basyariah Islamic Boarding School, which operates a 24-hour education system. The study addresses the empirical gap regarding the quantitative relationship between student management and student discipline, including the influence of external factors such as family and peers. A quantitative survey was conducted with 85 students. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, normality and linearity checks, simple linear regression, and the coefficient of determination. Findings show that student management is well-implemented with a mean score of 4.16 (high category), while students’ disciplinary character scored 4.33 (very high category). The coefficient of determination of 0.335 indicates that student management contributes 33.5% to disciplinary character, while 66.5% is influenced by other factors. These results emphasize that structured and consistent student management is significant, yet effective discipline formation requires coordinated engagement between the school, family, and social environment.

Abstract

This study examines the application of transformational leadership by the principal of MIS Muhammadiyah 14 Talang Ulu in responding to educational challenges and changes. The study is motivated by the limited empirical research assessing how transformational leadership can drive innovation, collaboration, and character development in elementary Islamic schools. A qualitative case study approach was used, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Findings indicate that the principal effectively internalizes transformational leadership values through inspiring vision communication, teacher and staff empowerment, and promotion of technology- and character-based learning innovations. Challenges, including limited facilities and internal resistance, were overcome via collaborative strategies and continuous coaching. The study highlights the need for ongoing leadership training and strengthening of an adaptive madrasah organizational culture to ensure transformational leadership significantly enhances educational quality, innovation, and institutional reputation.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of the Education Management Information System (Education MIS) in improving educational quality at SDIT Aziziyyah, Pekanbaru. The research addresses the empirical gap regarding integrated implementation of Education MIS in Islamic primary schools, particularly in supporting operational efficiency, instructional monitoring, and data-driven decision making. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted, collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation, and validated through source triangulation. Findings indicate that Education MIS significantly improves administrative efficiency, real-time student achievement monitoring, transparency for parents, and data-based managerial decision-making. This study extends previous research by showing that Education MIS also supports pedagogical practices, learning evaluation, and school-parent collaboration. The study highlights that integrated Education MIS is a strategic tool for transforming management in Islamic primary schools, with cloud-based development recommended for system sustainability
