Abstract

Inclusive education has been done in Indonesia since Law on the National Education System Number 20 the year 2003 is declared. Implementation evaluation of this inclusive education shows that teacher’s readiness in conducting inclusive classroom is still in a  low level, whereas the teacher is one of the four pillars in education. The teacher feels hard to facilitate special educational needs children, so influence his/her subjective wellbeing. The education ministry has organized some technical training about inclusive education. Some research shows that the training is only focused on the theory, regulation, and technical implementation, so no session facilitates the teacher’s affection domain. Empathic Love Therapy is a therapy series with a transpersonal approach to recognize self. This research aims to know the effectiveness of Empathic Love Therapy in increasing teacher subjective wellbeing and readiness in inclusive school settings. Research instrument to collecting data uses subjective wellbeing scale and teacher readiness scale. The subjects in this research are ten shadow teachers from Yogyakarta Inclusive School Forum. The result of this research shows that Empathic Love Therapy is useful in increasing teacher subjective wellbeing, but it is not sufficient to increase teacher’s readiness to conduct inclusive classrooms. The description of this result is explained in the discussion chapter.

Abstract

This research-based on the findings that elementary school students already have mathematical critical thinking skills but have not reached the whole stage of the skills. Critical thinking skills of mathematics is essential for students because critical mathematical thinking can solve the problems and as a consideration to make decisions. This research aims to: (1) explore the critical thinking skills of mathematics of the subject of the volume of cubes and beams; (2) to determine student's difficulties in solving mathematical critical thinking skills test questions on the subject of the volume of cubes and beams. The research used a case study method of 28 students in one of the Islamic elementary schools in Bandung Regency. The data collected in the form of qualitative data obtained through tests of mathematical critical thinking skills, interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis techniques used thematic analysis by analyzing students' learning trajectory. The results showed that most students were still in the low category in the ability of critical thinking. As for the difficulties experienced by students, namely in providing simple explanations and working on problems that are not systematic. For this reason, the improving of students' mathematical critical thinking skills need further research.

Abstract

This paper's aim is to describe the strategy to improve the ability to think at a higher level for children currently in primary education. Children currently in primary education are children who are in the Alpha generation. This generation is certainly different from previous generations, especially in access to information. Even children holding a device in daily life is not a strange sight. This fact needs to be examined more about the balance in the speed of obtaining information and managing it. The more accessible access to information is, the expectation is children have a good filter for news or information that is classified as reasonable and vice versa, namely information that is classified as not making sense. The ability to filter this information is not easily obtained by every child. In other words, children need a stimulus to be able to think at a high level. The goal is that when children can think at a high level, then that ability is used as a weapon to gain the ability to filter information. In this paper, the focus of discussion is a strategy that should be taught by adults around the children to be able to be wiser in managing information. This research applies a qualitative approach with a literature study. The finding is the ability for the children to think at a higher level can improve with learning through contextual problems. This contextual problem is obtained from daily activities carried out by children

Abstract

This study aims to describe the using of e-sabak in optimizing the higher-order thinking skills in mathematics learning. The obtaining data on the description of mathematics learning through the use of e-sabak in optimizing higher-order thinking skills, this research applied a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research instrument utilized observation and documentation guidelines to photograph mathematics learning in optimizing the ability to think at a higher level through the use of e-sabak in fourth-grade students at SDN Pondok Petir 01, Depok City. The results showed: (1) students were happy with new experiences in the use of e-sabak; (2) the use of e-sabak devices can optimize the ability of students to analyze and evaluate phenomena through observation by capturing them using e-sabak; (3) teacher provided the ways of communicating observations in front of the class to students; (4) the ability of students to create a problem-solving context still needs to be optimized through the praxis of learning in the classroom context. This study concluded that the e-sabak device helps the implementation of mathematics teaching to maximize the ability of high-level thinking students in fourth grade SDN Pondok Petir 01, Depok City.
